  1. Hey Ashley! I fell off the wagon too....went on a long trip to Ireland and it was so difficult....but I am vowed to stay with this and get off sugar again too! We can do this I know we can! Thanks for sharing! susan
  2. Dr. Curry was $13,000.00. That includes two years of fills and followup with his dieticians. I think they have a great program and I would highly recommend them to anyone.
  3. I was just relaying what my doctor just told me, sorry for the confusion, I think its best to see your own doctor
  4. Hey My husband and I are getting ready to fly on a trip. My doc says to not eat on the flight because of tightness in the air. Does anyone know if you are allowed to drink?
  5. I also would not worry about slippage yet either, it does sound like you are too tight. My doc says slippage happens mostly later, like a year or so out and if you don't follow the rules. I know that when you are too tight you can't even swallow your spit. I would just wait until the doc sees you! Hang in there
  6. I don't have any good recipes with lentils, but I do eat a lot of split pea and black bean soup. Good luck, I'll be happy to share these recipes. suse
  7. Thanks Cher for the hints! I think the 3 rules are great to remind all of us. I have only had one fill and have to really remind myself to eat slowly and take small bites. thanks susan
  8. Angel I have heard two weeks. I also have a hot tub and I am three weeks out from surgery. I am going to play it safe and wait about a month or two. Unless you really keep your hot tub well santitized. My dr.s office says its the biggest breeding ground for germs and I don't want to take the risk! Take a long hot shower and some aleve! I have artritis too! Good Luck susan
  9. great recipes, thanks for sharing!
  10. Brog you're hilarious! I am in Bandster hell right now. Just two weeks out and about two weeks until my first fill. My hunger just came back! I'm trying hard to pretend its still the same but now I can tell I am healing! Can't wait for that first fill! Hang in there susan
  11. Hey Maribelle! I was banded by Dr. C about two weeks ago. I just got back from my meeting with the dietician. Although I have not had my first fill yet, I am still trying to eat just about a cup of food each time. And I am also writing down everything. My hardest thing to do is make sure that I get enough water. I am still eating a lot of chili and I am trying to be careful so that I don't stretch out my new stomach! I hope that helps. I figured I paid enough for this that I am going to try to make it work! Good luck susan
  12. Hey! I am two weeks since surgery, thanks for the info about the fill. I get my first one in two weeks. I feel pretty good now, I start on soft foods tomorrow! Did you feel restriction after this fill? susan
  13. I agree with all the above. But I also loved warm chicken broth, yogurt tasted good after a few days. I think it is important to take the medicine around the clock also, and make sure you have a heating pad for the gas pains. I had Isopure frim GNC to make sure I was getting enough Protein. I am one week out now and still use these things. Also, I tried to sip Water all the time to keep hydrated! And orange Crystal Light. Good Luck susan
  14. Hey Marti! It sounds like you are doing great! Congrats on the 14 pounds. I have lost about 18 counting my pre-surgery diet! I am one week out of surgery and feeling great! I have learned from another bandster to put my fork down between bites. It is harder to eat slow, I am having trouble with drinking slowly, I have always been a gulper! By the way I am from Stockton, now living in the midwest! Good luck to you on your fill! Susan
  15. You will do fine. I am One week out and just stopped taking my meds. I feel great because of the weight I am losing. If you just stick with what the doc tells you, get plenty of rest, you will do fine. I am 52 and I can't believe how much better my feet and knees feel for the weight I lost before and now after surgery. Just keep your eye on the goal ahead and keep reminding yourself it will be all worth it! susan
