Food Before and After Photos
Reminds me of being a student, buying end of day sale items and cobbling a meal together. I did wonder why you needed to make a screwdriver ? did you forget a tin opener ? What did you make it from ? Then the bubble burst and I realised you meant a drink ! Hope it all goes smoothly for you.

Spinach made my teeth weird.
I buy the chopped frozen variety. Drop it in a good pan, as it comes out of the packet, without water. Slowly defrost it, it only takes a few minutes. I add a small amount of cream cheese, garlic and a few scrapes of nutmeg. No waste, no fuss. Delicious.

Food Before and After Photos
Massive soup fan too. We had Brocolli and stilton this week because the brocolli was 9 pence a bunch. Next to make will be carrot and coriander because the carrots were the same price. Easter bargains. In summer we love gazpacho, the one with almonds is lush.

What to say to friends who think that surgery is “cheating” or lazy
Its not easy, even I thought it would be easier than it was. I thought I was in the know too. Maintenance isn't easy. So they are not friends if they dont back you. I told my husband and son and my two besties from our ancient school days. I was backed by them. I told no one else until weight loss began to show. I only told three people who asked how I had done it and they were very obese too. The rest got the ' oh I have been walking a lot lately' or I stopped eating carbs. Judgers will always judge, its human nature. Wise words

All aboard the TRAIN to Medellin Colombia for Plastics
Please let us know how you get on, huge congratulations on your progress. You deserve the bonus. I too have heard great things about Colombia. P.S. I wouldn't try to climb those steps even if Jason Mamoa was waiting at the top for me naked. My poor knee is screaming just looking at them. Nooooooo.....well maybe

Wine Tasting
In your circumstance I would say that I am on antibiotics and not allowed alcohol. Then you could say you would have a sneaky taste of all the wine but not a big glass. I was allowed alcohol after surgery but stayed to low alcohol drinks for a while to test it on my body. Even now I would be smashed on a glass of wine. I keep my drinks long and slowly drink them. I have never dumped just gotten giddy mighty quick.

UK Mounjaro friends!
Wow 20 kgs, thats really good. I am so pleased for you that its going so well. Lots of people loose slow when they have had this surgery so don't worry about that. Its the end that matters. I am maintaining now. Its tougher than I thought and my scared fat brain needs to weigh in every day and monitor what is going in my mouth. But I love my new life. I am free of the fat and my mobility is through the roof. I no longer have the eyes that watch my every heavy move because I was always the biggest in the room. Great to hear from you x

Hello kirsten, Happy Easter. How are you doing ?

Post surgery must haves
I echo all the above. Patience, you won't loose every week. You will stall a lot. Use the knowledge on this site. Ask anything and someone will have had that issue. Chapstick, laxatives and Biotin. Lack of liquids does terrible things to our bodies. Dry lips are bad. Waking with a dry mouth is scary. Going over a week without pooping is hurty.

Hair loss ?
I was just getting to desperation point when my hairloss stopped. I had the longest, straightest hair. It was my crowning glory. I had a pixie cut and I almost love it as much. Its a tough time and I hope you can get some answers but I fear it can cost a lot for very few conclusive results

Break-ups ?
I always rate what @The Greater Fool says. He is a straight to the point kinda guy. I was a house mouse. Now I am the total opposite. I need nobody but if you want to come on the ride with me then thats fine. My husband has had to adapt and he is not finding the change easy but he will or ..... ? I am the woman I have waited to be all my life. Don't feel bad, give yourself some time to grieve. A loss takes time to get over.

Polyps diagnosed before surgery
Hi I am sorry to here that. its always disappointing when we can't have our first choice. Unless you already have GERD, there is little difference in the end results of sleeve v the bypass. Both need lots of work on our part and the weight loss is what we are comitted to doing.

Herbalife
I know nothing of Herbalife so I am half informed. I know that any gain in this early stage is of benefit. Its tough to drink enough never mind eat our protein quota. I would say - go with what works for you until you can manage something better.

