  1. I think I healed very fast and didn't feel much restriction at all. I am trying hard to pay attention to fullness, but it's hard for sure, just like dieting. lol darn it.
  2. I don't get how we can stretch something? We don't have any kind of stoma/pouch b/c we don't have any fill. I thi nk you are to go easy on your stomach so it can heal and you dont cause the band to move around or slip? Is this not correct?
  3. for me: post op - one week liquid 2nd week: pureed 3rd: pureed and soft foods 4th soft foods then real.
  4. I think therapy is great. You are right will power doesn't come with it. You need to look inside and really think before you choose. I wish it were easier too, cause I get hungry, but you can do it! Dig deep!!
  5. Ok, I've never been a huge Water consumer, but I'm way bigger now. I have a water bottle by me all the time. My mouth is dry all the time! Is this normal? I'm not dehydrated, I use the bathroom a lot, and I'm drinking a lot. I'm newly banded (10 days out) and this is a huge surprise to me.
  6. I'd call for sure. You'll want to continue with the met in my opinion until you lose enough to keep that pcos away, hopefully. good luck!
  7. Michelle, I'd keep up with the miralax, but you may want to call the dr. and ask what they suggest. I think it's important for you have a bm. I also have no problem drinking anything, so I think that is good.
  8. I just had clear bandages like you are talking about. Mine came off no problem and less painful than a bandaid. They looked gross, but that was just dried blood. I just pressed down on the skin and removed gently, not a big deal at all. good luck!
  9. HI all, banded the 24th too. I'm down 20lbs presurgery and post op total. I think I'm healing quite easily. I had my follow up dr. appt and they were pleased ,so I am. I am able to sleep on either side with pillows wedged under me. I found a heating pad really helps too. I also feel more pain at night, mainly b/c I think I'm pushing harder during the day. I'm on mushies, and it's going super easy. Almost too easy. I feel real hunger and this disappoints me. I get full fast, but grrr.
  10. I was banded 10/24 and I'm good, but my port size is tender and kind of bumpy? like maybe swollen in different areas around it.
  11. ooh delicious. I'm so making that one!
  12. what is the ricotta bake? Thanks SIL, the signature came from a friend of mine. She designs them using photoshop. She's really good. I need to learn photoshop soon. I appreciate the ideas. I just want to find something that will keep me full. I teach and have limited break time so lunch is at noon, and then I get out past 3pm. I start school at 7:50, and that is a long time. I just want to plan well in advance.
  13. Hi, I was wondering if there is a mushy thread somewhere. I couldn't find one in the nutrition area. I want some variety and I know many of you have great ideas. Can someone give me some recipes or point me to the place to find the mushy ones?
  14. ok, I've done a search and I can't find a thread regarding ideas for the mushie stage. I'll be there in about 5 days, so I was wondering about unique things I could eat besides creamy soups and yogurt. Help please.
  15. I'm a carbaholic and have pcos. But it started in college when I moved away from my mother who is controlling and a freak about food. She taught me to hide what I'm eating or she would judge me from age 8 on. when I went to college I met pizza, beer, and frat parties. I enjoyed it immensely. I gained 50 lbs in 4 years. ugh. I lost 10 gain 15, etc. repeat, relather... I believe I've always rebelled and ate what I wanted b/c of my mother's behavior. But I'm an adult and I'm responsible now. Losing weight got to hard and I've been raising small children. I gave up. Now I'm ready, and I'm now 3 days post op. I pray this works for me.
  16. Also, as a mom of two toddlers, just had surgery...etc. I'm ok to avoid it. Plus just b/c someone wants to avoid doesn't mean they are just fine, unless of course you are judging them. As a parent of young children, some days my sleep is way more important than sex. oooh I must be headed to a bad place. blah! I like the idea that you have sex when you feel healed and want to.
  17. Yay, I'm glad you are doing well!! 2nd day post op. I've had water, a little broth, and some protein water. I'm off pain pills, but just at night I do take one. I'm going to have egg drop soup tonight, and I'm so excited. I took my bandages off and just have bandaids over them. I read the follow up instructions from the hospital. I hope that is what the dr. wanted.
  18. 10-24 was my surgery. I went in at 5:30 a.m. and surgery at 7:30. I was stressing b/c I went to the bathroom before I went in. Yep, I go in and they wanted me to do a freaking pg test. aaaaaaaaaagh, I'm 40 and my dh has a vasectomy. So I had to wait for the IV drip to add to my Fluid, and finally went and of course it was negative. lol I tell you, the blood thinner shot in my stomach stung more than anything. ugh. I was out, and ready to go home by 1pm. I was fuzzy all day and sore. Drank my Water sip by sip. I'm able to walk around a lot more today, and am feeling pretty good. Now I'm just hoping I feel some restriction. lol
  19. HI everyone! THanks for the good thoughts! I'm one day post op and doing ok. I hurt getting up, I feel swollen and some gas pains. I'm walking around at least once every half hour. I'm hungry too. lol I have clear bandages on my incisions and there is blood there from yesterday. I"m praying it's normal.
  20. I just had surgery yesterday and I know the uncomfortable part. ugh. I feel better today, feeling hungry too? what is that about? ugh. still on Clear liquids. I hope you feel better soon!
  21. I'm moving along pretty well. I will say I'm stiff and sore. They have this clear bandage on them, and I can see the blood from yesterday. They haven't gotten worse, but looks icky. They say I can take a shower tomorrow, and take off my bandages. Should I put other bandages on? Any input?
  22. 2 more days! I'm starting to get nervous, antsy and irritable. I'm down about 11lbs from the beginning of liquid diet. I think it would be more ,but I was allowed protein and veggie for dinner. I may have splurged a couple of times also. I am sending good thoughts for all!!
  23. My BMI is over 50 and I was approved. Surgery for me is Friday. Good luck!
  24. Thank you ladies! I'm about 45 min. away, and my dh will be bringing me home.
