Steak Temperature
I have tested this with my brother who also had the surgery - Here is my key hope it works for you Sous Vide - Our favorite is skirt steak - I buy the a big bag from Restaurant Depot and take a long time cleaning it and removing all the fat. Then I beat the hell out of it and use a needle tenderizer. Then Marinade it with Lime juice Pineapple and into the Sous Vide. let it cook for about 6 hours at 125 degrees. No flash it on the grill supper hot for one minute a side. Key is it is tender and moist and will go down easy. The Sous Vide machine is the greatest machine i bought for cooking protein keeps it moist and tender

New... question about psych evaluation
Was a joke my view - It is a cover your ass the doctor and insurance companies do. They ask you a series of questions to make sure you are mentally able to make this decision. Now I see dead people and definitely have a screw loose and I passed. Just kidding They also have to make sure you can deal with the Head issues that come full blown with the surgery.

I feel discouraged.
That is alot of calories especially if you have medical issues that cause weight gain and not active - I currently am running on 400-500 calories a day and loose weight every week - STOP checking your weight every day you will drive yourself nuts. I weigh in every Sunday Morning and record - My goal is 5.5 pounds per week. I hit it every week by controlling intake and moving about I also use a nutritionist and she has me at 450 a day - so not sure where the 1000 came from. I agree with above it is been said that the long run you should be higher - My attitude is this lets loose it all and figure that out later

Gas Pains
You have to figure out what pops the gas - For me it was walking and Bending over and just moving around - Also be careful you may be drinking and eating at the same pace as before surgery - SIP water really slowly small amounts. I also do agree on Breathing Techniques. Sounds silly but if you can get your hands on a Sleep Ap machine really helps with Breathing and Air. To this day I still get flare ups of the Air - Not as painful but you learn what works - I lay accross my counter in L position and that seems to help also - The pool and Hot tubs also free it up - You will find your niche

Keeping your head on straight is hard, DO NOT SECOND GUESS YOU WILL BE AMAZED WHAT CAN BE DONE IN 90 DAYS FROM NOW

Mother’s bizarre behavior after my surgery
My view - This was my decision to live longer and healthier, I could give a hoot what others think or feel. I have heard it all also. - You cheated from my 19yr old who did loose 77 pounds on his own - Not all of us can afford it? Well work a second job not my fault - Your attitude has changed, No not really my appearance has changed and you are judging me by how i look - You cant go out to eat or drinks. Yes i can just wont graze on 50 wings, 2 dozen oysters, and 12 drinks, sorry all good with 3 shrimp and a few drinks Bottom line who the f**k really cares what anyone says, It is your body your decision and your money.

Did It Work?
This post is common - I have no idea how you can eat a 14 oz steak after this surgery I am lucky if i can eat 4oz. You are at a crossroads, same position most of us hit. You are head hungry not really hungry, sorry seems brutal but once the shock and awe was over you are losing the battle in your head not your stomach. My view is you need a nutritionist or a deep study into nutrition. The surgery is a tool it shrunk your stomach by 85% and removed the nerves that made you feel hungry. Couple of things you did not mention you should be filling up on Protein Shakes Loaded with vitamins and supplements. This will make you feel incredible without calories. I am out about 120 days and there is not a chance in hell i would try and eat steak or any solid hard food. I suggest you set a daily routine - If you read around here there are a ton of people who have posted there Routine. here is mine set by a Paid Nutritionist 1. Breakfast - 10 oz protien shake 30g protien 20 Calories, Two heaping Yogurt spoon fulls Vitamin Powder and Supplement Powder. I also add a few pieces of fruit for taste - 8 blueberrys or 3 cut peaches or a few strawberrys- You drink this over 30 min and no way you are hungry! 2. 10:00 Am - A Protien Bar - High end good quaility Bar - If i need it usually dont 3. Lunch - This is a tough one for me due to work so usually - Handful of peanuts, granola or maybe some chuncked fish or turkey 4. 2:00 Here comes another Protien shake - Usually add Peanut butter or some other funky Yogurt etc 5. 5:30 By dinner i am whipped so really have no desire to eat, usually skip about half the time - Scallops, Shrimp, Fish or a simple protein, Side is usually some small veggie 6. 40oz water a day - I CAN SAY I HATE WATER BUT IT IS A KEY TO FLUSHING OUT AND KEEPING THE KETOSIS GOING. i have this down where i can adjust my loss from .05 pounds per day up to 3/4 a day - I am also very active so that really helps me out. Summary - You have completed step one the surgery - Step two is the diet and intake - The mind is brutal on this surgery and head games to me are harder then the dang surgery to me - You said size i have gone from a size 50 pants to 42 currently and this is the reward! We all were food addicted no doubt - THe US is freakin disgusting with how we eat, Huge portions, all processed and filled with sugar. Good luck and you will get it - I have stalled a few times due to Vodka and M and M's so its not like your alone

Anyone have gastric sleeve surgery with BMI of 32 or less?
My bmi was 32 but the main problem i had was how i carried the weight, Even though i was pushing 350 i was still very very active, on my feet all the time and carried it well. but I did have the Cardiac event and went down hard - Ended up with a Stint with a huge blockage of the widow maker! This was the main reason i chose the surgery to shag 100 pounds and get healthy. So far so good - but sure have a problem letting go of the vodka. Not even 90 days in yet but so far going well I paid cash for my surgery so cant help with the insurance issues,

CHEWABLE MULTIVITAMINS???
I hired a nutritionist and did blood work - Due to the fact I am very active i needed to really load up on the Vitamins. I choose to use the powders and add to my protein shakes - Get it all done in 8oz I found the GNC 50+ has the most vitamins and Supplements on the market - Once i complete the barrel I have will look for another powder - like alot of people here the chewables just were not right for me and stuck in my stomach - I highly suggest you get them all balanced and sorted out - You would be amazed the change in blood work after just 30 days of not eating
-
Had surgery earlier today and feel good
Congrads - Since my brother did it first he suggested highly that you get moving. I gotta admit i was walking the Hospital and out the next morning. Unlike all you lucky ones i had a ton of pain with mine but only for a few weeks. Good luck and New life about to start - Enjoy the ride
