The shakes three weeks post
Still a lot of " on job training" after these WL surgeries, we all learn what works and doesn't work for our individual nodies, what things are unacceptable and what out remodeled bodies will agree to. Me I'm either a shake Commodore or something close to it, been clear since last summer and they still are in my life. When will this liquid torture be over? Only God , my surgeons, and my redefined GI system truly know. Its rather a "need to know" basis, if YOU don't know now that you've been disinvited from the inner circle. Like the 60s song If you don't know now, you may never know! Always thought it had a pretty melody line!?, forget who recorded it.

Hair loss
At 7 months ( well it will be Friday) I have lost only a minimal amount. My beautician Sheliah said she could tell but doubted others would. Good thing because I am a Redhead (well actually Strawberry Blonde, but it's in that family) , well known redheads have the fewest hairs per square inch in the first place.. I was fearful I would be combing my hair with a damp washcloth! Maybe the 3 months of TPN helped out there, my fingernails must be trying, still,to,overcome the surgery. this week they are teally cracking and breaking. Started trying Hair, skin, nail capsules but they make me nauseated, do I really need that? Vomited, more with,my RnY recovery than ever I did with 3 babies. Back then it resolved itself quickly each time, not now, I'm like a large cat with hairballs, Belch, retch, puke, cry, repeat! Ms Pouch, the Precious thing she is rules with an Iron hand, little benevolence from her " I DO NOT LIKE THAT, NEXT STOP, UP AND OUT of Frustr8. Only blessing, it returns up so fast there isn't any oder. Wonder if interaction and peristalsis returns or will she forever be an Tupperware container with a small pin- point leak in the bottom., opening into the jejunem, section #2 of the small intestine, I know a lot about the mechanics of surgery, but learning the after effects as I go. I need to commission a t- shirt to quiet a few people. It will say "Long enough to to be effective, short enough I am not constantly malnourished" So How's Yours?" Would you believe we once had an entire thread on this subject? It was still going strong when I joined into Bariatric Pal. From all that I read , people constantly was to know how long bypasses are and how thick or thin VSG sleeves run. Don't worry so much myself, just want Precious to gain some maturity and start behaving herself. I give her good health and hearty food, chewed into a glutinous paste, never spit out mouthful to see if they are a grayish shade, but they should be senile as long as meals take. People kvetch about a month or six weeks of liquids, put on my moccasins, yours truly has been partaking of protein shakes since last summer, some shake company ought to hire me as food taster, I now have the training and experience.????????!

Unexpected Side Effects
You sound like me, I did the entire. month of August 2018, knew by my surgeon's actions I must have had NASH, many obese people do, worked and worked well, lost 15 pounds, but I had the smooth, sleek liver of a newly born calf, made my surgery easier on Dr Needleman and myself. Know the top scar, just below my sternum, was where he placed the liver retractor, a lot more easy to place a small one instead of a thick, one with " load levelers" built in. My daddy once had a car with load leveler shocks, if made. a really neat, whirring noise if there was anything heavy,in the back end of the vehicle. Was a very, nest vehicle, we were, very happy with it until the garage towed it in for repair of something else, broke those shocks and it was never quite right afterwards. Stupid Mechanics!

Question on how you deal with the WLS haters...
A true assessment from my own youth. Beauty is skin- deep Ugly ( and I believe rudeness also) goes through to the bone. Those people do not hate you and your WLS struggles half as much as they hate themsekves, they are lashing out at someone they think weaker. Stay strong, Prove them Wrong!

Cognitive Behavior Therapy? My best guess.

Insurance
The bestest part? if you are above 40 BMI co- morbidities are not necessary. Of course, at the age of 72, I had picked up a few along the way, but they are among the most reasonable with requirements. One of my friends had an insurance that demanded she write an essay on how she could not stick to a diet, she felt very demeaned by the process. You know, you try so hard you're nearly biting your lips and it just doesn't work.

