  1. You might want to talk to your Dr. about your smoking. A lot of Dr.s won't do the surgery unless you quit smoking. I haven't had a cig since september. I had to use chantrix. worked great. But check to make sure. good luck
  2. Hello Manatee...I have seen your picks..youre a Hunk! You look great! But yes what Elise said about womens conversations always turning to weight is true. So if you are around women all the time grin and bare it. If it is men just turn the conversation around to something else. By the way are you from Huntsville, Al? In one of your pics I thought I reconised something. Take care and congrats on your loss.
  3. Sorry to hear about your problem..Try prunes/prunejuice. Also try apple juice. Hope this helps
  4. By FDA weight chart I should weigh app.95 lbs. I am 4'10. But my goal weight is 135. You have the band for help. It is a tool. Some people never learn how to use the tool the correct way. Some are unwilling to really change. There are a lot of different things that factor into that % of weight loss. I personally look at all the good things about the band...I am loosing weight..I am getting healthier...I am learning a new life style..I am growing with my shrinking...I am a better person for my choise.(sp)...If I loose 50 or 150 I am happy, I have lost. Good luck with your journey.
  5. WOW good luck! That is an awsome undertaking.
  6. Hey sweetie, there is a special thread just for teens. Just go down the left side of the main page until you find age groups and it will be in there under teens. Good luck on your journey.. I am sorry I can't help with the insurance thing. I was self pay. Hope you can get some answers soon.
  7. Congrats on your surgury date. I know the feeling. I felt the same way. But I did look like a barn!
  8. here is mine.... www.myspace.com/ymelord77 just make sure you mention you are a bandster or I will deleate you!
  9. Welcome Mygirl, Flowers and Shellbell. We look foward to seeing you here a lot thoughout your journey. Congrats on the surgury dates. This is a wonderful sight. It will answer most if not all of your questions. It will support you and give advise. Most of all you will make new freinds here. Good luck
  10. Starrie, Hello... 15lbs since May is awsome!! Most dr.s recomend that you loose 1-3 lbs a week . You still might be to tight if you are still having trouble eating. Good luck to you.
  11. Congrats on your surgery! Make sure you are drinking Water also..Be careful so you don't get dehydrated. It is normal to be somewhat un-thirsty. But if this goes on to much longer contact your dr. It took me about 1 1/2 weeks of forcing myself to drink some to start to drink somewhat close to the amount I was supposed to be drinking. Also hot tea is also good to help you along. Good luck on your journey. Keep us posted o.k.
  12. go out to the home page scroll about 1/2 way down to food and nutrition and cooking and baking for recipes. There are some really yummy ones in there. plus I look on line in different recipe sites.
  13. Congrats on your date! Keep us posted....Don't forget protien shakes.
  14. Way to go Lone! Congratulations on reaching Onderland........ That is awsome.
  15. Welcome Niecy. Congrats on your decision to get this done and youv'e quit smoking! Also congrats to your sister. This is a peice of cake compared to quit smoking. It's been 9 months since my last cig. We are full of info here. Full of support. Good luck on your insurance.
  16. Welcome...I suggest you use the Dr. you feel most comfortable with.. That helps a whole lot. If you can talk to him/her and get aswers without pulling teeth...I love my Dr. He had the LB done himself..so asking him anything he can aswer first hand. Good luck on your journey.
  17. O.K. so I got carried away with the smilys..they say a lot! But my first thing I want to do is my minigoal of being able to clip my own tonails again.. As it is I can clip 3 on 1 foot and 2 on the other..I hate asking my kids when they come over to clip my toenails. When I get to Onderland I am going to hunt me down a clawfoot tub and take a long hot bubble bath. I miss them.. But that is a long way off yet. When I reach goal weight I want to go to my school reunion and FLAUNT myself in front of all the people that made my life heck in school because of my weight. Then I will treat myself to a trip to somewhere with a beach and have:thumbup: myself some fun without people staring at me for the wrong reason. I want to try clothing on at a store istead of taking them home to try on because I might stink from sweating. There are a lot of things I want to do. Buying clothes that are fun instead of old lady clothes (sorry if I offend anyone) I have always been fat and hated wearing pantsuits growing up and strech pants eversince. O.K. I think I am done now!
  18. Hello Patricia, I will try to tell you the right way of doing the ticker tape. Someone walked me thru it...Go to... tickerfactory.com (open a 2nd window) register..look thru what they have and put it together...when you are done it will ask you if it goes to My Space or where...click on the weight loss one (I think) copy and go back to your profile on here and paste. I think that is correct. Sorry I am computer illiterate! lol. To update I go into my favorites and pull it up and go to my page there and adjust and copy. usually before I paste it it goes there already. Sorry if I confussed you.
  19. O.K. there are some talented people on here! I have trouble typing while at my desk. I can't even picture me trying to cycle and type at the same time!
  20. Sorry Kimmie about your insurance not covering you.. Ireally don't know what to tell you on that one.... Now for what you posted about...Ramping up your profile...I am a total idiot on the computer. I can do basics and that is it.. I have pictures but don't know how to download them from where their at to the site. I might be able to change the colors if I look at it. I barley was able to do the ticker, and that was with help! I might eventually be able to get my profile right and sassy, but I'm not holding my breath... :tt2::smile:
  21. Hello Timandi... I was banded on the 13th. I am doing great. I have lost 13lbs so far. How are you doing? Let us know alright/
  22. Hi Patricia. Glad you went to one of their seminars.. I really love Dr. Groves. I haven't really had any dealings with Dr. Britt. The only time I seen him was at a seminar. They are very down home and freindly. I am glad your doing your research. Make sure whomever you choose you are comfortable with. Keep us posted
  23. I love the thought! Lets see how much I have after I pay bills...mmmmmmm would 50 cents help?
  24. I am sorry to hear about your loss. As far as the eating goes it is normal to gain when your not filled...It will get better after you get filled...It will probablt take more than 1/2 fills to hit your sweet spot.. I would ask your dr. about having my band checked under fluro just to make sure there haven't been any slipage or anything. Good luck.
  25. I was glued. I liked it a lot better than stiches and staples I have had for other surguries. It is also more comfotable for me. Good luck on your journey.
