I have regained a bit as well and have been wanting to do the two week reset. I have heard from others that it works, but am not sure myself. I keep telling myself "I'll start tomorrow" then lunch rolls around and I am so hangry that I give in to food and not the shakes. I don't have a "team" and have never really had one. My doctor's office has always seemed uninterested and very in and out. The last time I talked with my doctor about the weight gain, they suggested I take Multivitamins and do some crunches. I have IC so going to the gym is difficult for me, so I feel like the reset would be most beneficial. When I finally do start, I will share my results.

I'm five years out after the sleeve I still can lose weight. I have gone under and over my goal weight at times. When I gain, I get it back down by logging my food and staying within my weight loss calories/macros.
I had a gain my third year and worked it back down.
    Some things to try:
To dial in the weight loss calories that work for you, log in an app (myfitnesspal) find where your current calories are. You can dial calories up by 100 or down by 100 to find your range.
    Hunger:
Eat small meals. every 3 hours. (Don't go over your weight loss calories and macros.) Years out, shakes may not keep you full and satisfied. Real whole foods. Dense Protein with items allowed on your plan. All the low calories veggies until full. The bulk and Fiber keeps the sensation of full longer. keep healthy sweet and salty item on hand to satisfy cravings. Night snacking.
a small Protein snack before bed Keep a veggie tray in the fridge. Allow yourself to snack on veggies. If you try to bargain with yourself for other options, you know its head hunger. Some threads to check out
intermittent fasting, doing the head work and the July weight loss challenge for motivation.

I'm having an awful time with returning to my old habits. I was doing so well and now I feel like I've wasted the opportunity I was given to get healthy. I have been thinking about trying a 10 day "reset diet" but I'm kind of skeptical if it actually works. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

No shame, you did what you did, that is the past... now do what you need to do to get on track.
Everyone of us has backslid in one way or another. Maybe it was a 5 pound gain or maybe it was a 50 pound one... but it is real life to tackle it and go back to basics.
I am 3 years out and finding that things have changed... yet again. It is much easier to regain and harder to relose them then it was previously. Its real life and we are all in this together sisters and brothers!!!

jennypenny1998 got a reaction from ProudGrammy in Two Years Out and Major Weight Regain
I'm a little over a year out and wasn't too big to begin with, so weight loss wasn't as huge, but I was down from 230 to 167. I went to the dr yesterday and weighed 190. I have been going to the gym, which is also hard for me to do since I have IC and working out causes flare ups. (Anyone else with IC on here?) I do eat bad sometimes, but have stayed on track for the most part as most "bad" foods also cause a flare up. And every Protein Shake I have tried for the past few months have been making me SO nauseous. Anyone have any suggestions? I wear a size medium in tops and a 10/12 in jeans. Although my size hasn't changed, the pounds have and I feel like you can see it. I have been so down about it and have been strict with what I eat. I need tips and motivation :(

I have gained 25 pounds on the dot and in the last month have only lost 5. So it is clear like you, I have slipped into old habits.
We worked too hard for this god damn it. It was NOT easy, it was pain and suffering. SO LETS DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!
I am going back to the old old old diet that I started on. I am going to be eating a clear Soup for at least 50 percent of my daily meals. No more junk, no more Snacks, NO MORE ALCOHOL. My capacity to eat is still really small.

Anyone wanna do a thing for a month? Like a support group? For real, no judging we encourage each other and try to reconnect with the habits that worked.

jennypenny1998 got a reaction from Frustr8 in When did you start losing hair?
I guess I noticed Hair loss about 3 months out. I still have thick hair so I wasn't affected by it too much. When I'm washing my hair, I can sometimes see strands falling out... a little scary but I'm trying different shampoos to see if it'll help.

Im interested in the answers to this as well. I've been worried about excess skin..(which is not a factor for me not to have surgery) but im curious to know about the removal surgery as well so i can kind of plan if i end up with a bunch of excess skin

I have had an Abdominoplasty with no tightening due to previous hernia repairs :-)
I had my hernia repaired normally - Without mesh - Then it came back in 2007 - So the second time it was repaired with mesh.
Then a few years after the hernia was fixed I had my Inverted T tummy tuck...... The surgeon said he tried to see what he could do - But had he repaired the muscle I would have been left with a lump down the middle. So he did not repair that - I am very happy! - There was virtually no pain after the op - Just tightness for a few days...
And that happened in 2010 and I am as happy today as I was after the op!
I attach a pic taken not long after the op...

And one of more recently... (2017 I think this one was)

I have noticed that a lot of belly buttons after surgery look like cats bums... lol
    Here are two pre-surgery pics...