❤ APRIL 2019 CHALLENGE❤
My April 2nd offering is a combine of # 1 and 10. For #1,i have a NSV, well there is a little scale in there also. I dropped a size in less than a month, Now a 20'22( 2 X )from my faithful old 26W, I'm a little perturbed I had bought a pair of pull- up denim pants, and now the pull-up is fall- down .Only wore them once, been hanging in closet, and now, short of suspenders, I can't wear them! And #10 I am proud of my 30 pound weight loss in just one, month. I have felt very hateful toward my body, I had tried. all those diets, and it constantlyfought and failed me. Thank you body for helping me now to,lose, it's got to be 50% or more working with surgery, but I think you do ❤me after all And I'm going to stop putting you down, you're a good body after all. Might rub you with some sweet smelling lotion, make you feel all soft and smooth. Lets be best friends from now on!

My surgeon....
Then GradyCat, she deserves her chance to be listed, I talk fairly constantly about my Dr Needleman, gosh I guess I do have a professional crush on him, he and his beautiful partner Dr Sabrena Noria, are skillful wonderful surgeon's and also wonderful to know. She looks like a beautiful Arabian Princess, but don't let the outside fool you, she is without a doubt superior intellect as well. But are they listed? Can't really tell, I do my Bariatric' palling with an android Smartphone, not on computer, and those features are for the laptop and home computer crowd. I can't even update my profile, not that I haven't tried. I get reassured that these things will be phased into Apple and Android systems and I do believe it can be done, but it seems to be moving slowly. Things always move slowly when you really want something!

All for nothing?
And you can talk to us, even when you feel like hitting your head against something, even when they build walls of brick that you feel like you can't surmount. We're here, many of us have battled against the many tentacled beast that is for-profit insurance in the USA in 2019. And quite a few have managed to win!

Weight-loss funnies
OMG you just channeled the pre-surgery Frustr8 there, DanaC84. I sorrow to admit this but there were times I would sit down with a big Size Bag of Lays Honey bar-b-que chips, sit down to watch TV or Cable, start munching away and didn't stop until the bag was empty. The other night Tomkitten tried to tempt me with a baked one, could not even finish it, seemed about as tasty as a piece of wax paper. Why did I used to engore like that? Seems like a story of someone else, couldn't have been ME! But alas, it really was.?

Easter candy problems
Well I like Jelly Beans more than Gum Drops, pulled a filling out of a molar,on a Jellied Orange Slice once. But stay strong, I know you can do it, one thing about your Slow movement ahead in Canada, you have developed strength and resilience. Nobody can say it's "Spur of the Moment" it's more like You want the Province or Federal government to pay this? Okay here is your Time Line! Seems like it it weeds out the " flash in the pan" types, they either give up or run off to Mexico if they can afford it! Gosh, I am glad you're vack, still have that one time about If You can't see way into the future, can you do one hour, one day?. I know THERE was more, but I printed it off and kept it because it REALLY HELPED!

October 2018 Sleevers
So I do hope Friday you get answers, and answers YOU can live with, at your doctor's office. Do let me know updates, guess because I am OLDER than dirt, I do worry about everyone else on Bariatric Pal. Maybe I am rocking my Granny- Great Granny- hood, well we all got something to rock, don't we? Makes life bouncy and interesting, we may be individuals but we are all still united in getting. thinner, better and healthier on here and isn't that just the COOLEST THING?

