Babygirl, your DD is so pretty! Ebony, I am not sure that I could wait until I got home to play with the new computer. I'm just saying...

havent lost anything
There are a couple of possibilities. It could be that you are being too restrictive with your calories. In that case, your body is in starvation mode. It will hold on to everything and cause your weight loss to stall. The other could be that after coming off of the liquid phase of the post-op diet, that you are losing weight, but you are also displacing what was basically an empty colon (TMI?) with solid waste. In that case, you are losing weight, but the adding of solid waste to your colon makes the scale stay the same. Start measuring yourself. That is a better way to tell if you are losing than just relying on the scale's numbers. Good luck to all of you!

Tap-I don't know how you live in such cold weather. Are you sure you aren't in Antarctica?

havent lost anything
I didn't lose right after surgery. My doctor pointed out that the month or so after surgery is for healing, not for weight loss. My weight loss didn't really start until almost 3 months out. During the first three months, I think I only lost about pounds. Everyone's body is different, so not everyone will lose huge amounts of weight in the beginning. Don't get discouraged this soon in the game. Give it some time. Also, remember that you may not have any fill in your band to aid your weight loss (most docs leave the bands empty when they put them in). Just try to continue to watch what you eat and be patient. Good luck!

Yay! Doc found my port, finally!
I hope it kicks in for you! I am glad that he at least found it, but since you are self pay, it would have been nice of him to leave a little more so that you don't have to go back so soon. Good luck!

Need some advice on drinks...
It seems that you have found the most of the drinks I would recommend. Right now, I live on the 3 different flavors of Hawaiian Punch. I also buy the Crystal light and the Welch's. I really like the juice flavors (grapefruit and grape). Wal-Mart even sells the apple juice flavor. None of them tastes exactly the same, but when you can't stand water and full sugar is out of the question, it works. I bought a couple of 32 oz bottles at a sporting goods store. I keep one with me full of whichever flavor of the day to stay hydrated. Good luck to you!

Yay! I almost missed the to serve friends. Dangit! Are we going to get some painkiller posting? I went to Rock City last year. The entire trip about killed me walking around up there. I had to warn DS that there was NO WAY I was going across the rope bridge! I haven't done that in years. I have to say I agree.

First, happy birthday to your DH. If I promise to sing "Happy Birthday" at the appropriate time, may come to breakfast and dinner? Or maybe you can just send me the chocolate cinammon rolls? Good morning Tippy-tap!

Tap, it's funny that you mention it being above freezing there. We are in the mid 60s today. It feels like summertime for the moment (at least until the rain comes back this evening). I don't know how you live in that cold. brrrrrr. re:bad animal experience. I don't know that I have had my own bad experience with animals. I just remember being forced to touch animals whenever I was afraid. That didn't help. Then, after DS was mauled by MIL's former dog, I haven't wanted to be near bigger animals. That is also when DS developed his fear of dogs. He seems to be getting over it now (thank goodness), but me? Not so much.

I am with you on that. May we all have a piece of the cape? I am so sorry about your anke. You aren't a klutz though. Anyone that can run with a trainer could NOT be a klutz.:lol:That is such a mental picture. **My fear of animals has actually gotten worse in adulthood. I am not sure why I am afraid of them. I used to have a small dog as a kid. I can be close to puppies, but bigger dogs freak me out. I don't know what it is though. It is kind of like my fear of heights. I could do heights as a child, but now...No way.

You are super woman to me. I don't accomplish maybe even a 4th of what you do in a day. Heck, I am not sure that I do in a week, what you do in a day. You are a cleaning, cooking, and baking super hero.

But Tap, you are super woman. I am a meer mortal. I couldn't keep up with you on a good day. I don't know how you do it. Do you think some of it might rub off on me just by association?

Ha! That is exactly how I am feeling right now. I have no life! WTH? When I was younger, I would have found somewhere to go. Now? I don't want to go anywhere, but I am bored out of my skull.

Ok, I really liked the dance. That was really cute. I could tell that I am pms'ing though since it brought tears to my eyes. (I know, I am in a really crazy mood today) I could not be a vet because I am scared of most animals (including the really cute small dogs). I love to look at animals from afar.

We miss you too! I am sorry that you had to leave a job you liked, especially because of the hag at work. I hope you find something better.

You are not alone. I had it out with a coworker over something extremely trivial. Obviously, he was pms'ing too.

What are the signs of stuck foods?
I guess I have been lucky. I have never had pain when I have gotten stuck. I have only had the feeling of the food sitting in my esophagus (sp?). It feels like you should be choking, but you aren't. The few times that I have been stuck, I did PB. That may be why I have not had the pain of it going through the band. Either way, it is not pleasant. The way to avoid this is to make sure that you take small bites, chew very well, and eat slowly. My instances of being stuck have usually come with "first bite syndrome" where you take a really large first bite (usually when I am starving) and swallow without thinking about it. I hope that you NEVER have to learn this one from experience. Good luck!

Anyone else have a problem with feeling cold while losing weight?
I would sweat all of the time. Now I am freezing. I never really wore a coat in the winter time, and now I wear a sweatshirt inside. I have been told that had to do with the weight loss. I have also been told it is not just the band. I have a relative that had gastric bypass that is always cold now. I don't know if it is lack of padding, or lack of fat in the diet. I started getting cold after only a few pounds dropped.
