  1. You'll probably will go through a Sleep study, you may pick up Sleep Apnea, a lot if asthmatics c seem to have it, your BMI is v high b enough to be taken into account and your diet failures should count for something. UHC used to require a 6 months dietary supervision, but perhaps thats no longer valid. Hey if you want it badly enough, it will happen . Your surgeon and staff p,o how to work and dance the Insurance Boogie, I'm sure this isn't their first rodeo, after ALL Don't give into worry, it only tires YOU!❤ And anytime you want to talk there is always someone on BP who has been there and can help! I was an RnY, but many of my best buds were and are VSG and there is more in common than you would think! So just ask, anytime, any hour, I'm in Ohio, it's 4AM and I can't sleep. So I'm on here this morning to relax... . and slide into Slumberland.
  2. You could say something like you gave an owie that your doctor is going to help fix. At that age they still think doctors and adults can fix anything.
  3. Oh it is a challenge, I'm not perfect myself and I'm nearly 7 months. But I remind myself people do better on Fluid drive, dehydration really makes your pains and sorrow worse, I honestly do the 2 oz every 15 route, my pouch Ms Precious Pouch is a cranky taskmistress, the reason I'm awake and posting is she is not letting me sleep.. I simply am praying she doesn't want to engage in delayed vomiting or something. I'm still on Zofran, as well as Dexilent (PPI) and Carafate to heal my ulcers. I am not an average run- of- the-mill RnYer, but it is my Journey and I will get my final victory like everybody else, in the meantime It Is What It Is! Lived too long to cry about it, all my tears and fears have dried up, and I am still a tough old broad who is in it to Win it! Hey, set your mind to being a? success and you will be!???
  4. Oh do I have news for you, not only do we have B.C. the ever present Ontario and P.Am we recently acquired a Newfoundlander and a P. E. I., and while you were inactive a Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, but I think they have both moved on to the thinner life. I think the PEI is maybe having her surgery on shore in Labrador, but of course they all have my well wishes! Told the Maritimers and PQ I would sing O Canada in their success, but I think they didn't mind the threat and still had success. I had 5 years of French , grades 7 through12, I really should take the challenge of learning it in French, one of my instructors was from Alabama, so some words have a drawl . When I. talked to my penpal in Dollard Des Ormeaux( Montreal suburb) I think it was all she could do to keep from giggling. Haven't. heard from her for a while , her hubby was a professor at McGill, I think Chemistry.
  5. It has a lit of bad press, but if it works, this old broad says- Go for It, life is too short to be in misery!
  6. Still have my lymphadema, probably will rest of my misbegotten life, but I am awake at 3 AM, so maybe not missbegotten, as much as blah. But I can also report my feet have narrowed out of wide width, my legs have reverted back to more normal shapely human legs from looking a cross between dining table pedestals and an elephant foot umbrella stand. And when I'm looking me over in the sunny light of day my shape is returning. Oh my tummy will never be perfect and flat, 3 9-pound babies, lax muscles and too too many years of obesity, but it's okay, it is what it is and it beats death all hallow, doesn't it? I can cram it into clothes, which I am dropping sizes on, Yippee Skippee. for me, I swore I would be stuck a 26- 28 W forever, bought the 30s in my former closet to sleep in, now I can see 20s coming soon! Ever deminishment is, Gee I haven't been this size since____insert a good memory here!! And when I'm not crabby I'm proud of the woman I am becoming, because I , best of all, know what she went through. I remember the chairs I got stuck in because I was too wide or I just didn't have strength to get up on my own. I remember sitting on an old wooden kitchen chair because relatives wouldn't let me on the GOOD furniture, then time I got stuck in the back seat, even with Tomkitten and his help I ended up with visible bruising .Of not having the stamina not to keep with others on a walk, having to rest halfway up a set of stairs, having take showers because I could s u t v down safely in the tub. These are a few of my sad memories, and almost every obese person has them. Of having Morbid Obesity on every record paper, Oh I yearn for a mere Overweight classification, and it shall soon come! I told someone recently I am half the Woman I used to be and twice as happy with myself, never dreamed of such deminishment in weight, starting to look like my dead relatives, still okay, some were very nice people who would cheer me on if they hadnt exceeded their earthly years. Of course there would be a Wisenheimer or 2,one branch was populated with smart alecks, the difference, they could not degrigate me any longer, I'm stronger in spirit, would look them in the eye, not cry but give back as good as I got! And ooh I have years of verbal abuse to have cremated! But I would never. return to the Old Days when the New Days and life are so much better!*!???
  7. And I may be right behind you in the Belt queue, I have always figured that a belt would look like a rope around a sack of grain, so steered clear of them, but at goal I think shall be able to do it with firm resolve.
