  1. if anyone what's to know what happened next go to the Marginal. Anastomosis ulcer thread. Oh my story is NOT OVER!
  2. Hello All! Anybody miss ME? Two guesses and the first one doesn't count. I am in my Hospital, yep the self-same Ohio State University-Wexner Medical Center you've heard me talk about. Lets see, where shall I start? Last Tuesday I saw Dr Needleman himself, no not just a nurse-practitioner, the head honcho, numero uno top dog. Met his very nice resident Steven Scoville MD, very nice guy. He said when he set eyes on me You don't feel good , do you? Usual spunky me would have said. No S***, I did feel crappy, just hung my head and nodded, told him I Feel broken, like a toy that has been played with too hard and thrown to one side. Well he dicussed th8ngs with me, said even if I were broken Dr Noria his partner and he knew h9w to fix me. Lest than 5% of patients have this torture road to recovery. Had to have a bag of saline IV fluid instilled before I went home. And he reminded me to be sure to keep my Endoscopy appointment with Dr Noria, that way they would be able to gauge what was going on internally. My Wednesday appointment was 8AM with Dr Noria, so we left Mount Vernon a little after 6 AM, figuring we would be back home 10 or 10:30. Not how things played out. Dr Noria got down into my stomach and intestine and things were not well. Stomach wall, red swollen, not able to do dilatation, and not only were my 5 ulcers not healing but I was starting to ulcerate further down into the bowels of ME. So I became a guest and here I remain.Thurday night I had a PICC line installed, last night the first TPN was started which should conclude t9night at 11:59 PM. Don't know what I am supposed to feel like so guess I am tolerating it well. Luckily it's in my upper inner left arm, was fearful it would go into my subclavian and be in my chest wall. And I really didn't WANT that very much. Why do I have the TPN? Dr Noria was concerned that I would not be able to do the 90-120 grams protein needed daily P.O. or that maybe the protein I was ingesting wasn't breaking down and assimilating bodily. This bypasses the G.I. system and gives it a chance to heal up. I have an intake sheet. to fill out l8ke I did when I had my RnY surgery. It may be a bit of "busy work" to keep me occupied, but I have my infantry of 1oz cups, as I empty 1 I mark it down, when they all are empty I refill them with Peach- Mango liquicell, and here we go again! Estimated date of dismissal. will be 12/03/2018, that is if things go well with no set backs. Des N and Steven have turned me over this weekend to the junior residents, although Dr Needleman is back-up and attending on call. I am actually starting to feel like myself more and more. Oh still not pain-free totally but it is no longer a 4 alarm fire in my guts and for that I am grateful. How are all you doing?????
  3. since July 31st I have lost average American's oil/ fat consumption, now on to the" smaller" and better things???
  4. Yes Gastric Bypass is reversible, a lot harder operation than the original one. The only person I know of on Bariatric pal, her pen name is @ Ronnysgal, she went through a bypass revision .
  5. Do you also think plain water tastes bitter, surely, I Am Not,the only one who thinks so. ??
  6. And respect the surgery, both bring a world of change to,your lifestyle, your life and you. If you trivelize the impact, Karma gonna get You!,,,, Just ?....saying!
  7. If Georgia doesn't work out there are quite a few in North Carolina.
  8. Well for many people on Bariatric Pal it is h. pylori bacterium, course of antibiotics, time and you're all better. Mine- a little more complex. I am mildly COPD, no never smoked, but I have it anyway. Always on verge of bronchitis so PCP had me on long course of demulcents, yeah cleared up my lungs but also destroyed protective gastric mucus layer. Then when I took NSAIDS 4 at a time because I have constant arthritic pain, it chewed right into my gastric lining. Went into Bariatric Surgery with gastritis and Hector, my quietly sleeping gastric ulcer present. I had been on omeprazole (Prilosec) when these were discovered, gastroenterologist had switched me to a stronger PPI Dexilent, which worked well. I couldn't believe it when Bariatric Clinic put me back,of the stinking omeprazole. Told them This is NOT GOING TO WORK, did they listen, of course not. 2 weeks in I said " there is something wrong" and I got poo-pooed. Kept saying,it, finally to shut up my yammering they scheduled an endoscopy and who was right? ME ME ME! And now we are playing catchup, trying belatedly to fix things. They may be the professionals but I have lived in THIS BODY a long time!
