YES! The necklace makes a huge difference (for the better ) And good call with the belt change now that the accessories were added...

Ummmm...I love your belt!...but I digress... The t-shirt is doable, but it if you have one with a lower neckline, it may look a teensy bit better. OR...go even higher with like a turtleneck? Whatever you choose, you can't go wrong with that outfit
  3. LOLOLOLzzz. btw, thanks for sharing your ongoing plastics story and pics...I am totally RIVETED.
  4. My NUT instructed me to comprise each of my meals to have 25% of carbs/starches With that said, I told her I wasn't going to do that and instead aimed for less than 25g of NET carbs a day. She was not overly concerned with my chosen course of action.
  5. Well these are pretty cool concept. Better than actual measuring cups/bowls cuz they would be easier to wash/clean!
  6. Seconding @FluffyChix about getting in all my protein requirements with regular food (I'm about 1 year post op). Up until I stopped weight loss efforts (about 7 months post op) I had a daily scoop of protein powder in water and crushed ice, usually at night. I haven't really touched it since. P.S. I still have 1 half-full giant tub each of unflavoured and chocolate protein powder that I need to get creative with...I saw some recipes for protein cookies...
  7. Bwha-hahahahahaha We ❤️ ?
  8. LOL, thanks, but: My ARMS!!! My SIDE-BOOB!!! (and that bikini pic had the wrinkled fabric look above my belly button hidden with a tube top ) Once I get closer to my surgery date, I'll post some Before Pics for posterity. Though I will concede that I came out the other side of this weight loss thing much better than I anticipated I would, skin-wise (thank you, universe). P.S. though don't get me started on the state of my butt...
  9. Yep, my PS surgeon said that I will lose basically nothing in terms of poundage, as I am all skin removal with no significant lipo, if any at all (any lipo, he said he would employ only if he feels the need to contour when he gets in there)
  10. What is your exercise/activity level like? And do you have any muscle-building goals?
  11. It was takeout...I've tried making jerk pork before (both the charred kind and the saucy kind) and just haven't had much success with it...nowhere close to the authentic stuff. I suspect the super-filling aspect of last night's takeout had to do with the relative dryness of the outer bark (though the inside was super-melt-in-mouth moist #sooooYum). P.S. I was looking forward to having some leftovers for a meal later today, but it looks like SOMEONE ate it all!!! Grr.
  12. My team's recommendation was no to carbonated drinks, ever. But they also did say that some people have been knows to drink it and have no ill effects, and its up to me to decide if I want to "risk" it. I did, at about 4 weeks, and I was fine. I'm a year out and I am still drinking it (no pop nor beer though, just plain sparkling water straight or w/ a sugar-free sweetener in it, or as a mixer in cocktails. Oh, and I've had sparkling wine/champagne/mimosas on rare occasions) But I will say I burp ALOT when I drink it. YMMV.
  13. FAB. FAB. FAB. You look amazing ❤️

I know this is an old thread, but had to give props to @336Mike for his awesome assembly of tattoos. I have a small little daisy on my left hip that I got when I was 17. It has no leaves because I couldn't afford the extra colour.... ? Now that I can probably afford a rainbow of colours (lol), I am mulling the idea of getting a larger one on my back of something undetermined OR a strategically placed one on my upper arm(s) to cover possible arm lift scars...
  15. Yay! Have a great surgery day
  16. Day 19: What splurge item to you own that you are most grateful for? I'd have to say the upgraded features package we got on my car. Totally don't need any of those features, but man, now that I have them, I dunno how I can drive a car without.
  17. We already had our Thanksgiving last month, and you know what? I didn't even have any stuffing, and it is historically hands down my favourite thanksgiving menu item!! I miss my aunt's stuffing which had turkey innard bits in it. Note to self: find a low-carb stuffing recipe...

Ok, Ok, Ok, my photo-taking method is using the "Markup" feature on iPhone Photos to add two white rectangles on each side of my mirror in the picture to hide the mess behind me...makes for a cleaner looking picture. LOLOLzz P.S. Thanks for the nice words, but you are making my head swell to epic proportions...I'm already unbearable as it is.
  19. Today, Mon, Nov. 18 Maintenance : 5'2" / 1yr PO Sleeve / 114.5 lbs ...found my super-filler-food: JERK PORK. Holy cow, it took me over an hour to finish just 3.5 oz of it alone, and at the time of this writing it has been over 3.5 hours since I ate it and I am still pretty filled. I am DONE eating for today..I can tell if I eat anything else I'm going to hurl. I'm ending today with waaaaay too few cals though. There are still lots of jerk pork leftovers in the fridge, I'm probably going to have to stick to eating 1 oz portions at time. 10:30am - earl grey tea w/ stevia + coffee w/ stevia 1:30pm - salad greens w/ vinaigrette + 1.5 oz apple + 1/2 an avocado + 1 cherry tomato + 1/2 tbsp bacon crumble + 4 oz grilled chicken + 1 tsp crunchy chili oil 4:00pm - 3.5 oz jerk pork Totals: 581 cals - 52g Protein - 23g NET carbs - 29g fat
  20. No, this was never an issue for me (luckily). Going out/parties/get-togethers/holidays and all the food associated with it didn't affect me thank goodness. In the beginning, I was just glad to be around friends and family with my water bottle and packed food, thank goodness...I would have hated staying home just to avoid food-related events (read: everything).
  21. That looks like it came from a restaurant kitchen! #yum
  22. I'm sorry this stung. I recently showed a side-by-side "Before & After" picture of myself to a good friend of mine. We were both the fat ones in our circle of friends up until I got my surgery and lost the weight. I know she is happy for me for my weight loss, but I also know that seeing me makes her feel bad for being left behind, of sorts. So when I proudly showed my B&A pic to our group of friends over dinner one night, she started to cry. I felt horrible. Our never-fat friends very low-key chastised her in a joking way for making my story about her and taking away from my "moment". A couple of them told me later (separately) that my friend shouldn't have done that and that I should not feel bad about or feel the need to hide my successes. But I get it (a little too late, but at least it was got eventually). Seeing that picture was a reminder that she is the "Before" picture, something that we strive to NOT be. That must of made her feel pretty sh*tty. Now, I won't minimize myself to make others feel better, but going forward, I hope to be more mindful and speak/behave with a little more sensitivity. She is still my pal after all. ❤️
  23. Day 18: What trait do you have that you are most grateful for? My one-track mindedness (although this could also be my downfall). I know that once I decide on a course of action, I have the ability to get in the zone and tunnel-vision my way through. ...now if only I could gain the trait to make definitive decisions on demand...

...probably because there are more and more obese people to buy
