  2. Oh wow, That's exactly what I need coz I am way too lazy to figure it all out!!
  3. Hah! Very good. But, doesn't that all get automagically done now by software?
  4. Hi Neri, I'm curious, what does a paginator do?
  5. Aussie in Ireland coz I married an Irishman twenty years ago. Have a 14yr old who is better than me in every way. I'm a 45 Yr old (zomg), academic researching/teaching abt Islam & Muslims (coz I am one). Have a geriatric cat too.
  6. Doing the happy dance every time I think about it.
  7. Woah what a great site!! Thx.
  8. I'm having to relearn about portions and satiety because my bypass is WAY different to my old lapband. With the former, if it was too loose I could and craved eating normal and bigger sized portions, steak etc. But too tight and I could only eat slider food and was throwing up all the time. Now with my bypass pouch I don't have the lapband "hard stop" and I feel like I could eat more, BUT if I make myself eat much slower and make sure I eat good quality protein, I get satiety in about twenty to thirty minutes. Its not fullness eg oh my gosh I'm stuffed, it's more just a pleasant sense of having eaten to general satisfaction and I don't have to eat now for a while. It's a much quieter voice so I have to actively listen for it, but it's so much better. So I measure my food and I have about 5-6 oz of squishier protein/meal eg Shelley's Ricotta Bake with a bit of chicken added in (now I can) and take it REAL slow. If I'm still looking for something after that I have about 15g nuts b/c I know that will give me satiety.
  9. Yes! I was scared of fiddling around with my anatomy as well. But nothing is as scary as facing morbid obesity in old age [emoji33]
  10. I can't figure out the American measurements but I had a checkup with full bloods three wks after my surgery and I had a perfectly normal workup. I'm averaging 5.2 for my Hb1ac which is a normal person's and my morning blood sugars are anywhere between 4.3 and 5.5 which is fantabulous. I'm off all diabetes meds now and my endo is planning to discharge me back to my GP it's so good.
  11. You can do it mate. Just tell peeps you've developed an allergy to alcohol if that helps!
  12. Yep, band to mini-gastric bypass here. My band sprung a leak after the first fill and sadly never worked for me. Wish I'd revised years ago. Mind you it worked brilliantly for Bandedwendy on Youtube.
  13. Oh I'm sorry to hear that! Be gentle on yourself, fur babies are members of the family! It takes time!
  14. Looking back I had a bit of a freak out before my bypass, even though I've already been down the bariatric surgery route before (with a lapband in 2009). Now, a month later things are so much better and I really do wish I'd done this years ago. But, the Irish have a saying: "what's for you, won't pass you by". If now is the right time, you will get through this difficult stage, but if you're just not ready, then take a breather and reassess why you want /need the surgery, and if you're ready to change your relationship with food and with your body.
  15. Welcome [emoji106][emoji106] there's heaps of tips and recipes and "what to expect" posts and it's a great place to hang out and get inspiration, coz you name it someone has had it or done it before! Hehe
  16. Don't laugh but can you take NSAIDs as a suppository? When I had kidney stones they gave me Difene as a suppository and it was a bloomin' miracle. I know you can get paracetamol as a suppository so maybe ibuprofen etc. too??
  17. Happy Birthday, mate. What an achievement to come this far! That's under 95 kilos which sounds even better! [emoji108]
  18. * Renew my scuba license and go diving again * Ride a horse again (I live in the horsey capital of Ireland guddamit) * walk into a regular clothing boutique and not be ignored * get back into aerobics (is it still a thing? Last time I did it, it was the '90s)
  19. Oh bless! It's so lovely he sees you that way!!
  20. Aside from being well impressed! I had to giggle at "I'm still all boob". Hehe.
  21. My surgeon told me to wait two weeks before taking Vitamins. Although I have the bypass not the sleeve.
  22. Well you might be OK with cheese and yoghurt. I only have lactose issues with milk (and when I used to have it, cream).
  23. Hah exactly! No shame more like it, giving me jip like that in public! What are we to do with our wonky bodies, hey!
  24. Just seems to go straight through me and I'm a month out after revision to mini gastric bypass. I suspect my hole between my stoma and my intestine is large because I don't have any problems drinking just like I used to.
