ChubRub's Plastic Surgery Thread
Very excited to follow your FL journey. It's on my list!

Are plastics worth it?
1. Does that price sound outrageous? Again it’s a good size job and I’m sure it’s more bc of that?? It seems a little high. Definitely get multiple quotes. Find a surgeon who best fits your needs. 2. Is there anything else I can do to reduce this tummy I know the big procedure is the only way to really do it but do these fat loss clinics (must be Lipo? ) clinics work? Nope, nothing will resolve the volume of loose skin most of us have without surgical removal 3. How painful was this? Very manageable for me. A lot of discomfort, very little pain 4. Would you do this in office? I wouldn't hesitate to do it in an office. It's more comfortable to recuperated at home than in a hospital setting. These procedures are regularly done as an outpatient. To answer your question, 100% worth it. Like @ChubRub said, plastics were life changing for me, like WLS was. WLS made me comfortable in clothes, PS made me comfortable in my own skin. I'm one of the Dr. Capella patients that @catwoman7 referenced. He specializes in massive WL patients and is very fairly priced. I love my results. My only caution is, he does better work on low BMI patients, with skin, not fat to remove. I was pulled tight, in a fantastic way!

Regrets?
As other have said, absolutely zero regrets. PS was just as important as WLS for my overall happiness & confidence.

Good news is, once you're at a normal weight you'll get a lot less questions. And if I do get asked, my answer "I have a small appetite" doesn't get the side eye that it did when I was heavy.

It is definitely weight/density thing for me. I can eat a large volume of salad. It's what I'll order if I don't want comments about how much I (don't) eat. But anything dense, it's a pretty exact 4 oz limit. How do I know? Because a frozen burrito is my perfect feeling of full ?

Regain 4 Years out
I can only speak to Mounjaro, but it actually doesn’t cause a drop in blood sugar, that’s not how it works. Hypoglycemia is only a risk if you’re also taking Insulin Secretagogues or Insulin. Good luck with however you choose to tackle regain!

I do too, I just had higher hopes with the goat cheese and all ? I'm eating them for breakfast because they're better than anything at the hotel buffet ?♀️

Regain 4 Years out
Regain happens! It's good you are addressing it now, and have relatively little weight to lose. I suggest looking into some of the new drugs that are being used off label for weight loss, like Mounjaro and Ozempic Good luck!

Back to the travel grind .. airport lounge food I only counted 1/2 the bagel because the side I ate was significantly thinner than the other.

I have hit a Plateau...
This exactly. This won’t be your last stall. They happen. Just stick to your plan and it will break.

Energy post-surgery
I found B12 supplements were critical a couple months post op. First I got them from my WLS surgeon during follow ups. Then I switched to sublingual pills once a week

I had been craving Chinese food so badly after returning from vacay, finally ordered in last night I have zero faith in the accuracy of this nutritional info. I threw in some oil because that was definitely undercounted

Cheated for the 1st time since surgery
As a vet, I'd like to kindly suggest you reframe your thinking. There's no cheating, there are no bad foods. You're still allowed to eat and enjoy food. It's all about balance. You don't need to feel guilty or do an extreme work out to make up for anything. You're going to need to find a sustainable way of eating and relating to food. Realistically, you likely ate under 1500 calories0 calories
