  1. I can't go past two days with left overs. I shudder at the thought.
  2. I can't describe what his food looks like. It looks like something you wouldn't even think about eating. It looks awful. He works. She controls the money (I haven't figured out how she did it). He gets $20 every two weeks to buy whatever he needs (gas, lunch, tobacco) then comes to work with this food that looks like it is about to grow green fur. It is awful.
  3. I hope you are ok after more surgery and the accident. You are not alone. Remember, it is still 35 pounds down instead of up. I know I would be 40 pounds heavier than when I started if I had not had surgery. Anyway, you can do it!
  4. Nope. We missed you though! Glad to see you! What she said. It is in the 40s here and they are talking about snow! WTH? Exactly. That is why I try to look over this complete butthole that I work with. He has a terrible home life. I figure he takes out his frustrations at work because he is completely henpecked at home. He eats 4 day old food or just cans of Beans for lunch while his DW eats out. Go figure.
  5. Wow, you experienced a lot in one weekend. I am glad your DD likes the school. It helps to have visited and get an idea of the layout. I am sorry you had such an awful time traveling home. You are a good one for not losing it. I think I would have at the airport counter. I am sure the stress caused your PBs. Anyway, it is over so that now you can relax.
  6. I actually cook beef (stew cut) in the crock pot similar to the way you cooked the chicken. It comes out super tender and easier to get down (at least to me).
  7. Sorry Tap. It's not that I don't appreciate it. I really do. It's just that he wants splashy gifts. So knowing that, why buy me the practical gifts? I like splashy too. I hope the migrain is better. I think I need another small fill, but I am trying to tough it out. I am scared of being too tight. Right now, I can eat anything as long as I go slow. Not for me. They no longer count Good Friday as a holiday.:smile2: Same here! It was in the 70s yesterday, but today they are talking about snow! WTH? I hope you are not one of the layoffs.
  8. I have found that if the chicken in cooked in the crock pot for several hours, it comes out moist and very tender. I have not had trouble with chicken, but I normally cook it in the crock pot with either salsa or some type of soup to make a sauce. Good luck!
  9. I have yet to find a "good" protein shake. I do like the special k protein waters. They don't have a lot of protein, but they taste ok. The taste of the shakes is relative. Some people swear by Muscle Milk, but it tasted just as bad (to me)as the Body Fortress that I bought at Walmart. The key is to find something that can mask the taste like syrups made for coffee or extracts from the baking aisle. I hope that you are able to find something that you can tolerate. Good luck!
  10. Have you taken pictures of your progress? I have taken 3 pictures since I had my surgery. I can tell a difference when looking at those pictures when the scale isn't being so kind.
  11. Exactly!
  12. I don't know how I missed that. Happy anniversary! We talk about the similarities in our husbands. This is NOT one of them. My DH wouldn't know romance if it walked up and slapped him in the face. He bought me a stove for one anniversary.:smile2: I could have slugged him. :grouphug: I had to tell him, that was NOT a suitable anniversary present.:welldoneclap:
  13. You are not alone. I don't see myself as smaller. I look in the mirror and see the same fat girl that was there before surgery. I don't look any different to myself. I know I am smaller since my son (he's 11) was able to hug me and put his arms all of the way around me. That shocked me. As far as the protein, although my doc stresses a protein first diet, he never actually gave me a number to strive for. I try to eat my protein first, then veggies. I will admit that I eat too many carbs. When I do that, my weight loss stalls. Since you are working out so much, maybe it is that you are gaining muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, so as long as you are losing inches, you are losing. Measure yourself and go by that for a while. Debbie, I like the new picture. I keep saying that I am going to be brave enough to take one, but I am still camera shy. Take care everyone!
  14. I just said a prayer.
  15. Have a safe trip SNT!
  16. Happy Saturday! I have to work today too, Tap. The only thing I have done this morning is brew my coffee. I had to buy a new coffee pot yesterday morning before work because my coffee make died. The coffee yesterday was awful. Today isn't any better. I hate getting used to a new coffee maker. Fanny-you look great! Glad to see you back! Susan-I hope all went well with your surgery. g4e-good luck with the new job. re money: I like it all facing the same way, but I don't keep it in order. Now I am off to attempt to brew another pot of coffee. This pot is the pits.
  17. No bad omens! Everything is going to turn out great! We are thinking of you!
  18. Okay, let me try this again. IT CAN HAPPEN:thumbup:!
  19. Sure....It could happen...:seeya:
  20. I peeled grapes this last time because the grapes were soooooo good. I think it had just been so long since I had some grapes that I was willing to go through the trouble.
  21. I didn't really start to feel full until I had my last (5th) fill. I don't know how much I have in my band. Truthfully, the amount in the band will differ per person on how much it takes to feel restriction. I think you are doing great. I would get another fill though. That should help. Also, don't go for full, instead go for satisfied. If you wait until you feel full, once you have good restriction, that may actually make you fee sick. It is not a good feeling. Good luck!
  22. Oh yeah, I have to peel plums and grapes. I haven't even tried oranges since I was unable to eat the plum. I just juiced the orange. I was able to eat canned mandarin oranges with no problems.
  23. Ebony, I don't think that you would still be sitting on your rear. You have so much gumption that I KNOW you would have done it. You inspire me. Susan, you have my prayers and thoughts. Hi everyone!
  24. Mac-I am so sorry that you are having car issues. Are you going to keep the car, or trade for something else?
