  1. Will you come on down and cook for us!!! WOW, looks DELISH! BTW, my sister lives in Marblehead - And, there's nothing like a New England steamed lobster! When speaking earlier about simplifying - I can now enjoy a lobster without all the rich dips into warm butter and of course, the johnny cakes to go with it. Or, like here in the South - corn frites or cornbread. Tried a piece of California Pizza Kitchen's cauliflower crust slice - it wasn't too bad.
  2. Hi Kaki68 - You are definitely a STAR at any weight or stage! Please excuse my delay in reply here. I have a project deadline by the end of the month, but will definitely follow-up with the mindset + strategies that helped me make it to the penthouse as Dr. V refers. Meanwhile, the books I've posted here are a worthy read and a wealth of information on food science that may just apply to your current situation... Keeping in mind, each body is unique to one's self and one size plan does not fit all. Productive efforts, positive changes and advances internally do not always show up on the scale or inches, at first glance. Your body will sense your frustration and shut down. Give to yourself grace body, soul and mind. Looking into possible hormone issues is great step towards self care and self love. And, remember when our parents use to say, Rome was not built in a day! Hugs.
  3. Me three. I find my interests no longer entertain what the next meal is going to be. I've found and savor the simple, clean and uncomplicated dish mostly. Today, I made this navy bean soup with cumin in the instant pot - And, WA LA...instant dinner containing a balance of nutrients. Hubby likes the lean ham and bacon. I like the hint of flavor they add to the broth and beans...

Okay, then! Our resident Bond girl kills it with her British khaki raincoat. Love that peep of a wash board tummy. Now, I need a rain coat. Hope your team won! x o ;]
  5. Love him, too! Eat a wonderful salad everyday. Hubby enjoys a green smoothie each morning. Most thankful and glad to have made it to the penthouse! Dr. V is spot on when stating so many in the field often have such low expectations for their patients. As my Naval Academy father use to say, "If you're going to do something half-assed, don't do it at all!" Dad was and Dr. Vuong is a colorful communicator, but I've never doubted his sincerity, intelligence + care for the bari community. Ditto... very supportive, informative and encouraging! ;]
  6. Refreshing salad for lunch today, too. Slivered cauliflower, dates, green olives, raw walnuts, white raisins on bed of greens. Made an orange citrus vinaigrette. Ate half. Mr. Sophie enjoyed the rest.
  7. Hi PE - we missed you and your stunning cuisine. This dish is both colorful and scrumptious, I'm sure. One cannot help but smile. Love the complex pops of purple ingredients... AND, you are at GOAL! Yay! Do share with us a picture on the OOTD thread - so we can all celebrate your tremendous success and achievement. Is the garden cottage renovation complete, too? Please share. So excited to see.

Dinner out tonight with hubby. New linen shorts (size 4) and white sandals (size 7). This time last labor day holiday during loosing phase - size 12 shorts and size 8 flats. It feels wonderful this summer to be leaner and lighter at goal. Hoping everyone enjoyed a safe and happy holiday weekend!
  13. Brunch this morning. Protein pancakes made with eggs, cottage cheese and rolled oats and a dab of maple syrup. Used leftover pancakes for little lunch sandwiches. Very filling and satisfying... Yum! ;]

Everyone is looking wonderful! Just look what I've missed... Amazing purse Arab, Incredible abs by Jake, Cool gym digs DT, sss patio dinner dress gorgeous, whose that amazing lady in red by the seaside, stunning sarong wraps on the Kitty, the always fashionable November and a few new comers... Fun! Back from cabin retreat. Wore my favorite cotton T-shirts and stretchies all vacation long. Comfy eyelet cotton dress for errands yesterday. Dinner out tonight with friends, but my toes are still back in that magical gurgling stream.
  15. Missed everyone! Back home after the cabin retreat. We saw lions, tigers and bears, oh my! Actually, just bears. A mama bear and her two cubs then, a juvenile later down the lane. Here's a few great dishes we savored from a roof top restaurant in town. Hubbies homemade strawberry rhubarb pie-ettes for himself and our cabin guests.
  16. OH NO...has Silly Kitty gone vegan on us! Haha. ;]
  17. After this COVID debacle - Let's DO IT! ;]
  18. Had some cauliflower left in the fridge - so tired to replicate this salad we had a few weeks ago at our new fav restaurant. It's thinly sliced raw cauliflower, slivered roasted almonds, sliced dates and kale strips. Tossed and marinated in fresh lemon juice, honey, olive oil with S&P + chili flakes dressing. Shaved Parmesan cheese topping. It was lunch. I ate the entire serving in clear glass bowl.
  19. These are a work of art! And, look delicious, too.
  20. Will you be my tour guide? Let's go to Brisbane and meet up with Ms. Emma Peel!
