  1. Is the Couch to 5k best to start 2 weeks after being banded? I was banded on Sept. 2nd and would like to join this program, but I'm too sore to start now.
  2. I would say to stick with whatever your Dr. said to eat. If you are going to eat any fruits, the lowest ones in Sugars are your berries. (raspberries, rhubarb, lemon and limes in small amounts) I would squeeze lemons in hot Water and drink in the evening prior to going to bed when I was on my pre op diet. I also ate skinless boneless chicken breast and tuna, both low carbs. I hope this helps. Best wishes.
  3. I followed the Medifast plan as closely as I could. There towards the end, closer to my surgery, I have skinless boneless chicken breast and tuna and it only took my Dr. 15 minutes to band me because my liver shrunk and wasn't in his way. I think the key is "low fat, low carb". Best wishes to you. Oh, and I lost 13 lbs on that diet.
  4. I don't think I will EVER whip out that lapband card to show anyone. I will order from the regular menu and immediatly ask for a to go box. That's probably the best way to save your face. Too bad that they couldn't accomodate you though.
  5. Revenesqued, You CAN do it! Keep your eyes on the prize. Trust me, I felt the way you are feeling right now and my husband encouraged me over and over. Just "forgetting" it would make you a quitter. You don't want to be a quitter. We are in this to WIN and LIVE! Best Wishes to you!
  6. I didn't have what you would call a last supper or something I knew I wouldn't be able to have after surgery. However, my husband and I went to the State fair and I had what I wanted. The day prior to me starting my pre op diet I had my nephew over and he wanted meatloaf, cabbage and mac & cheese, I made it for him and the was the last time I ate something decent. I would have much rather went to a steak house, but I didn't. I'm looking to achieve the prize of weight loss and it's going to be a way of life. I wish everyone well and just keep in mind the goal you want to achieve.
  7. I know. My husband said he was shocked when the Dr. came out and told him he was done. I guess a big part of it was my liver was shrunk really well. That's why it's so important for people to stick to the pre op diet as much as possible. I know it's hard to do cause that medifast diet is not good at all. I ended up eating skinless boneless chicken breast and tuna which I knew had little to no fat. That's the thing most people have to realize is that if you deviate, it needs to be foods that won't add fat to your diet thus creating potential problems with your liver being fatty. I'm just glad it's over and I'm looking forward to eating pureed food after 48 hours. Let's keep in touch to keep us motivated to lose weight.
  8. No I didn't have to have the heparin injections. What are they for? Pain? I just have a pain elixir to take orally for pain. Have a GREAT day!!!
  9. I am going to shop at all the boutiques in New York City along with Saks Fifth Avenue and Nieman Marcus. I can't wait. My husband is going to buy me a platinum diamond ring with 3 total carats. Yay!!!
  10. gg, Glad you're doing well. I had my surgery yesterday and other than the sore incisions, I feel rather great. I had the nausea too after surgery. As soon as I got into the car to go the hotel, I thought I would throw up. Got to the hotel and started dry heaving. I just knew I would throw up, but thank God I didn't. How are you feeling today? Let's get this weight loss party on and poppin.
  11. Thanks to everyone for your well wishes to me. I am up early and feel quite well with NO dry heaves!! For all of the surgeries after me, I pray the best for you!
  12. Thanks DenverGirl, Hope all goes well for you. September Samurai's must support one another on this new journey. I will continue to be on here and hope you will be too. Do you live in Denver?
  13. Thank you! Looks like your surgery is approaching. Best wishes
  14. [/url] Hey all you September Samurai's, I was banded today by Dr. Curry in Cincinnati. It took all of 15 minutes for him to perform the surgery and all in all I feel pretty good. A little sore and dry heaving, but everything turned out great! Now I'm ready to get this weight off once and for all. I am soooo happy this has finally been made a reality. Bless all of you coming after me. Take care and lets get this party started.
  15. Tomorrow is my surgery day!!! It's a little scary but I'm excited to see what change this will make in my life. Keep me in your prayers and thoughts tomorrow.
  16. Hello to all. I'm being banded on Tuesday, Sept 2nd and ask everyone agree in prayer with me that the surgery will go well and that the healing process will be speedy and weight loss immediate and continual. I had my blood drawn 3 weeks ago and have had pain in that arm until today when I went up for prayer and my Pastor laid hands on me and I felt the healing power of God and my arm was healed at that moment. It does not hurt any longer, praise God! Blessings!
  17. You are amazing and certainly an inspiration to me. You also look wonderful. I'm sure you feel as wonderful as you look. I'll be banded Tuesday and would appreciate any and all advice you found to help you along the way with respect to your success. Thanks and CONGRATS!
  18. OMG yes! The pre op diet has caused severe moodiness and my husband will be so so glad when the surgery is over and I can eat REAL food. Hang in there and pray. Good luck.
  19. GG, Are you excited about tomorrow? You'll be in my prayers and we'll talk after surgery. Best wishes.
  20. Maribelle, I'm with you. I have ended up not eating alot of the time because I don't care for Medifast food. I can tolerate the banana pudding, the shakes and the bars but the food, especially those gross eggs, I cannot stomach. I think I may be living on about 400 calories a day and have eaten so much jello, I'm sick of it and now I'm chomping on sf popcicles. Surgery is Tuesday...can't wait! How are you doing after banding?
  21. Well, I just know that when I throw up it's not a pretty picture. It's so hard that I get burst vessles in my eyes. I hope this is not a problem. I guess I will have to watch what and where I eat so that doesn't occur. Thanks for the info.
  22. Once banded, what happens if you get sick and need to throw up from your lower stomach? How can it get up through your upper stomach past the band and out of your mouth? Curious???
  23. Hey, how are ya feelin? I'm assuming all went well for you. Give us an update. What kinda stuff are you drinking?
  24. I was in the Informational seminar August 9th, nutrition seminar on August 12th., Psych. eval. on August 13th. And yes, the psych. eval. was CRAZY!!! I was making all kinds of faces at some of those stupid questions. Do I love my Dad? Do I love my Mom? Wow...nuts. Dr. Behrman was a nice man though. I'm ready for this to be done and over so I can go back to eating NORMAL food again. I do NOT like Medifast and by far the eggs are the worst!!! Anyway, good luck to you too. Yes, I plan to go to support meetings.
