  1. I used some gauze for a while (or a really wide bandaid). Hope it feels better soon !
  2. I am way too private for pics lol.
  3. Every morning but only track it 1-2 times per week (tues and sat). If there isn’t a loss on tracking days I don’t track. (Haven’t had any gains). I find benefit to keeping myself accountable and on track- and I’d rather know ASAP if things are not moving in the right direction. Weighing doesn’t really upset me but if it did I’d likely put the scale somewhere and only take it out on tracking day(s).
  4. Headache passes! It’s just a withdrawal headache . Don’t rethink- you’ll regret it.
  5. I used to be so depressed after seeing my PCP. Some of the comments were just unfiltered...which I tend to like, but when it involves a sensitive subject, well, it hurts lol. However it was a main push in the WLS direction so ....
  6. Generally limit ( or omit) the starchy vegetables like: Beets Carrots Corn Green Peas Parsnips Plantain Pumpkin Sweet Potatoes Taro White Potatoes Winter Squash, such as acorn or butternut squash Yams The same can be said about starchy fruits to avoid: The most starchy fruits are plantain, banana and dried fruits such as figs, raisins and dried apricots. Essentially they turn into sugars--which we dont eat a lot of anymore.
  7. Hi ! Congrats on your amazing start! Wow 52 lbs already! I spent my time researching here and on the web on tips and expectations, packed....and generally tried to stay busy and not obsess haha. Clean the house, go shopping for just the essentials or whatever else you wont want to do for the first week or so. The days will go by quickly, especially if youre working in the leading days. For me, surgery was really uneventful. The gas pains for the first few days was the worst part-- so just focus on walking a lot during that time (and getting in water). My taste buds really didnt change but others have experiences with that so dont buy too many protein shakes in case you dont like that brand after surgery. Premier protein is my favorite. Post here often -- and update us . This community is an amazing support. You've got this . (and its amazing!)
  8. Youll be fine 6 months out.... and more energy than now. Good for you for going for it! Congrats!
  9. For me no it didnt. Lasted just the beginning month(s)....honestly just went away and I dont remember when. Now I just get the hiccups when Im full hahah. (just 1-2 small ones). I think maybe the pain was just healing . Feel better!
  10. what an amazing program, congratulations on your date!
  11. Today's weigh in officially marks 100 lb loss and I couldn't be happier! what?!? I am still amazed with the transformational changes-- physical and emotional- that happen throughout our journey. I wouldn't have thought this was possible-- or that I would have a healthier relationship with food? So grateful and feel amazing.
  12. I did have a similar pain pre surgery life and was diagnosed with what’s called nutcracker esophagus . It’s reflux related. Not sure if that’s helpful but thought I’d mention it. Sounds like a similar pain
  13. Nothing to add for solutions- just wanted to give my well wishes. I hope you figure it out fast and feel better!
  14. Organic sweet chicken sausage (80 cal with 13 protein) with spicy mustard. Y.U.M. One link cut up- surprisingly filling. I’m addicted .
  15. It’ll get easier once you can have solid food. Still isn’t easy making food choices that you’ve learned but it gets a bit easier when you can eat a variety of things again.
  16. Just be careful on amounts- it’s a starchy vegetable . Starches turn into sugar. Check your nut plan for what stage you can introduce but typically 5-6 weeks out
  17. I chose bypass for max weight loss and saw that many people end up converting from sleeve to bypass. I also had reflux and that has a tendency to go away with bypass and come about more with the sleeve That said there are many people who are perfectly happy with the sleeve too so it’s a personal choice. Good luck with your decision. Use the search option on this site - this has been a topic many times and you may find the other threads helpful
  18. I’m mostly proteins too 7+months out. I did have a bit of avocado this week .
  19. For me that was my full feeling for a few months!
  20. Haha yea it’s loud but completely normal :) Get up and walk and it’ll move along!
  21. Nice ! Congrats!! Yes it is amazing!
  22. Nice work, congrats!
  23. Oikos triple zero yogurt is also a great source.... I think it has 15 g
