@BayougirlMrsS : the green dress is super flattering on you. Your. Boobs. @sarahSingh91 : pretty lady, looking FIT. @JAKE H : mighty fine, J. Your muscle definition is now showing through your shirts. LOL. @Sophie7713 : congrats on the WIN!. The place turned out great! I particularly like the tile you chose for the tub/shower walls. I can't zoom in close enough, but is the kitchen backsplash tile textured/raised? Or is that just an optical illusion? I'm looking to change the backsplash tile in our kitchen...when I first chose it, I thought it was clear/white...but when it was put up its giving off a blue hue. Drives me nuts. Also, love the airplane seat shot...if I ever stop being lazy, I should start an thread about that, LOL. Here's mine. It was taken last summer (haven't been on a plane for like FOREVER. Sigh. Eff you Covid.). Prior to weight loss, my thighs would be digging into the arm rests, and my upper arm would spill over to my neighbours "air space" if I wasn't mindful.

Food Before and After Photos
Was 22 degrees this afternoon...in NOVEMBER! Patio lunch: Teriyaki salmon on a bed of broccoli and romaine salad. According to the menu, is 580 calories for the whole thing. I ate 1/2 the greens and almost 1/4 of the fillet...leftovers put in the fridge and was eaten by someone in the house...lol (also had a vodka caesar beforehand (not shown), approx 150 calories)

Keeping food warm/cold
Honestly, it used to take me soooooo long to eat a meal that I eventually just got used to eating lukewarm/cold food. I'm two years out, and even now I'll just eat leftovers straight from the fridge. But if this not for you, there are mini crock pots you could use (or the aforementioned mug warmer). Also, you could try to eat out of insulated bowls?

Yet another bowl of random stuff from the fridge: Butter sautéed cremini mushrooms seasoned with garlic salt/pepper/smoked paprika, with diced tomatoes, topped with 1 slice of bacon bits, shaved Parmesan and fresh cilantro (preceded with a coffee martini, not shown): 268 calories. This concoction turned out to be like my favourite thing i’ve eaten in a couple weeks! Sooooo yum...ate it all.

Telling the Kids
My Kid was 13 when I had the sleeve done. I told her that I was having surgery to help me lose some weight. She literally replied “Oh, ok” and that was pretty much it. I was prepared with a bunch of answers for the questions I anticipated from her, but didn’t even need them *shrugs*. Your kids may or may not react the same way, but i would *think* that if you are prepared to answer/address their questions or concerns honestly and confidently they would trust that you know what you are doing? On the other hand (though I personally wouldn’t recommend it, as keeping WLS a secret from people u live with could be challenging), is NOT telling them an option for you?

Personal question for the ladies only!
Mons flab yes, but if you are talking lower down, like labia, then no (at least I didn't, some may have a different experience). But yeah, a tummy tuck or mons lift (if that is your plan) will address that nicely. Though plastic surgery or not, the weight loss/loss of bulk makes the usage of the area MUCH better, lol.

Scarring
Im a bad scar-er too. Always have been. My scars stay red/raised for a long time, but eventually flatten and turn *almost* back to skin colour...but this takes YEARS. I am two years post op, and my WLS scars are still brown, and one is still raised (don't even talk to me about my plastic surgery scars that are only 10 months old!) Unfortunately aside of proper wound care (keep it clean, keep it moisturized, keep it out of the sun) not much you can really do to influence the way your scars form the way they do. However, you CAN do some "scar maintenance" after the fact (i.e., steroid shots.., surgically excising them in hopes that it will heal nicer...but there are no guarantees to this). The WLS scars are very small though, so unless you suffer from serious keloid formations, they aren't so very stand-out-ish. Edited to add: just remembered something you else can do to aid in better healing: DON'T SMOKE! (at least that is what both my wls and plastic surgeon said...)

Single mom with a toddler... advice for post op please.
The lifting may be an issue. From what i’ve read and been told, they do not recommend lifting anything heavier that 10lbs for the first 4 weeks (at least)... Not sure about abdominal binder either...i didn’t wear one, but maybe others who have can weigh in...

Was such an unexpectedly beautiful day yesterday (23 degrees, probably the last nice day until 2021), that I got Mr. to drive us around to nowhere so I could turn up the music and wind the windows and sunroof down. Wore stuff from my new pile of hand me downs. The Kid calls this top her old “frolicking” top. Said it made her want to skip around. I totally get what she means. P.S. Im cheating by tippy toeing in this pic cuz i was too lazy to go get my shoes downstairs and bring then up again for this pic. Just pretend im wearing 2.5 inch wedges!

New Tastebuds
My preferences for things remain the same pretty much. Though i do find that i have a lower tolerance for spicy foods. Also, my pre-op level of sweetness acceptability has reduced. I'm 2 years post op.

Hand-me-down SCOoooooooooooRE! The Kid cleaned out her closet (again) and filled a garbage bag with clothes that she doesn't wear anymore. Naturally, I went through it and put a few pieces in my closet cuz these clothes are still good, man. And bonus points that they fit me, lol. Here's a pic of 3 pairs of jeans that I poached. For funsies, I got my biggest pair of pants currently in my closet for comparison. Now these PJ pants aren't even as big as my biggest pants (I recently cleaned out my own closet and donated all my big clothes so no pic for comparison)...these leopard print pj pants were actually part of my previous horde of "skinny clothes"! At my biggest, they were too small to go over my hips/stomach. Craziness.
