November Surgery Buddies!!!
It might just be the gas from surgery. Walking helps. If you feel like your heart rhythm is abnormal, you probably should go to your dr or urgent care so they can listen. The surgery sent my heart into an abnormal rhythm and I ended up having to stay over a week while they figured out what drugs to use to slow it down. Hope you’re okay.

New benginnings…
I had sleeve. I’ve been having protein shakes, crystal light, bone broth with hot sauce and protein powder, fage 0% yogurt with tajin seasoning, a little cream of wheat with broth, and protein water. I’m getting pretty tired of the full liquids.

Surgery nerves
I was very afraid too. The time went fast and the next thing I knew it was surgery day. The first 48 hours were the toughest. Just remember to walk as much as you can. I did 10 minute walks every hour during the day. I think it helped to get my stomach settled. The first sips were yucky. Room temp crystal light is what tasted best to me. Hang in there, you’ll do fine!

November Surgery Buddies!!!
I’m right with you. I cannot wait to start purée on Tuesday. I’m so tired of liquids. I took a 1 mile walk today and had still have shoulder pain. Does the gas cause pain 2 weeks out? I lost 16 in pre-op and 6 since surgery on 11/9. Hope everyone is feeling well.

Thanksgiving Purée
I was wondering if the VSG veterans who were in the purée stage for Thanksgiving have any food recommendations for the big day. Looks like I’ll be able to taste mashed potatoes and plain sweet potatoes. Would deviled egg filling be too rich? I hit purée stage this Tuesday and cannot wait! Any purée advice is appreciated. Congratulations to everyone!

Vitamin schedule question
I had my sleeve surgery on 11/9 and purchased chewable bariatric advantage vitamins and calcium chews. The multivitamin is 2 per day. Can I take them both at the same time with breakfast and then the calcium chew at lunch, dinner, and bedtime? I’m going to switch to the one a day when I run out of these.

Isopure unflavored. You might want to try injury chicken broth flavored too.- November Surgery Buddies!!!
I had a heart issue after my surgery so I am just on my way home from the hospital now after a week. I felt pretty good after 2 days but had to stay in the hospital until they found a drug that would work for me. Water is going down easily and I’m on full liquids. I don’t think I lost anything in the hospital with the IVs.- Lemon salt tajin? I
tajin is tasty on plain Greek yogurt.- Protein Shake Auditions
I like the strawberry banana too. I didn’t think I would because I usually don’t like fruity shakes, but it’s really tasty.- Protein Shake Auditions
Fair life Core power strawberry banana is good. So is unjury strawberry powder. They both really surprised me.- Sipping water
I was worried about this, but I can take pretty big sips after a few days.- Medications
I walked quite a bit in the hospital the first two days to get the gas out. Had Tylenol for pain and was off it by day 4.- November Surgery Buddies!!!
I know. I feel like I’m trapped in the hospital. I feel fine from the surgery and liquids are going down fine. I still have an IV, so I’m not really counting the oz. of liquid. Just had my 1st little BM. I feel a little bloated, but maybe there is still some gas hanging around. It’s not really painful like it was before. I’m starting to wonder if the heart meds are going through my stomach too fast causing them not to be absorbed.- November Surgery Buddies!!!
Unfortunately I’m still in the hospital. My heart didn’t react well to the surgery so they have been trying various drugs to get my heart to beat normally. So far no luck. As far as the surgery, I just feel a twinge of pain now and then. I stopped taking Tylenol yesterday. I’m on clear liquids through Tuesday and the liquids are going down without any problems. Some of the drugs they are giving me are pills and capsules and I’m able to swallow them without crushing. The first two days were the worst for me. Once I was able to drink something, watered down Crystal lite lemonade was what I preferred. Water tasted really nasty at first, but it’s okay now. Hope everyone is on the road to recovery!- November Surgery Buddies!!!
Sounds like you’re doing great. I’m still working on my 8 oz bottle of water. My nausea has improved from yesterday. - I’m so over protein shakes
