  1. 2flyguys, you sound like your doing great as well, keep up the good work!
  2. I am a waitress at restaurant and had not seen a table of regulars in a couple of weeks as they were on vacation. When they walked in one morning they started saying oh my god, and you are slimming down,. It felt nice to know that people can tell. I can tell in my clothes but otherwise I still feel like the same ol' me. I am hoping as I continue to prosper with this band I will start having the self esteem to see myself different.
  3. Does anyone know when the May meeting is. I have school on Monday nights in APril and therefore can't get to those meetings. I am hoping to be able to attend this summer, and meet many of you.
  4. Tickerfactory.com. Then you design it and edit your signature on lapbandtalk.com and paste it in. BTW good luck with your surgery, and congrats on the start of a happier and healthier you.
  5. I find that if I eat at night before bed, which I try hard not to do, I have nightmares. They can be about anything, it's weird. I can't wait to have dreams where I am skinny in them lol....
  6. I would hold off as well. You do not want to sabotage your weight loss or overfill yourself. Save the money and buy some new clothes or something. It seems as if you are doing excellent. Keep up the good work.
  7. Glad to hear you are doing better kimmie!!!
  8. Welcome Jenni, and keep us updated.
  9. your reintroducing carbs into your day, going from liquid to that sometimes causes weight gain. They call this period of time between surgery day to first fill, bandster hell, so relax and focus on the beginning of your journey. The doc told me not to focus so much on the scale but to focus on making healthy choices and exercising. So good luck and try not to weigh yourself so much, I still have a problem with that. I weigh myself like 10 times a day but remember they say a person's weight can fluctuate 8 lbs a day, thats a lot, so don't worry.
  10. Good luck to you 2!!!!
  11. Getting banded is definitely a difficult process. However it has also saved my life and for that I do not regret one second of it. I love my band and will continue being an advocate for the lapband system.
  12. Good luck Shannon. Enjoy the entrance to a happier and healthier life!
  13. I also was not made to do a preop liquid diet. I was however made to lose 20 lbs before surgery. It was difficult but from September till the day of my surgery I was not able to cheat or have one last meal lol. But you know what I figured I rather be heading in the right direction then mourning food. I am so happy that I was able to get banded that I didnt need that last few days of eating normally.
  14. Just stopping by and saying Happy Easter to everyone. Good luck in making those positive choices, especially on stressful days such as holidays. How is everyone doing? Everyone feeling good? Hope all is well.
  15. good luck, bring a pillow with you for the ride home just in case you go over any bumps.
  16. my surgeon said walking would not hurt right after surgery but any heavy lifting would have to wait until 6 weeks after surgery. I would say as long as it's low impact and not weights , whenever you are feeling better would probably be fine.
  17. Good luck on Monday!! I will definitely have to that powerade out.
  18. I felt exactly the same way and here I am 60 pounds down. I won't lie to you it is hard, very hard. Every day is a struggle to make the right decisions , and to stay focused but it works. It's a tool , a tool that you must work with as well. Good luck to you , it will all work out.
  19. welcome and congrats on a happier and healthier you!

  22. my surgeon does a similar thing as well. My port is also located about 2 inches down from my largest incision. I can definitely feel it when I lay down, doesnt really bother me.