October 2018 Sleevers
And I hope he steps up and starts figuring some things out! I am a recent (3 month) PICC line user (November 29 2018- February 26 2019) although I was happy with lessing of my malnourishment symptoms and believe you me, YOU CAN FEEL A DIFFERENCE, I realize now the 1400+ calories it contained slowed my weight loss almost to a stand- still. About a pound or so a month. March 1, so right after -267 pounds , now I do not own a home scale, after ichucked one in the dumpster after it refused work right, long before surgery, when I was trying to lose weight with my diet pills and was getting nowhere fast, bet I am the only person in history to take 1 month of Phenteramine and GAIN 30 pounds! So I only weigh at my PCP and surgeons offices. Drum Roll Please- March 26 2019- 234.6 pounds, my Golden Honeymoon Months may NOT be over- they always you have just so many months of smoother quicker weight loss and then things slow down. This makes me feel better about ME, see I started out in October 2017 with a highest admitted weight of 365+ , I say "plus" because I was so disheartened by how my body was " back-stabbing" my best efforts to lose, I refused to climb on another scale. Figured the the next step would be the Farmers Equity where they weigh out feeds on a massive scale. Went through a bariatric Plan for the second time, quite a story there, went almost all the way , my job was terminated, lost the insurance that would paid it and surgeon's office failed to inform me I could have gone with my secondary which had less stringent requirments and I could have had my surgery, although I was one month short of finishing Plan # 1 requirments, this was August 2015 through January 6 2016. PCP sent me back to that place again after the monster weight gain, went through all their. specifications, jumped in and out of hoops they erected, tried to act righteous, followed their " Company Rules" only to be told in February 2018 their head surgeon. no longer felt any urge to do my surgery, would not permit his 2 or 3 partners to do it either. Yep kicked" right to the curb" after he had raped my insurances of all the monies He could get. I finally got mental closure on it, God says I should forgive the Stupid Sack,of Offal, but I shall never forget! So I transferred to OSU, the place I should have gone to in the first place. Would you believe my PCP sent me to place #1 because he thought it was " Christian- Based" and what a Giant Farce that was! Went through Ohio States requirements, there were a few extras I still had to do, but in consideration of me not filing an equivalent of "Breach of Promise suit" they were forced to release all my previous records with no detrimental observations. And another thing to my benefit , Ohio State actually liked me, pledged to work with me to make my weight loss journey and surgery a Good Thing. And on September 5th 2018 I received the RnY bypass I had been struggling to receive for over 3 years. It will be forever my Wonder Wednesday, my Day of Days when all my mental pain, all my sorrows and my feelings of unworthiness went away. And I am eternally grateful for the second surgeon, he was a better person as well as a more skilled and compentant surgeon than that poor excuse for a Human Being I first encountered. As you may have guessed I have not had the easiest of healings afterwards, I am now 73 and some things just don't heal as qucickly or smoothly as they might were I In my 20s or 30s, but THEY have been with me, supportive all the way! " This isn't working? Okay we will find an alternate way of doing it!"And although I could not have forecast these 7 months they have still contained joys and successes. I am still in IT to WIN IT and the rest of my life will be the BEST of my life. This is a vow, I am seeing Onderland ahead for me, where I can break the 200 pound barrier and in the distance shining like a beacon is my Finish Line, my Victory Lane and I am going to make it THERE! My Will is STRONG, my body? Well it may be only along for the ride but we are going to make it THERE!

POst op question
Well they must have left me screwed up inside. It feels like Precious Pouch sits in the middle , under the sternum and on top of my diaphragm, when I was complaing of right subcostal pain and worried my liver was failing, Dr Noria told me it was merely my ulcerated jejunem crying out, wanting to be healed. If things aren't located where I am feel7ng things, my abdominal nerves are sending ME lying messages about what is wrong. Bad when your innards get treacherous like that, who can you really trust?

❤MARCH 2019 CHALLENGE❤
well Well March is marching out and away for us all. My biggest success March 1st 267 pounds, March 26th- don't own a scale so I weigh at my PCP and Surgeon only- 234.6, a lot of it is the almost stall I was in while on TPN and with a PICC line in, but after watching wistfully while everyone else was losing quicker Frustr8's. Fantastic Fantasy has come true. And I am proud of ME, now that I believe again in me I am stepping up the few varieties of exercise I can don with two artificial knees, 2 shoulders next on the repair table, strangely the hips I would have, predicted have stayed in better shape, but I can do water therapy, pace my walking, considering putting out a garden as Ohio warms up, but Tomkitten and PCP groan this prospect but I want me a bike, yeah old Mom, Foolish Mom, but I live ,6 mile or 1 km,whichever you want to look at it, from a very nice city park called Riverside, figure I could ride there, rest a piece and then bike home. After both of them saying Exercise more, they want to" rain on my parade" ?But April may bring Power instead of showers, let's see if I can keep a loss going! May not be so spectacular, but every ounce gone is gone! Never inviting them to return, so let's see what the next 30 days bring!
