❤ JANUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤
Recipe: gosh, this is tricky, mostly coz all my good ideas are from others here on BP. My favourite breakfast is: 100 gm nonfat Greek yoghurt 8 red grapes 8 blueberries 10 gm granola 1 cap of sugar free syrup All mixed together My goto easy lunch or dinner: In a pan with 1 tsp oil, stir fry: - Cabbage sliced up into thin strips - A couple garlic cloves crushed or chopped finely - some mange tout or green onion or zucchini sliced up Cook until soft, then remove from pan with slotted spoon. Then in same pan, stir fry some prawns or scallops for a few minutes with a shake of garlic powder, a shake of onion powder and some salt and pepper. Add the cabbage back in, toss, then serve and eat!

Atlantic article
I'd like my broken leg to heal, but putting on a plaster-cast feels like giving it up, taking the easy way out. No, I'll wrap it in bandages, and try not to walk on it as hard as I can.

Advise on supplement routine
Sorry, my bad, 90 quid for a six month supply but that's just for the multivitamin. I buy iron separately from the chemist.

Advise on supplement routine
I'm in Ireland and I use https://www.fitforme.co.uk vitamins. It's about 90 quid for a three month supply.

❤ JANUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤
How I'm keeping on plan: - like lots of peeps I log everything that goes into my mouth, even the naughty teaspoon of Lidl 'proteinella' (SF Nutella alternative) I had whilst cooking tea. - go on BP and another FB support group to get inspiration - tell my hubs my weight (mostly coz it's exciting to announce I've lost another half a kilo etc) - trying to make healthy options available if I crave something, like these really nice sweet peppers I found and Babybel cheeses for when I just need something in my mouth - using skim milk instead of regular milk. This one's hard because I truly miss full-fat milk.

I wish we knew each other in real life, I reckon we'd get along like a house on fire. Thank u so much for running this challenge. It's really making BP fun and it's the thread I look for first everytime I open the app!

1 week to go and feeling slightly lost
Sounds pretty good - I'd go completely keto (no sugar, carbs) a couple of days before the surgery because depleting the liver of sugar stores is what makes it flexible and easier for the surgeon. But other than that sounds good. Good luck hon!!

Surgery in 2 1/2 hours and I am a nervous wreck ?
Yes!!! I have had lots of surgeries/general anaesthetic procedures (so many I have lost count) and I still felt nervous going under this last time for my bypass. You will get through this!! It's hard but totally doable. Just keep reminding yourself why you are doing this, and that the docs wouldn't do it if they didn't think it was in your best health interest!!

Soft meats?
A lot of people have trouble with chicken. If I eat roast chicken it's too fatty and I get the squits. Maybe just stick to ground chicken mince for a while.

❤ JANUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤
Fitness plan / activity: just last night I said to hubs I want to start walking so we got up off our behinds and went for a brisk walk in the chilly (but lovely) evening. We're going to do it again tonight God willing. So my aim is to do half an hour brisk walk every day.

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
Definitely! Probably a lot of health wisdom there that we ate only just waking up to.

Fat Shaming
Dude, if you look for persecution everywhere, you'll find it everywhere. If you don't like BariatricPal, don't use it!

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
At the moment yes (gotta love winter in the northern hemisphere) but I'd already drunk water past dawn so it wouldn't count. I think doing me ramadan catchups has accidentally put my body into natural IF mode even when I'm not purposely doing it. Which is way cool!

Rant about a friend
Wow. Sounds like you've made a healthy choice. Her sniping sounds like it was just shots in the dark to try and hurt you, so don't give them share of mind. This surgery is anything but frivolous!

Food Before and After Photos
My din dins tonight. Parsnip chips made in the airfryer (seasoned with a couple of sprays of rapeseed, salt, garlic and onion powder). The sauce is SF sweet chilli. The bowl has chicken breast with Brussels sprouts, carrots, broccoli and mushroom, marinated in a bit of Nando's sauce. I baked them all together in the oven for half an hour.

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
Congratulations!! I did, accidently. Didn't eat until about 4.30pm coz I was so busy. It gave me lots of lovely calories to play with for dinner but I kept it light. It meant I had to purposely eat some cheese to just up my protein this evening (a first for me).

LapBand being Removed, Deciding Sleeve or Bypass
I went from lapband with reflux to mini gastric bypass with no reflux (hallelujah). I have dumped a couple of times (due to stupid, stupid choices - repeat after me, a large regular Mocha and Pringles is not a good idea) but in the big scheme that's nothing in comparison to how miserable the reflux was making me. If I don't eat sugar, I don't dump - yay! Explosive diarrhea has happened to me a few times when I've eaten more fat than I should have (chicken wings and skin are from the devil) but again, if I don't eat fatty foods I'm fine. Overall I feel really good and love, love, love my bypass when I'm following the Rules: protein first, no sugar, no starchy or beige carbs, low-fat, few liquid calories. That's been my experience

Does it taste good? Or is it like hemp powder which is horribly vile but good for you?

❤ JANUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤
Day 7 motivation / inspiration : I love catching glimpses of my reflection in shop windows and mirrors. When I'm not expecting it, I see a totally new profile of my body and it blows my mind. So that's my Jan motivation. Overall, I want to be a normal sized person. I've never really been one except for a few years in my teens when I did Weight Watchers and was a gym junkie. They even approached me to feature as a WW slimmer for their magazine but my body dysmorphia was so whack I couldn't accept I was not horribly obese. So I want to be normal and feel normal. (I know normal is one of those words, but I know what I mean in my head anyhow).
