HI, I AM 2WKS POST OP AND HAVE LUMP IN PORT AREA. STILL VERY TENDER TO THE TOUCH. CAN'T BEND ALL THE WAY DOWN OR RIDE STATIONARY BIKE DUE TO PAIN. IS THE PLUM SIZED KNOT THE PORT OR SOMETHING I SHOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT? NO REDNESS ,NOT WARM TO THE TOUCH. LOOKS LIKE ITS HEALING FAIRLY WELL.:embaressed_smile:

Hi murphmann, good luck tomorrow. I am 12 days post op and i must say other than the gas pains in my back it was'nt to bad. I will definitely say a prayer for you. Let us know how you're doing .

I WAS BANDED 6 DAYS AGO AND EVER SINCE HAVE HAD PAIN IN BACK AND CHEST. FEELS LIKE ESOPHAGEAL SPASMS AND SOMETHING IS STUCK IN MY CHEST. ANY SUGGESTIONS??????:biggrin:

I WAS BANDED 6 DAYS AGO. THE UGI DONE THE NEXT MORNING SHOWED EVERYTHING LOOKED GOOD. HAD SUCH BAD GAS PAINS IN BACK AND CHEST. ALSO, FEELS LIKE SPASMS IN MID TO UPPER CHEST ON AND OFF SINCE SURGERY. DOES'NT MATTER WHAT TIME OF DAY, OR IF I AM EATING, DRINKING OR SITTING AROUND DOING NOTHING. I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO BURP SINCE SURGERY AND REALLY FEEL I NEED TO WHEN I AM HAVING THESE SPASMS/PAINS. I'VE TRIED GAS X, MYLANTA,AND MAALOX. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:biggrin:

Hi hart's mommy, i am getting banded on sept 4. I can't believe i actually have a date. Whoohooo!!!!!!! Started my liquid diet today. Wasnt hard until an hour ago. Have a headache and very hungry but i'm going to stick to it. I know tomorrow will be better. In fact all of my tomorrows will be better. Good luck to all pre bandsters and how about we say a prayer for us all?

Hi tenn, mine was just the oppposite. I met with my pcp first,then the surgeon did all the test and finally got insurance approval. This whole prsocess has taken a little over 12 wks. But it has been well worth it. My surgery date is sept 4. Yah!!!!!!!! Good luck

I have bc/bs of il hmo and it was submitted on monday and i got a call today(3 days later) saying i have been approved. My surgery is sept 4. Im so excited. Good luck

Hope to be there also. Just found out i almost didnt pass psych eval because of depression. Heck yeah i'm depressed. I am in constant pain from 2 failed ankle surgeries. Arthritis has taken over my body (feet,hips,knees and now hands). I am only 48 yrs old on saturday but fill 88. Help!!!!!!! I know with all my heart the pain will ease up if i can lose about 80lbs. Sooooo heck yeah i'm depressed. Can you blame me?

HI TAWNA, MY NAME IS DEE. I TOO RESEARCHED THE LAPBAND AND HAVE DECIDED TO GO FOR IT. I AM SO EXCITED BECAUSE I HONESTLY FEEL IT WILL BE LIKE STARTING MY LIFE OVER. I MET MY SURGEON ON JUNE 17, 08. I HAVE HAD LAB WORK ,CHEST XRAY,UGI,PULMONARY FUNCTION TEST,STRESS TEST,SLEEP STUDY,PSYCH EVAL AND CONSULTATIONS WITH CARDIOLOGIST AND PULMONOLOGIST. SO FAR EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD AND I AM JUST WAITING FOR MY DOCTOR TO SUBMIT ALL RESULTS TO INS COMPANY. ITS A LOT TO DO BUT I DO BELIEVE WELL WORTH IT. GOOD LUCK TO YOU. I saw my pcp the middle of may. Couldnt get in to see surgeon until june 17. Scheduled lab,cxr,ekg,sleep study,pft,stress test,consultation with pulmonologist and cardiologist and as of fri,july 25, i am waiting for everything to be submitted to insurance. I did talk to a young lady in ins. Dept that submits it to the medical group and she said bc/bs of il hmo usually takes just a couple of days for them to make a decision. Soooooo.........

Im glad to hear things are finally looking up for you. What a blessing this doctor came when he did. Best of luck
