  1. 23 long, no one wants to take me there, miles north of here. well I'll wait until tomorrow and try weighing options. I can find transport for doctors appointments but no one wants to take me shopping.
  2. Dr Needlman charged $5000, the hospital( OSU) charged $14,550 so there is almost $20,000. And a sleeve is $1000-1500 less. Wouldn't,it be nice if they gave =early, payer. discount?
  3. I went to check out Krogers because my Wal-Mart deleted the. Protein20 and I couldn't find Anything . What a failure that was!
  4. Just steer clear of Wal-Mart's Equate brand shakes, I found them NASTY!
  5. Thank you Fancy Christine, that's a brand I haven't tried. Good suggestion.
  6. Hmmn that Just Might be something good to try!
  7. Any more that are another flavor besides chocolate?
  8. Can you use sugar free pudding as a base?
  9. And can anyone figure out a non- chocolate homemade shake? Anything but vanilla, I am beginning to LOATHE vanilla!
  10. A lot of people seem to have to follow up with later gall bladder removal but I don't recall pancreatitis cases on here although I can see how there would be a possibility. I think to avoid gallstone difficulties is why many surgeons give a script, for ursadiol.
  11. My bari-friend Puppycat is also Monday, I am sure there are many others also, looks to be a very good Life-Changing day.
  12. SkinnyMiki you do have us, make us your honorary family. We will cheer your victories, sympathize with your sorrows and believe in you even when you don't believe in yourself. And if that isn't what a family does, its pretty clise!
  13. Gummies usually not recommended because of their high corn syrup/ sugar, content. Isn't that, what you had surgery to escape? No fair jumping back into the fire when you escaped once!
  14. A glorified catheter. Your surgeon puts it down into your stomach to measure the diameter he wants to leave your sleeve.before removing the rest of your no longer needed stomach remnant. In theory the smaller the diameter, the more restiction, and less can be eaten at your meals. Although there ate several common sixes your surgeon is skillful enough,i can gauge the right size for each, person. Might be judged by height, activity level,,what his instructors advised him or her when they were "baby" surgeons, just learning the trade. Many facets but you chose the best, now let the best work for YOU!
  15. Oh Yeah, Rhode Island Quality shining there! Small state but you represent it Great!
  16. Don't measure only pounds, measure inches lost and how you feel. Those are also important, the book of You that you are writing will still be a best seller, Believe in You- for you are great and good and you'll still show the world how things are done.
  17. And I believe in YOU and I believe you'll make every goal you set!
  18. Wonderful and I wish you only the best. Do you have a definate goal you're aiming for?
  19. And Don't It make Your Blue Body Pale? (sorry Chrystal Gayle, I couldn't resist the paraphrase!) LOL?
  20. Thank you Sasha, since my dream size is a 15 junior, you have given me a concrete visualization of HOW GOOD I AM going to LOOK!
  21. The white cheddar for me, is it all Cheezits? or are you a Specialist?
  22. And although you might be getting pricey, there are plant based , like pea protein or I think I read of someone who got hers from eggs or egg derivative. My grandma Ada, Daddy's mama, and didn't Mama hated her, a lot whirring in the grave, I get more like her in attitude, different shade of skin, Grandma showed her Native Amrican/First Nation roots, I am fair, red-haired/ginger but we grow more alike as time goes on. Granma Ada's saying "The Good Lord never made an itch, He didn't make a Scratcher to Fit it! "which means if you look and search long enough there is ALWAYS an answer!
  23. Sounds as though it is working for you, wise dietician. reminded me on a "blue day" we each fight our own battles, blaze our own trails, each have sorrows but at the end we each achieve a victory our size , our shape and that everyone that tries ultimately becomes a Winner! Sometimes when I see others victories, I get envious, I get blinded to the fact that I too am a Winner in the Bariatric Wars even if I don't win this skirmish. I was built for endurance, not exploding in the sprints, So Chug Chug this ?this Choo Chop will make it to the Grand Station of Life Yet!
  24. Pretty Sure you are Correct?
  25. Well , you know where I got mine from was CNN. a few years ago, a young girl in Iran who was not protesting, not rebelling, simply going from area of Tehran to another, maybe 20 years old, radical misogynists gunned her down for no worse sin than being out without male escort. At that time the CNN correspondent, perhaps Nic Robertson, said another beautiful young flower of Islam whose life was snuffed out. And this was long before your posts and mine ever crossed paths. Feel free to Remain the Flower of Southern Womanhood if You Like.
