Daily Menus for Maintenance
Actually, I quit waaaaaay back in 2010 (I was an almost a pack a day smoker for about 13-14 years at that point). I hadn't smoked a single cigarette since then until last month, when I accepted a cigarette for no other reason than thinking "Why Not?". Big Mistake. I was back to smoking a pack a day until 6 days ago when I made the decision to quit again (to be honest, I was also smoke-shamed by my daughter, which was a very effective motivator for me). Though I find I am having internal arguments with myself about what harm there in just having one, so I'm thinking I'm not in the clear yet. Besides, I don't think I'd EVER be able to just have one!

? Nov 2019 Challenge?
Ok, so I failed to recognize that this month's challenge has a banned food list component to it! I totally had 7 of the the 10 items on that list yesterday. Ooopsies. I'm going to have to pass on that part of the challenge, i think! Day 6: What in nature are you most grateful for? OCEANS, and everything in it, and surrounding it ❤️

OOTD
OOTD: Before and after pics from the gym today (I really just wanted to take a pic in my new fave jean jacket, hence the after pic, LOL). Note to self: when feeling less than stellar, put on something tight to remind you where you are, and something big to remind you how far you've come. I bought these rain boots 7 years ago when I was way bigger. My skinny gal pals had these boots and I soooo wanted a pair but I couldn't fit my ginormous calves into them. So when I found out they came in extra-wide calf, I was all over it. But my calf still wouldn't fit into the extra-wide calf size 7 boot. So I got a size 8.5. I gained more weight after and they ended up in the basement. Fast forward to today, and I'm back in 'em. My foot has also since shrunk to a size 6 so I'm swimming in these babies now. BFF said I should just go get a regular pair that fit me, but I have a strange attachment to them, regardless of how ridiculously clown-looking they look on my feet. Go Figure. Here's a close up of how much room I've got in there now. This is what happens when you lose 7.5 inches in circumference there. Ca-Ray-Zee.

The Maintenance Thread
Correct me if I'm wrong: doesn't DEXA mesaure body composition only and therefore would only provide BMR, as in how many calories you need to maintain your weight if just sat on a couch all day and merely breathed? It doesn't take into account your activity levels, your heart rates at different levels of activity, how your body handles lactate production, etc... You could probably just lay down and be fed 1200 cals intravenously (you couldn't feed yourself, cuz that would expend energy, lol) and you wouldn't lose nor gain a single ounce. BUT, you do move, and your body seems to be burning fuel at a very high level since you can maintain at 2000 cals in reality. You one of the fortunate ones, lady

Hmmmm...I think any body composition calculator found online would be inherently inaccurate (for anybody). Anything that gives you results on something sight unseen is something that should be made wary of.

Here's mine using the same calculator as GreenTealael. Numbers seem about right based on my own weight and intake records....

? Nov 2019 Challenge?
Lately? Almost EVERYTHING. Normally? Open cupboard doors, and those who leave them that way. I mean, REALLY. It takes all of a micro-second to close it.

My Mr. is also an avid rider. He's told me before that he can lose up to 8lbs during a single ride (mind you he rides stupidly long distances at stupidly high speeds). I see him packing his tool kit with these before every ride. I've never tasted them, but he seems to like them, and so does the Kid who packs a couple in her swim bag for meets. 368 cals per serving total with less than 1g of sugar. I know you aren't a vegan, but it says "Suitable for Vegans", LOL. He orders them from Amazon

? Nov 2019 Challenge?
OK, First, sorry for joining late. I haven't participated in one of these in while, but I am in a funk and need a daily pick me up/commitment/whatevs...and these @GreenTealael challenges always seem to do the trick. (Thanks @GreenTealael ❤️) 1. Personal goal(s) for the month Stay smoke free. Be mindful about being irritable to Mr & the Kid. Run. EVERY. DAY. 2. Surgery Deets: 1 year Post-op SLEEVE, currently in Maintenance 3. Weight and BMI: 114.4 lbs (BMI 20.9) 4. Day #5: What item in your home are you most grateful for? The heating pad Mr. bought me a couple weeks ago. I put it under the fitted sheet on my side of the bed and it's HEAVEN.

