Just returned from vacation on June 25, 2006, no problems at all. I also asked my doctor before going and he stated no such thing can happen because the band is not impacted by air pressure.

My very first vacation without the thought of food!!! I enjoyed water aerobics, the gym, walking on the beach in the sand, shopping and just staying active having so much more energy. My hubby, two sons and I went to West Palm Shores Resort in Florida for 8 days just returning on Sunday, June 25, 2006. What a since of accomplishment! I had my 3rd fill a week before going on vacation, which puts me at a total of 1.6 cc in a 4 cc band. Needed very little food to get full and went to a buffet and did not eat anything because I was not hungry but my hubby and boys were. This is probably the 1st vacation I ever lost weight on.:clap2:

Keekahari, Keep up the great job you are doing for a soon to be banded lady. Did you get approved and/or do you have a surgery date? Keep us posted!

Dr. Greene is a very caring and personable doctor. He completed my surgery on April 4, 2006, and have not had any complications as he is a very proactive and precautious doctor. I highly recommend him. Good luck.

Piercedqt78, first your dog is so precious and as someone else stated she does look like a Boxer. We purchased a Boxer in March for our 10 year old son's birthday. He is just gorgeous but like you stated it is more work than a baby. His name is Tyson Ali and he is brindle. He will be 6 months old on June 30, 2006. Good luck with your new family member.

My 1st fill I received 1cc, 2nd fill .3cc, and 3rd fill .3cc and I feel great hardly ever hungry so I guess that may be might sweet spot.

I was banded April 4, 2006, and have had 3 fills that total 1.6 cc. I have pretty good restriction but wanted to know how fills and cc's did it take for you to hit your sweet spot? Thank you

Banded April 4, 2006, by Dr. Barry Greene at Shady Grove Hospital, Rockville, MD and I am down 28 pounds.

I am like most as to my stomach can't tolerate breakfast in the morning so I force down a mini carb control yogurt or a handful of already peeled sunflower seeds. My coffee is all that I really want until about noon or 1:00 pm but realizing breakfast is the most important meal and jumpstarts the metabolism.

I say pay the $500 dollars at least you don't have to pay the $14,000. At least that is the way I looked at it. My doc $500 fee is for hajving access to a personal trainer for 8 sessions, a nutrionist, a therapist, if needed. I paid that with much happiness since I was approved by UHC. Don't start over it just takes too long and why put yourself through unncessary stress. GOODLUCK!

Hello my fellow April Bandits, I was banded on April 4, 2006, and I had my 1st fill on May 18th of 1cc and my 2nd fill of .3cc on June 1, 2006. Restriction is pretty good as I don't want to look at or smell food until 12:00 noon or so. It's amazing as my whole perception of food has changed and I am loving every minute of it. I wish you all much success and lets stay in touch!!

This thread is awesome!!!! I have a 5 month Boxer. His name is Tyson. He is brindle with a black mask. He is so lovable and loves children. He is just like having a real baby. We took all of his toys out of the living room and put them back in his room and crate. Do you know this little man went downstairs and carry each and every toy back to the living room one by one. My living room looks as though I have an infant baby. He is just so happy, playful and very active. I highly recommend boxers.

Hairagain, I went yesterday for my 2nd fill and I got .3cc, which total 1.3cc. 4cc at one time seems like alot. Good luck with your restriction. I am having great success and did as well with the 1st fill. I can't nor do I want to eat anything until around 12:00 or 1:00pm.

Banded on April 4, 2006, and my husband is the only person who knows not even my 10 and 18 year old sons. I'm a private person and I just did not and do not want people questioning me about my decision. Losing weight with the lapband is no so dramatic that people will think anything other than oh she must be dieting and excersing.

I had the worst experience with chicken for the 1st time yesterday. It was BBQ grilled without the skin. I ate two bites and experienced the worst pain in my chest. I was at work so I quickly went to the ladies room and the slimming began then finished with vomiting several small times. It could have been because I was really busy at work and did not realize I ate it too fast. I threw the entire remaining chicken in the trash. Don't think I will have that anytime soon. Also, I have no desire to eat anything in the morning.

My first fill was 1cc and my 2nd fill is scheduled for tomorrow but I have really good restriction so I may cancel and reschedule my appt. What do you guys think???

Yvonne, I was given the run around with UHC here in Maryland i.e. giving inaccurate and conflicting information from the UHC customer service reps. It was very exhausting to the point I was not sleeping well, very irritiable and was about to give up, but I redirecting my energy and fought it through and it was approved. So, please hang in there because I believe they want to discourage people so they have less surgeries to pay for. FYI...my Weight Watcher's records accounted for my 6 month dieting. Don't give it and you will win!!
