  2. Hey Becky!

Its susan how are you? I am going in for my second fill tomorrow. I have done pretty well, but I definitely need that next fill. I have really started excercising about 6 days a week and that is going well. I am anxious to see how much I have lost tomorrow. Keep in touch! blessings

    Cincinnati Bandsters

Dr. Curry was $13,000.00. That includes two years of fills and followup with his dieticians. I think they have a great program and I would highly recommend them to anyone.
  4. I was just relaying what my doctor just told me, sorry for the confusion, I think its best to see your own doctor
  5. Hey My husband and I are getting ready to fly on a trip. My doc says to not eat on the flight because of tightness in the air. Does anyone know if you are allowed to drink?

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Hey everyone! I didn't know there was a 50's and older forum! I've had one fill and have hit a bit of a plateau, but the good thing is that my workouts are consistant and I am hanging in there to bust this plateau! Would love to hear from any other bansters of any age!
  7. I also would not worry about slippage yet either, it does sound like you are too tight. My doc says slippage happens mostly later, like a year or so out and if you don't follow the rules. I know that when you are too tight you can't even swallow your spit. I would just wait until the doc sees you! Hang in there
  8. Love your idea for the star bucks protein shake! I had some old medifast to use up and tried the pumkin spice recipe on the side. It is very good, just use one envelope of the vanilla mix and all Cinnamon, and pumkin pie spice to this.....it would also work with vanilla protein powder, also vanilla pudding with protein powder, Good luck

    Hot tub?

Angel I have heard two weeks. I also have a hot tub and I am three weeks out from surgery. I am going to play it safe and wait about a month or two. Unless you really keep your hot tub well santitized. My dr.s office says its the biggest breeding ground for germs and I don't want to take the risk! Take a long hot shower and some aleve! I have artritis too! Good Luck susan

    did everyone feel this

Brog you're hilarious! I am in Bandster hell right now. Just two weeks out and about two weeks until my first fill. My hunger just came back! I'm trying hard to pretend its still the same but now I can tell I am healing! Can't wait for that first fill! Hang in there susan
  16. Hey Maribelle! I was banded by Dr. C about two weeks ago. I just got back from my meeting with the dietician. Although I have not had my first fill yet, I am still trying to eat just about a cup of food each time. And I am also writing down everything. My hardest thing to do is make sure that I get enough water. I am still eating a lot of chili and I am trying to be careful so that I don't stretch out my new stomach! I hope that helps. I figured I paid enough for this that I am going to try to make it work! Good luck susan
  17. Hi Ann

Just wondering how you are doing? I saw Dr. Curry yesterday, I am down 171/2 lbs. I am really happy with that. Have you had your first fill yet? Mine is schueduled for Oct 14. Today I saw the dietician and also the new trainer Megan. Are you going to take advantage of the one week free of Fast Track? I am thinking of going for the support group and clothing exchange on Oct. 4.I thought it might be a good time to go to see the leaves changing and also get some good support. The drive from my house to Cincinnati is beautiful right now.

    take care

    My First Fill

Hey! I am two weeks since surgery, thanks for the info about the fill. I get my first one in two weeks. I feel pretty good now, I start on soft foods tomorrow! Did you feel restriction after this fill? susan
  20. I agree with all the above. But I also loved warm chicken broth, yogurt tasted good after a few days. I think it is important to take the medicine around the clock also, and make sure you have a heating pad for the gas pains. I had Isopure frim GNC to make sure I was getting enough Protein. I am one week out now and still use these things. Also, I tried to sip Water all the time to keep hydrated! And orange Crystal Light. Good Luck susan

    Anyone older than me?

Hey Marti! It sounds like you are doing great! Congrats on the 14 pounds. I have lost about 18 counting my pre-surgery diet! I am one week out of surgery and feeling great! I have learned from another bandster to put my fork down between bites. It is harder to eat slow, I am having trouble with drinking slowly, I have always been a gulper! By the way I am from Stockton, now living in the midwest! Good luck to you on your fill! Susan

    Anyone older than me?

You will do fine. I am One week out and just stopped taking my meds. I feel great because of the weight I am losing. If you just stick with what the doc tells you, get plenty of rest, you will do fine. I am 52 and I can't believe how much better my feet and knees feel for the weight I lost before and now after surgery. Just keep your eye on the goal ahead and keep reminding yourself it will be all worth it! susan
  23. Hey Just checkin in. When is your surgery date? I am feeling great! It has been one week!Yippee I'm gettin skinny!

  24. Hey Ann

I'm doin great, finally came off my meds yesterday. My shoulder pain has finally gone and I am really trying to track my food. What are you eating? I have tried to have protein almost every meal. Think I have lost about 18 since before surgery with the medfast. When do you go back to the dr?

    Take CARe

    susan

  25. Hi salome I just had my band a week ago today. I think the biggest thing that had helped me was the heating pad. I did not have much stomach pain but I did get the shoulder pain. Just remember to take it easy the first week. I pretty much laid around and I also stayed up on my meds, so I was never in pain much. I read and reread the rules of the lapband, and I had all the necessary things on hand. I also liked warn chicken broth afterwards, and was so happy that I was losing weight that I was willing to try anything. Good luck to you and you will do fine! susan
