Food Before and After Photos
Drove out of the city for some patio time by a lake yesterday. First pic, 1/2 dozen oysters w/ mignonette sauce (ate em all along with 2 glasses of wine, not shown): 244 calories Second pic, are what I am now going to refer to as DEATH TARTS (Portugese custard tarts w/ scoop of vanilla gelato). I ate one tart and all the gelato: 329 calories. Eating the tart is the likely culprit to my evening of nausea, cold sweats, & lethargy. I spent pretty much the remainder of the day on the couch oscillating between feeling death-y and sleeping. Lesson learned? Probably not. ? It was crazy hot out yesterday and anything frozen was half melted by the time it got to our table..!

Remembering foods you can’t eat now
Sometimes I miss sushi and maki rolls. But I just eat a ton more of sashimi instead, so it’s all good.

Need help deciding - Too soon or too late
Maybe its not so much bypassers vs. sleevers who have “dietary restrictions”, but dumpers vs. non-dumpers (across ALL surgery types). I am sleeved and I dump. I know there are other sleevers on here who dump also. It’s just luck of the draw I guess. With that said, I do on occasion have a dessert anyway (but Im 20+ months out and been in maintenance for over a year). Sometimes I won’t dump, but most times I do. I do find the effects worse when I eat said dessert too fast, or if my stomach is empty when I have it.

As are the folks here on BP ????... If i were 25 years younger....(and not afraid of heights) I’d jump out of an airplane with you....? P.S. @JakeH sorry if this makes you feel objectified, harassed, or demeaned in any way. You know we all love ya, lol

I’m so dang salty right now!
Me too! Along with the salt, pepper, garlic, I also add cayenne and smoked paprika. ON. EVERYTHING. Lol My doc actually told me to eat more salt in the early days/months post op, as my blood pressure was pretty low and i was having semi-blackout episodes. I rarely feel woozy anymore but my salt intake is still pretty high, I think. P.S. My BP these days hovers near the low end of normal though.

Arm Lift Experiences?
I may be in the minority but i prefer my scars over my flappy skin. ...and my scars are pretty significant (I normally scar pretty badly, so it was expected) Cant see them when I have my arms down, but yeah, when i lift my arms, they are pretty noticeable. And i tend to raise my arms alot...I admit, I’m a Woo-girl, lol. Based on past experience i know they should fade for ME in a year or two. But you will likely fare MUCH better cuz u heal beautifully! You’ve probably seen this before, but I’ll just include it for reference anyway:

I. DID. NOT. KNOW. THIS. ?

Intermittent fasting
I inadvertently started doing it around 3-4 months post op as I hated eating in the morning (i was never a breakfast eater, even pre-op). Around this time I was able to eat more at a sitting, so i didn’t need all day to get my food in anymore. I implemented a no eating after 7pm also, so ended up with a 6-7 hr-ish eating window. I still eat this way today most days.

Do you see yourself as thin yet?
Even if you were, there ain’t nothing wrong with being vain...after how many years of hiding one’s body away, its about time to feel fab. Show ‘em what u got!! Congrats!

Wasn’t sure if I should post this on the PS thread or on here, but decided on here in the end. I particularly like my work out outfit today cuz it makes me look curvier than I really am, lol (colour-blocking is your friend!) Also wanted to show off the bicep muscles that I have been working to get back since getting a little “loose” due to laziness. They aren’t as fabulous as they used to be a couple months ago, but am working in it....(also i just finished a work out, so they are a little more pumped than usual, lol) P.S. Btw, I find it highly irritating that muscles disappear so quickly during periods of inactivity. Le Sigh. P.P.S. That is scar tape under my arm...yeah its pretty nasty...im overdue for a tape change...

Obsessing about Plastic Surgery!!
Arg, I hear you on the incision healing. I had a rough go at it...though the longer than expected healing process was mostly self-imposed. Sigh. You are probably already doing this, but try to rest as much as possible and don’t do too much too soon (I was eager to get back to running and screwed myself. TWICE.). Keep the incisions clean and dry as much as possible. At one point I was cleaning (and drying) my worst incisions twice a day. I *think* it helped. Good luck with your appt, despite them being (fill-in-blank-here). ❤️
