Sugar Free/fake sweeteners drinks
I wish I drank/liked coffee. I never liked it. The coffee with caramel sounds good even though I wouldn't try it. I was told that we can NEVER have soda again in our lifetime! My surgeons staff drilled it into my head a million times because I was addicted to diet coke. I had to wean myself off a few months before surgery. Drinking less, and less, until I was only drinking water. Approx. 2 weeks before surgery, I was down to the tiny cans, and couldn't even finish them. I didn't enjoy it the way I had in the past. I mean, I was drinking like a 2 liters a day. I think that this is where the dislike for fake sweeteners started? I will have to see if I can find drinks with the Monk fruit that you are talking about. I have never heard of this. Is this something new? Do you know of any good drinks to try with it?

Sugar Free/fake sweeteners drinks
Now that I am almost 6 months post op, I decided to drink something other than just plain water. I tried Crystal Light, and it was disgusting! I tried 3 diff flavors, and just do not like the after taste. Then I decided to try diet ice tea by Snapple, and thought that was also nasty, and left an after taste. Hubby bought me some sugar free cocoa, and again it is gross, and leaves a weird after taste. Is this happening to anyone else? What is everyone drinking at this point? I am so sick of plain water.

Drinking & Eating at the same time
Thanks everyone. I literally for the first time, had a sip of water while eating yesterday. I had to because the food was dry, and I started coughing a lot. I was scared, and did not know what to expect, but I was fine after. I certainly wouldn't gulp anything down while eating. Knowing, if I have to take a sip isn't going to make me sick makes me feel a whole lot better.

Tummy Tuck
Did you have the tummy tuck, or a diff procedure? I don't have so much skin hanging like I thought I would. I won't require skin removal, so that is why I said tummy tuck instead. I noticed skin sagging around my hips also.

SpongeBob
This surgery has got me looking like SpongeBob square pants. I have lost so much weight in my bottom half, and am noticeably bigger on top. My legs are like little chicken legs, my ass is completely gone, and flatter than a pancake. I am a medium bottom, and large top. Is this happening to anyone else?

Cool Sculpting
Has anyone heard of this? Cool sculpting? I am considering this instead of cosmetic surgery aka tummy tuck, etc. It is a procedure where you just lie there, they put something on your belly, and it freezes the fat. The area treated never grows fat again? Has anyone had this done? If so, what were the results, and how long post op where you?

Keeping surgery a secret? What did you tell others?
I only told my husband, and parents. When others started noticing my weight loss, they never asked me if I had the surgery. I just accepted the compliments, and never told them. I think everyone just thinks I was dieting? It is no ones business how, or why we do it. If anyone asks me specifically, I am not sure what I would say.

Altoids
Has anyone else tried to eat mints, or gum? When my belly feels sick, I just eat an Altoid, and it helps a lot!

Excessive Phlegm
Has anyone experienced lots of phlegm while eating? It is really bad. I have to spit after almost every bite of food I take. Not spitting the food out, but after I swallow the food.

Drinking & Eating at the same time
How long will it take to be able to drink, and eat at the same time? I am so sick of waiting for 30 minutes before and after. Sometimes when I eat, the food gets stuck, and I need to drink, but I am scared to. I am almost 6 months post op.

Where do you get your protein goal from?
I eat cottage cheese, nut butter, and yogurt as snacks to get protein. You could also try soft fish. It has a lot of protein in it.

Can I eat candy

Curious... How long before you could eat your first piece of pizza?
What a great idea! I never thought of that. I am going to do the same thing. I can only eat 1 pc of small cheese, and then feel so full after.

I hate food....
I feel your pain. I could not eat, or drink for a month after surgery. It made me so nauseous. If I even took a sip of water, I was sick. My doc gave me a script for patches you wear behind your ear for nausea. It helped a lil bit. Please be careful though, I ended up in the hospital because I was so dehydrated. I had to go twice, and spend almost the whole day there getting IV's. The second month got a tiny bit better, after that it will get increasingly better. I thought it never would. Now I am 6 months post op, and I am doing so much better.

4 days post op and I’M STARVING!!!
Wow, I am 6 months post op, and I never feel hungry. I have to force myself to eat. Whatever you do, don't eat anything with sugar. I made that mistake and was so sick.
