Has anyone had their gallbladder removed at the same time their surgery?
My surgeon told me that he'd only remove mine if it looks diseased when he gets in there. And they have to be sent out for pathology to determine what's wrong with it (stones, infection etc)

Technically they aren't allowed to remove the gallbladder unless it's diseased(stones, infection etc.). Insurance won't pay for the procedure if it's not necessary even though it'll mean another surgery in the future.

June 2019 Surgery Siblings!
Just remember that there's no use in stressing out over something you can't change. The additional stress is probably making your body drama even worse. I know it's easier said than done, but try your best to stay calm and just roll with whatever happens

Struggling with support system at home.
I've been very fortunate to have very supportive family/friends/coworkers. However I do feel that if there are people in your life that are trying to sabotage you even after you've told them to knock it off...maybe you need to take a break from them until after your surgery. This process is hard enough without having to deal with such negativity. Just politely tell them that you've done your research and that you feel that this is the best thing for you and if they can't support you through the process then you'll have to stay away from them for a while. As for the psych eval and surgeon...they definitely want to know that you have a support system. Either avoid talking about the negative influences or tell them the truth and also tell them that you you have others that support you and that you're distancing yourself from any negative influences.