Daily Menus for Maintenance
Yesterday, Mon, Nov. 4 Maintenance : 5'2" / 1yr PO Sleeve / 114.4 lbs ...am such a rebel. I put my vinaigrette back on my salads out of cranky defiance of all things that suck. Day 5 smoke-free and counting...and I KNOW that it is not related at all, AND that there are a gazillion reasons for this, BUT my inner crank is annoyingly pointing out that since I quit smoking again, my weight has steadily increased by fractions of lbs daily (a whole 1.5 lbs since, the HORROR). So its all like "See?!?!?! you need to go buy a pack and stop this explosive weight gain ASAP!!". Shut the eFF up, Crank. 10:30am - coffee with Stevia 12:00pm - salad greens + vinaigrette (❤️) + carrots + 1/2 avocado + 1oz salted Herring 4:00pm - salad greens + vinaigrette (❤️) + cucumber + 1oz salted Herring + 1.5 oz turkey jerky + 1 fl oz pumpkin seeds 6:00pm - 2 tbsp crunchy almond butter 7:00pm - salad greens + vinaigrette (❤️) + 1 tbsp corn kernels + 2 tbsp green peas + 1oz Parmesan cheese + 1/2 avocado + 1/2 slice bacon + 1 can smoked oysters w/ seafood sauce + 1 oz grilled octopus 9:00pm - 1 fl oz almonds + 2 squares dark chocolate + 1/4 cup blueberries Totals: 1480 cals - 86g Protein - 58g NET carbs - 95g fat

You are right, it does seem like alot doesn't it? Especially if you are used to eating 700-800 cals for the past several months. I packed in almost 3000 cals just yesterday, half of which came from snacking out of a mixed nuts canister all day, hahahaha. They were candied nuts, so probably not the best choice, but I probably still could have reached the same caloric intake if I ate the same weight in plain macadamia nuts. I would never have thought i would be able to do this 5 months ago (I've long since realized, it's really quite easy to do, intentional or not, LOL) IF you want to up your cals, you totally can (again, only if you reeeeeaaaaaallly want to) and are willing to put in the effort to tweak your diet. Though it sounds like you are quite ok going at your own pace you've set for now, and accept any collateral weight loss over immediate diet changes. And that's totally OK. Actually, its awesome because you understand the choices and their consequences and you made one. And that is waaaay better than wringing one's hands in despair, and made impotent of making decisions, right? You know yourself best, and what you are willing to do. You are doing great!

For instance, this is what I wear to bed every night these days. I'm frickin' cold and refuse to take all this off and freeze my ass off for cardio! So just the bare minimum comes off, and sometimes only just pushed aside a little... LOLOLOLzzzz

I think you look great. You looked great 11lbs ago too. , you will likely still look great 5-7 lbs from now. The real question is do YOU think you will look too skinny. And yeah, its totally feasible to lose 100% of excess fat. Remember excess fat is based on an arbitrary goal weight set prior to weight loss. Some make that goal weight relatively high, others make it relatively low. Whatever the case, congrats on your all your success! You look fab

Well, on the bright side, at least you know why you continue to lose weight (which already puts you ahead of most). Its up to you if you want to put in a concentrated effort to stop it or not ❤️. Good Luck! P.S. And I'm excited for you for your upcoming plastics!

At a client site all this week. So I get to play dressup for a few days! I have to admit though that my current run-in with bloat are making these pants feel a liiiiiiittle too tight. I have a pair of leggings in my purse just in case today's lunch busts me out of them...

Over Night Stay
Oh! just remembered: Bring a pillow or some other soft-ish thing to hug on the ride home. It helps to hold over your stomach and squeeze when going over bumps on the road or when you cough. Or god forbid sneeze.