  9. OMG I am so sorry. I will tell you it gets bettet, but at 12 weeks I haven't hit my sweet spot. Oh I have lost weight, lost 64+ pounds since July 31st when I started on my Liver-shrinking diet, losing like a seasick anorexic sailor, but something is not quite right with me. Consultation with my surgeon, Dr Needleman, the chief of Bariatric Medicine at Ohio State University Hospital- Wexner Medical Center. A very big title for a very wonderful place, well worth the 48 mile drive from where I live. What will he say? I have been having biweekly stretching of my stomal stricture, as a sleever YOU WILL NOT have THIS, any close problems for you are still different. Niggling in the back of my mind? Possibility of open abdominal surgery? Not as much fun to heal from but I feel, at this point, BROKEN, and I have developed 5 nasty Ill-tempered new ulcers, these are the, kind that could bleed and, perforate. You run more likelihood of Donald J Trump gett8ng on National Tv and apologizing for being an disappointment as a President and promising to do better! But, my friend, you will make it through, so shall I and there are sunny ?days ahead for both of us! Our Heaven awaits!
  10. Go Theresa Go! You can and will do just fine!
  11. So exciting! Remember Labor Day, just before my RuN on September 5th. I was so excited I almost vibrated off the walls. It was a life change, a lifestyle change, and I still after 12 weeks haven't got things perfect. But I am trying and believe I will smooth out the bumps and twists in my personal journey. Keep your ??peaceful, don't be scared of anything. We search , seek and find the best surgeon for,our own case, now the preparations are nearly over. Trust in your team, believe in yourself, in some ways your prejourney,is drawing to a close, but in others the hard work is now starting. You will, have a new bright shining tool, now make it WORK for you. And GOD bless ?and keep you on surgery day. If you need to talk more you can always find ME or another Bari- Pal on here!
  12. Kraft French onion chip dip, the one that Tastes, like you stirred the beef onion soup in. That was one of my guilty pleasures. And I would grab the white cheddar Cheezits if a small bag went galloping by .
  13. Weight Loss success- got to ?it÷
  14. Did anyone find out what NOOM, COM IS?
  15. Chili, it will be grainy and gritty, okay as long as it doesn't remind you of sand or fine kitty litter. Your sandwich, ditch the bread, don't really need it, and add some liquid. Yeah many items can be pureed, I like applesauce and peaces canned in no syrup, own juice or water-pack.
  16. And the missing above, term is pale, pale?& pasty gray.?
  17. Worse in the mirror, lighting is usually off and I think I look more or pasty than I usually am. Keep in mind it is the edge of Winter in Ohio and I have lost most of not all of my summer tan. All that remains are freckles and age spots. And if I went back to wearing makeup I have to get a lighter shade, what I have now 2 shades too tanned and dark.?????
  18. Someone gave me Burts Bee for,my surgery time. Very Good Stuff.

  24. yeah still ashamed I still feel ugly, decades of fat-shaming to get past. Sickly joked to myself, nobody wants MINE unless they have rats or bugs to scare away. Tomkitten says I'm it half as ugly as I think I am. That's why I am going to spring for future GlamourShots to help with my self- confidence. Sure I will never look 20 or 30, bariatric surgery only " youthfuls" your appearance so far, but can I look an Happier 72? Its rough, today Precious Pouch is spasming on me, been taking things in slowly and lightly, no urping yet, but it puts worse than a scowl on my face!???
  25. Pork is notorious for upsetting gall bladders and other digestive areas. My Daddy used to call Pork Broth "Devil Broth" for that reason. Do you by chance still have YOUR gall bladder?