FINALLLYY PLASTICSS, Advice? Stories? Successes?
In my opinion [ and I am not you or your age ] your arms are great. The brachio surgery is brutal. We use our arms so much, its difficult to imagine how you can manage a week or more without use of them. The scar is big and the main thing that puts me off besides not being able to clean myself. Good luck in everything you decide x

My most favorite soup is chicken carcass broth with barley and finely chopped veg in. I love to get the most out of a chicken.

Female over 55 and VSG scheduled in 2 weeks
Hello and welcome in. There are quite a few posts from us oldies. If you put over 60's or over 55's in the search box you will get pages and pages from ones who are glad they went ahead. The back pages of this forum go back 20+ years and hold a massive input of knowledge. Plenty to keep you busy while you wait. I was 62 when I joined the bandwagon and am now living a life beyond my wildest dreams.

Removed Port scar tissue pain
50+ years ago I was operated on by butcher. He opened me up from my pubic bone to the middle of my ribs. He sure needed lots of room for what is now laproscopic surgery. This mahoosive scar has terrible internal adhesions. My bariatric surgeon kindly repaired a bunch of these. I am telling you this because the adhesions would feel like they were ripping at times. It hurt. I wonder if you are suffering with something similar. Big hugs

How to intake more protein and cals
Deli meats, lightly cooked fish, smoked fish, prawns, tuna, softly scrambled eggs, sashimi and cheese were my go to things. As you can see I craved the salty side. At the end of the day I would finish with a protein yogurt or protein pudding and a latte or a glass of milk, plain or made into a protein milkshake made with PB2 powder and banana

Weight Loss Stalled on LRD
This is a toughest part of the surgery . No person in the world [or so it seems] has the same pre op diet as you, so its difficult to equate. Some have dieted before hand and some like me had lots of food funerals. I did mine for 3 weeks and lost 15 pounds. You are going well. Call your team if you have been in a stall longer than you think you should. Doing this process you will get lots of baffling losses and plateaus. Its just your body wondering why you are not feeding it the same as before. It took me 2 years to loose my weight, be patient . Stick rigidly to your teams regimen. Your liver will tell them if you have cheated or not. They won't operate if your liver is fatty. It makes it fragile to move away from the surgery site.

I did it!
Congratulations on doing so well. Could I add a polite word of warning, Don't do too much too soon just because you feel so well at the moment. Its big surgery and the biggest part of it is inside you and you can't see it healing.

What Are Some Things That Surprised You After Surgery?
I still get terribly cold. Yesterday I felt so terribly ill with it.

So Scared Now, Please HELP!
We would come down like a ton of bricks on someone who was mean on here. Its a safe place. People come for advice and reassurance and because I was helped I am paying it forward. I might add that it keeps me on track too so I am not as selfless as I seem. This is wise, I told only my husband and son. It was my decision to do this and like you I didn't want to listen to any negativity. Yes you will, I do. But in the beginning few days its a scary struggle and I did panic at this stage but we all got there. I got to a size and weight where I was happy. You then up your calories, a little each week until you get to the point where you stop loosing weight. Its really simple but takes a little courage to let go a bit.

So Scared Now, Please HELP!
If its not your time to do this surgery then cancel. You will know when its your time to do it. I can tell you that you may come to regret your earlier cancellation. My advice to you is try and chat on here, we understand. We care. Stay off the other sites, they are not doing you any favours. You don't realise that people who have no issues after surgery don't post. If you have a problem, you ask for help. Thats why you are seeing 'bad' posts. I will not lie to you, I had issues. I had very swollen internal cut lines. It took a while to eat easily and initially drinling was tough. I had a great team behind me and I stayed in hospital an extra 4 days. I could see them monthly and weekly if I needed and speak to a dietician everyday if I needed. I didn't. 3+ years after surgery, I can honestly tell you that I love this new me. I am bloody gorgeous lols. Yes I had a couple of months where I struggled but I feel its worth it. I was a disabled woman who hid in her house. I was so unhappy. Now I go on holidays abroad, sometimes alone. Always accept friends invites and totally live a full life. I can eat everything and anything, just in small portions. I will always be thankful to the surgeon who took me as a patient, I had so many weight related issues he could have refused me. Now I live instead of existing