  8. What we all want is someone who can make us forget we ever were sad. A tall order, that maybe why we are still looking at this point.
  9. I guess Too Good To Be True really is!
  10. And PLEASE let us know what happens to you, I can figure many things out( because I'm rather a medical geek) but this has me mystified, and I so want you to feel better! I care about all my WL friends, just the nurtured way my mind runs.
  11. I now see me at my Goal Weight, even though I haven't made it there yet. I am able to do so much more activities than I could at the degree of Obesity I was at. And Tomkitten looks much as he does now, so I take this to mean it could and would be soon, like within a year or so from now. So March 2020 is when I plan to set the Silver Sneakers crowd on ? fire! Yes I am within 35 pounds of the goal just under 200 Valerie Dr Needleman's Nurse Practioner set but inately I would like to try for the 175 I have dreamed of and to be a 15 Junior, because that's where I believe I belong. So I think I am still heavy awake but asleep I am healthy , smaller and happy, Oh so happy, the Fat Shell has cracked, fallen off, and I will never wear it again! I am justified by all that has gone before but I now can live the life I was MEANT to have!
  12. Hmmm I hadn't thought of a text. I guess it would be" She saw it needed done and did it!" or perhaps " In it to win it- and I did!" And what would the rest of you have tattoed????
  13. Well your next labs should tell the story, if they are cool, then you've got it beaten. I was mildly deficent in D, well who isn't in the American Midwest? We don't want frostbite or to wet ourselves before we peak down all the layers. Also added Ferrocite, I was getting some iron in my prenatal vitamins, yeah my dietician recommended them, but not enough. Well evidently it still wasn't enough because I had an Iron INFUSION on March 11th. It wasn't that bad but as my body came to terms with it I had a tsunami of fecal urgency, black, sticky at first but on and on until the last three were like filthy mopwater. Did I retain enough? Geeze, I hope so, my PCP told me, he didn't order it , my Bariatric surgery people did that, that I might have these every 3 months. That would make the next one June Tomkitten birthday month, as a matter of fact almost exactly it. Maybe while we're in Columbus I will take him to dinner. Now that I weigh less than him , he's thinking of asking Dr Needleman himself about whether he would,be a candidate. It would be a fate date , since they share initals. Told him this is one decision you make for yourself, Mama can help and support but it is up to you! I am a whole 20 pounds lighter although he would tell you it's only 15. Do you know how hard I have worked for this day? There was a day where I was over a hundred pounds larger. Not a good time, not a happy time, a heading for my death time. And I dropped weight pretty quick after my PICC line was discontinued, Oh it wasn't,too bad to have, kind of became,my friend, but like my dietary ex- boyfriend, "quick fast-food" I didn't lose that much weight with it around, 1400 calories kicked my tushie badly, was losing maybe a pound a month. Wow I am back to my Golden Honeymoon of WL. Anybody want to know what I weigh now? Gonna tell you anyway! 234.6 pounds, now all you peeps that started in the 200s and are now trying discretely to stifle a yawn, Moi. started this endeavour at 365+, I say plus because after I was weighed at that point I refused to climb upon a scale again. Figured the next step was Farmers Equity where they weigh out feed. Might have considered offing myself but feared I'd miss and how do you explain that burned part in your head where the bullet creased your head. Oh I can shoot animals, I just draw the line at ME. Someday I'll tell the story of how Late Lamented and I went deer- hunting. I shot a 10 and half point buck, he just cursed his fool head off because I shot that buck, he winged a tree limb. Never went hunting again. Okay I shot my quota of squirrels and such with my Daddy and my custom - painted rifle. In those days you couldn't get pink camo so Daddy's friend customed for me. Why did I learn to hunt? Well my boy cousins wanted to, so why shouldn't I? Late Lamented called it the Candy Stick but it shot straight and true. Actually shot the deer with HIS gun, he didn't think I could do it! Don't challenge me, I play for keeps, and that's how it's gonna be with Weight Loss, might not lose as fast as the younger chicks but I am in it to Win it, and Win It I Shall. A joke about my Redheadness. Do you what aredheaded woman driver is like? We're a lot like blonde ones except we will lconvince you That Accident was all Your Fault!
  14. Thanks Maury for that statenent, it happens to us all and I don't have an explaination either. Maybe Ken S, our Tech Guru or Alex Brecher, our Bariatric Pal founder can explain.???
  15. @MrsGamgee, I have missed you so! Hope things are good in Red Deer Alberta and happy that time. and Provincial /Canadian National Health care says it's Time! Now please update us all of the doings as they occur. So so happy it is finally? time!??