I really hope that this helps. Take these pictures with you to show the Dr if you need to - My mesh is quite large - 15cm x 20cm it said on a piece of paperwork I have - Unless they cut it smaller of course but I can feel it in me and it feels large!
Feel free to send me a PM and ask all the questions you need to. I am happy to help.
Suffice to say that it can be done - There is nothing to worry about - And I am so very happy with my results - This surgery was done in 2010 - My belly is as flat today as it was back then I think - Heck I'll go take a picture - Be right back...
OK - I am back........ (Few minutes later)
Here you go - Taken just now - The op was in April 2010 if I remember correctly..... This is today... Please excuse the marks from Jeans/Belt etc - LOL - Daughter said you won't be able to see my scar because of the Jeans having left marks.. Sorry about that......

I really hope that is of some help....
    *Edit again*
I want to say here - That after you have this surgery (Or any surgery like this) - No matter what the Dr says - You get some 3M paper tape and you put it on and keep it on - Replacing it as needed etc - Every day - All day - All night - For THREE MONTHS - No matter what - Support the scar whilst it heals - Then your scar will be a lot less visible than mine is. I tested this through my surgeries after this one - And the other scars are much finer and better through being supported as they healed, and if I ever did this one again I would definitely support the scar (Or any scar) as it heals so it heals to a fine line without stretching a little like mine has :-)
The tape looks like this - It's cheap and worth ten times the price for a good scar :-)

The best way to determine if and for how much an item will sell is to go on eBay and search an item you have (brand, size,) and look on there. For example, Lane Bryant Jeans 20. You can also search for sold listings and/or completed listings to see if the item actually sold and for how much.
I do this when I am selling stuff and it helps me decide whether to sell or donate. I usually start all my auctions at $2.99 to $4.99 plus buyer pays shipping since that generates more bids. You also have an option to place a "Buy It Now" option for someone that does not want to wait a week for an auction to end. If I use Buy It Now it is usually for higher end and/or new with tags items. Shoes and purses also sell well.
Good luck!! I am listing a bunch of stuff this weekend!!

My highest weight has been 230 lbs, and I am now down to 170. I'm about 30 lbs away from my goal weight, but honestly, I'm pretty happy with where I am right now. Of course I want to get as close to my goal weight as possible, but I am grateful for what I have lost so far. I'm pretty happy with where I am now, but of course would want to lose more! I was at 174 for about 3 months and have just lost the 4 in the past two weeks.

Things that are new or in very good condition sell well on eBay, especially in plus sizes. I have been buying and selling stuff on there for at least 15 years. I recommend using Paypal to receive all the payment which makes it easy. You can then use the Paypal balance (not just on eBay) to buy new pretty clothes...it is almost like exchanging things that are too big for things that are the right size.

I finally cleared my closet of the clothing i can no longer fit but absolutely love and im having some serious FOMO, things i never even wore and never will be able to. I dont know why i feel this way i should be overjoyed but i just want to wear my pretty clothes. Now i will have to give them to my vulture friends that have been eagerly waiting for them since day one. I may be in a bad mood.

I can't really pinpoint mine either. Yesterday at Mother's Day, I ordered a beautiful ribeye fillet which was very lean, no visible fat. No sauce, no dressings. salad on the side, no carbs. All I had was 3 small well chewed bites of my meat and that horrible sweaty, rapid heartbeat feeling washed over me, along with nausea and diarrhoea. I just couldn't tolerate the Protein. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to what will bring it on. Sometimes I think its lactose, maybe fructose, then carbs and now protein! It's very frustrating and a little depressing, especially when you are with company, and who don't know about your surgery. I am about 3 and 1/2 months post VSG and 44 pounds down. Is this going to get any better? Sometimes I think it's getting worse!

I've had the same issue with really rich ice cream. It happens immediately though. No bathroom issues just an absolute terrible feeling with nausea. Passes in about 30 mins. Only kiddie sizes for me now and I'm very cautious.

I feel that way, too. I'm very underwhelmed with my sleeve's restriction at two years out. While heavy, dense foods are definitely restricted, calorie dense, slider like foods aren't. Only lost about 50 lbs of the 150 lbs or so I needed to lose to be at goal weight so I'm considering revision. I agree with your sentiment...if we could have been this conscientious about our diet before, surgery would be unnecessary if it weren't for the metabolic changes it has which greatly improves diabetes for those of us that had it.

I agree, the sleeve is a great tool but it's up to how we use it! It is very hard to fall off the wagon. There always seems to be someone's birthday coming up, a holiday, etc...
That is great that you are at a great weight! I have about 36 more lbs to go before I get my goal. Was your weight loss steady over the past year or did you fluctuate?

Not sure if I should be responding or asking a question. I was sleeved May 2016 ,I attained my goal weight within 6 months postoperative. Now feeling good about myself I feel less restriction and think I can stuff anything in my face. My weight goes up and down within 10 pounds within a week. I am hard headed and will pop 3 stool softeners or laxatives to help "cleanse" myself. I'm a moron I think, not cool to do that daily which I do sometimes for months at a time. Just need some advice I'm a snacker too ,which doesn't help. Thanks for reading
