Finally found the jean jacket of my dreams without conventional pockets or a lot of bulk!!! It's been a staple all weekend long for our mild temperatures out and about.

Call your bariratric office. They are better qualified to answer your questions about metabolism Ask if they have an information seminar. It will help you decide on surgery.
All I can offer is my experience five years out from sleeve surgery. (maintaining my weight in the 130's)
Surgery is nothing like my other diet attempts. (I've done every diet and pill) I needed a long term solution. My weight loss/maintenance diet is very livable. I'm not deprived, My hunger is manageable.
It's normal for your surgery restriction to relax after a year. My stomach is NOT back to full size. I still eat within my calorie range,
Maintenance diet and calories are different for each of us. It depends on your surgeons/dietitians plan, activity level, metabolism, healthy issues, medications......The list goes on. I maintain my weight between 1200 and 1300. I do have days that are higher. I take vacations and indulge within reason. If I have a slight gain I eat weight loss calories (My weight loss calories are 1100)
Take your time and research all of this. Do whats best for you and your health.

I bought a pair of palazzo pants like this with more of a yoga type waist...I love them. Plus, I can wear some capri length Spanx to smooth everything out.

I have been putting Bulletproof collagen powder in my coffee every day for about 6 months. I was skeptical about it helping my dry, flaky. crepey old lady skin but it has really helped a great deal. I still use Cetaphil daily but I see a huge difference in the appearance and feel of my skin. Best price I have found is at Sams.

Good Morning to all you beautiful ladies and handsome gentlemen. November11 you are looking spectacular this morning.

Okay this is for ms.sss and silly kitty. I’ve never paired skinny jeans with a fitted top. I also added a pop of color to wardrobe. I’m feeling great this morning. I hope you all have a happy and blessed day.

    30 days post op
Now past the 4 week mark - I really notice a difference! Feeling mostly "back to normal" and will continue to wear the compression garments another 4 weeks to total 8. I am thrilled with the results! Assessed current wardrobe today and seem to be settling nicely into XS/S tops, size 8 dress and 6/8 slacks in petites. Most interim clothing will need to be donated. Other basics go back to seamstress. Appetite, bowels and Water intake have returned to normal. Do not wish to loose anymore weight. Looking forward to moving into spring as the new stabilized me after an intense 16 months of bariatric research, planning, scheduling, gastric sleeve, nutritional and lifestyle adjustments and lastly, plastics. It's all good. So very thankful for the opportunity to have halted the obesity cycle.

    Playing devil's advocate here.
You are under goal weight and according to your nut, have lost 100% of your excess weight.
Why are you depriving yourself of celebrating the holidays with friends? Isn't the goal of WLS is to be able to fully enjoy our lives? You have already established that you can go off plan, have some small gain, and then come back, knuckle down and lose again.
For me, this is exactly where I wanted to be in life. To just live and eat like a normal weight person. I just put guardrails up on a high weight and with logging. But otherwise I just want to enjoy my life, including dinner and drinks during the holidays with friends.
I think it's easy to get hyperfocused on losing weight, and we can lose sight of what the end game is, to be happy, healthy and relaxed in our own skin.

Pre and Post...I eat the same omelette just 1/2. Three eggs, two slices cooked uncured bacon, fresh organic spinach and baby bella mushrooms, a sprinkle of shredded cheese cooked in about 1 teaspoon butter.

My son was murdered this week, he died yesterday morning and took his last breath at 5: 46 AM. I'm devastated and trying to understand why this is happening to us, me. I will be taking a break from BP, postponing my surgery next week, because I have to prepare to lay my only child to rest. He was my biggest supporter of this surgery, so I'll be back because he was going to be there with me and believed in this.
My heart is hurting and forever broken.