  16. Well I was the OP who started this. last year. Thought I would do a mini- brag so you know it's possible. My highest weight documented 365+pounds, my Surgery Weight 319 and now almost 7 months out, my SD was September 5th 2018 at 7AM, for my surgeon I got up a 3AM to make it To Columbus in time! But it was a Wonder Wednesday, a Day if Days and the start of a new life. Now the crest of my life will be the best of my life. Any- hoo, I am proud to announce I am 234.6. pounds of less fat and stretched out skin, well wasn't planning to be in Playboy or Penthouse at 73 anyway. The loose is where I can stuff it under clothing, first places I lost were my face and forearms, but finally the rump, thighs and belly have joined in, never have a totally flat belly, carrying 3 babies 9 pounds plus does something to the muscles too, but better where I am Now than where I was before and I would never go back to the sad obese lady sitting because she barely could walk waiting for the Death Angel to come claim me as his own, Oh it has not been an easy journey but so so worth it. And I wish the joy for all of us! Your littler by the Day Pal Frustr8
  17. Thanks Catwoman7, Incidently I always rooted for you over Batman, he got tedious at times! PussyCat Power Forever!
  18. You are correct, it was a female! I should have let my Red hair take over and expressed just how offensive I found such a question. She was a real piece of work, wasn't she!
  19. Ooh that's exactly the kind I want, still got more to lose before I'm ready but that day will come. Sounds like yours is little more than a hysterectomy scar. I actually had a surgeon make fun of me because I had not had one, where does it say One must have a hysterectomy before weight loss surgery? Shoot, that would have disqualified me as well as all our Bari-brothers. Needless to say Dr SmartMouth did not receive the honor of doing my surgery, and I hope someday he receives Sensatvity Training. Well much more I wish other plagues on him, but let's pretend I am A LADY.
  20. And usually when you do change your lifestyle, when you start thinking a little more rationally than " I got to eat THAT before someone else grabs it and takes it away!" you will naturally lose some weight, I think I lost 16 pounds from when I transferred to OSU and their program and when I had my pre-surgical appointment with Dr Needleman in Mid- July, so maybe 3 or 3.5 months time . Of course I started with a BMI of 50 or just under, so any weight loss was a GOOD THING. 7 months later I have broken the 40 BMI and the 36 BMI barriers and I am Proud Proud Proud of ME! And I know I could not have achieved this success without Dr Needleman's Magic Stapler and my RnY and my Red- headed Stubborness not t9 give up. If you have followed my journey, you know my trek has not been a straight shot, a lot of hair- pin turns, some quicksand, bumps and detours, but Baby I'm in IT to WIN IT and I shall! FYI I decided I really would shrink my liver, did it the entire month of August 2018 and it paid off handsomely, Dr N said my l8ver was smooth and sleek as a newborn calf. After I reassured myself I wasn't gonna be turned into veal, I realized the compliment he paid ME!
  21. You know on my print- out I receive from my PCP it states I have "intractable cerviogenic and low blood sugar headaches" but af5er my surgery it's like my thermostat reset, I am not bothered as badly with them or migraines, hadn't thought about it before, but when you aren't bothered, you don't fret the absence. And I wish the same good reaction for YOU!❤
  22. My little couplet I put up for myself on the fridge: Each Day, with the Dawn..... More discomfort and pain is Gone. Helped me remember the old Bible verse " This Too Shall Pass" & that it means pain is not forever! There is always more sunshine to life if you look for it!
  23. My first psych exam , the one for the abortive first program, the one I went through twice and then denied, I remember one real winner "Do you hate your mother and how many years have you felt. that way? " Now I concede my relationship with my mama wasn't perfect, sometimes we were differing in opinions on things, but I loved her and I believe, to the best of her ability, she loved me in return. So what a Sh***y thing to ask somebody. Told my Dr Kramer who was evaluating me for OSU about that, he looked at me ,shocked, and said OMG are they still using that form? That one went out with the dinosaurs! I would NEVER ask such a thing, at least not at first encounter. If later in therapy my patient/client expressed that ,we might discuss it, but it certainly should not have been a screening question!?
  24. Wear your compression stockings if you have them, do foot pumps where you wiggle your feet up and down, at least hourly. I speak from the lofty perch of lymphadema, you DO NOT WANT blood and fluids not moving. Lymphadema is not a fun thing to have? and blood clots are? life-threatening. We just got you? remodeled , renovated and realigned, don't want to lose you now!?
  25. I have so many stretch marks .at 7 months my scars are virtually invisible. That and the fact Dr Needleman is one meticulous dude. If all surgeons were like him. I would be in the queue for plastic surgery all ready. Since I am prone to breakdowns and fungal move- ins, and have pictures and dates to prove it, should be easier to secure. I just want one that doesn't leave scars like I was caught in farm equipment, corn shelters and log choppers come to mind!