On this past Tuesday, spent the day with my BFF and we went to lunch at Chuy"s (Mexican restaurant) and like the dedicated girl I am I drank Water and ordered chicken fajitas. I never eat tortillas since I have intolerance of gluten. Box up my leftovers and when our waitress brought the check she also delivered 2 very small pieces of tres leches cake which is THE BOMB if you have never had it.
We did not order it but she said "everyone gets free cake today because it is Elvis' birthday (Austin is weird like that...okay) So, I had a small bite and ate the strawberry on top and a bit more of the sauce. First cake I have eaten in over 8 months. She then came back and I channeled my inner @FluffyChix and asked her to take the rest away and pour dish soap on it so I would not be tempted to go in the kitchen and dig it out of the trash.🤪

I get one from dixiediner.com in Tomball that is great... made mostly from nuts and Fiber (1 net carb per serving) called Graham Cracker Style Pie Crust Mix. I make regular Cheesecake from my mom's recipe and just sub Splenda for the sugar. It has been my holiday/special occasion go to for a long time.

Official Christmas outfit for varies holiday events this past weekend and next... Thankfully, guests are from different groups or organizations - SO I won't be caught wearing the same dress twice. Haha. Today is my One Year surgery anniversary. What a difference a year makes. I am amazed to be wearing a size 8 dress here. It is totally mind boggling. AND, there is now space between my knees and I can see my shoes! Fun.

You can always try going on the bariatric diet but you need some big changes in what you are currently eating. You need lean Protein first, then non-starchy vegetables with some fruit and small amounts of whole grains and dairy. Aim for calories about 1000-1200 per day with daily exercise and a boatload of Water (at least 64 ounces but more is better) No sugar, soda, juice, processed carbs or snack foods. Give it a go.
Three and a half months ago I was in bad shape. Wheezing constantly despite 3 daily asthma/COPD medications, terrible lower back pain if I was standing for more than 5 minutes. Almost a prisoner in my home due to feeling so bad and defeated.
I am a nurse practitioner and hated the idea of surgery and anesthesia but I came to the conclusion that I could not fix my situation without medical assistance. So, I had the gastric sleeve. The first 3 days after the surgery were hard due to pain and general irritation about the whole thing. I got sick of drinking sips of water almost every waking minute and forcing Protein Shakes down a little at a time. At that point, things started getting better every day.
Tomorrow is 3 months since my sleeve and I can tell you honestly it is the best thing I could have done in my situation. I am off all of my asthma/COPD meds, absolutely no back pain, walking 1.75 miles daily and doing weight training and almost 50 pounds lighter. I do get hungry at mealtime but the amount of food it takes to fill me up simply amazes me.
You are not to blame for being obese any more than anyone else on here. It is a serious problem for many and bariatric surgery is just a tool to help us succeed in solving the problem. Spend time reading on here...there is a lot of great information and sometimes brutal honesty. Good luck to you!!

Well over 2 and 1/2 years post op and I'm doing things I never dreamed possible. I got back into mountain biking and never thought I would be doing a downhill bike park, bit here I am doing it!! I joined the bike patrol unit in work and ride 15 to 20 miles a day in work. I travel, I eat food, I drink alcohol, I'm really living my best life as cliche as it sounds.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone!

My LBL pain is lessening each day. But I’m still walking extremely hunched over. My breast pain is nearly nonexistent unless I’m putting all my weight on my arms trying to get in and out of bed etc. I know many people who have had BA’s and have more pain than I have. So I’m grateful for that

I took a shower today w the help of a nurse. It felt really nice to get clean, but was exhausting.

My mom got a good look at my naked body. She says it looks great. All smooth and taunt, even my inner thighs! 😃. My boobs do look really weird, as they are sitting high. I know about the drop and fluff process, but they still scare me a little 😟

I’m leaving the Care Center tomorrow. I stayed 2 extra night (1 is mandatory, I am staying 3). I’m glad I did, because I’m much more confident about getting around on my own this way. But I don’t go home until the 23rd (2 weeks post op). Even then I will stay w my mom through Xmas.

OK, serious NSV alert. I've never in my life owned a pair of full calf boots. Why? Cuz from age 6 when white boots became popular (thank you Partridge Family), they didn't have any that would fit over my big fat calves.
My sissy cleaned out her closet this weekend and gave me some stuff that's either too small for her or that she doesn't wear. Beautiful super high end stuff. The kind I couldn't afford. And her boots were in the batch! And they fit! They fit! Normal size calf boots zipped with room to spare!!! *swoon*
Here I am dressed for Tuesday date night (on account of mah new boots).
