  1. KAT that is awesome!! LOL Nice to be likened to a hot star! As for USF, we just moved here about 6 months ago, so we still would havemissed each other. But if you are ever back in the area, hit me up!!! We'll go clubbing! I love dancing, and karaoke, and just plain late night drunken fun. LOL Paula, I am with him. Once I lose I will be so proud to shout from the rooftops how much I once weighed. Until then, however, I think I will keep it a bit secret. LOL At least in a public area. Hell my momma doesn't even know. LOL
  2. 1977 ... "Car Wash" by Rose Royce LOL too funny. makes me wanna go out and get a pair of roller skates and go wash the car. WOOHOO!! Somebody find me my shorty shorts and a tight halter top. LOL
  3. Oh, my new boss is full of bad terms and mispronouncing. Her biggest one that got me was when we were talking about not discussing religion or politics etc with customers. She was relating a specific example about a jewish woman ranting in the dressing room about "all you christians" and my boss spoke up and said "now wait mrs. (name) I'm NOMINATIONAL. so don't rant on me about it." Oh and she just kept saying the word. I didn't want to correct her because she is a new boss. But she kept saying it and by the time I got home I was close to pulling out my hair. She is a smart lady, really on top of her game, but this is one of her downfalls. I have heard her say other things that were wrong and they stand out sooo much in my mind. I can only imagine what the customer must have thought!! LOL Wewere going over the guidelines and helpful hints list for wworking there, and there was one line where she read "Be empathetic with your customers." She looked at me and said "This just means you need to watch them closely and be able to tell when someone needs a different size or color." um...no it doesn't. lol but thats ok. I know what it means, and I can do that.
  4. I love the hard moments thread where we have been sharing the painful experiences of being fat. It isnice to grieve, share, and laugh together. It helps us to be stronger in this journey. I would like to hear some of the cool moments. I knowthey arenot asplentiful asthebad moments, but they are there. They can be a collection of NSV's, things your friends, family, or complete strangers have said or done, of accomplishments we have had over skinny little twits... I might have shared this before, I do not remember. But when I went to talk to the woman we are getting our house from I mention the surgery and that I was excited about it. Her mouth just dropped and she stared at me speechless. I laughed and asked her what was wrong. She said she didn't think I was fat enough for a surgery like that. That she thought I was a little larger, but not fat. She said that she was from MN and that she was the thinnest person in her town. I'd say she weighs approx 150 or 160. I laughed, thanked her, and told her I was going to tell everyone that I was not fat cause Holly told me so. I smiled all day. I also was out with some friends about a year ago. We were playing pool at a bar that dh and I used to frequent. DH wason the other side of the bar playing his game, andI was just hanging out with the girls, singing in karaoke and "getting my drink on". LOL There was a table of really cute guys sitting near us, andthey kept looking over and talking about us. No laughing, just making eyes and cheering a lot when one of us would go up to sing. I had been up about 3 times, and it was a few hours since we first saw them. All the girls were cute, skinny and done up that night. They were picking out the ones they liked, and basically fighting over this one REALLY hunky guy. As I was sitting down after my last song two of the guys came up to our table. One of them was the hunk. They walked up, and all the girls went quite. Amanda, one of the girls, said hi and asked for his name. He looked right at me and said "My nameis mark. You are an amazing singer and a gorgeous woman. Can I buy you a drink?" I started laughing cause I thought they were trying to play a prank on me. He lost his smile and said appologized, turned and started to leave. I got up and asked if he was serious, he said yeah, and i accepted the drink. But I explained before he bought it that I was married and pointed out DH. He smiled, said he was a lucky man, and at the end of the evening approached DH and said as much. I smiled for a week!! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
  5. done and done. good luck to hobbs!!!
  6. something else that just kills me are people that mispronounce words nomatter how it is spelled. Example... Espresso vs. Expresso, Washington vs. Warshington, Explain vs. Exprain...etc. I think the expresso gets me the most. do you see and 'x' in that word anywhere??? it just makes me crazy. ok...i'm done now. [/rant]
  7. BBK I am sorry you are struggling. You have done a lot so far. You should be proud of that! I am glad to hear that you are making such a strong stand to quit smoking. you ahould do it for yourself, not just the upcoming surgery. One thing I want tosay, because you have voiced consern about you PS, is that most PS I have talked to have said they would not even touch me until about at least 6 months to a year after I reached goal for any surgery. They do this for a number of reasons. One, if you lose more the surgery could have been better. If you gain weight because you are still unstable then it could be dangerous. And the skin starts shrinking at the 6months to a year mark. Why is your PS so willing to do a TT when you have not even completed your journey, and you haven't given your skin time to adjust? I am not trying to be argumenttive, but if the guy doesn't even know your blood type, and is not thinking of the long term results of this, maybe he is not the best surgeon. I know I am gonna get flack for ssaying this, but truly, it is all said in love. I want to see you successful, just like everyone here. And a TT is another major surgery. Just make sure it is done with as much time and preparation as the band surgery. (((hugs))) I hope this is taken in thelight that it is meant, and I really hope you succeed with the smoking.
  8. yeah, disney is pretty cool about it. I used to work at disney. Good company. but i still have a fear. and i know that i will really enjoy the rides when i am smaller. everything is more enjoyable when you are skinny. here at busch gardens they have a deal that if you buy a one day pass and you are a florida resident then you get a year pass for free. it is a limited time offer they run each year. hopefully next year i can do that and feel comfortable enough to ride the rides. i used to be a serious roller coaster junkie.
  9. i have had the "We don't carry anything in your size" situations at stores. I have seen people's reflection in mirrors or metal as they point and whisper behind my back. One of the most memorable moments was when I draggedDH to a trade show in orlando, and a group of us went to universal for a day. I went to get on a ride (the duddley do right log ride) and i went to get into the seat and realized i couldn't squeeze into it easily. i started to getup and the ride attendant came over andpushed me back into the seat saying "rides starting, you can't getup now" i sat down so hard my fat butt squeezed in the seat. the ride was fun, we got wet, it was ablast. i was really glad i got into the ride. When it came to the end I went to stand up and found i was stuck. the log never really stops moving, so dh had to come over and try to help me while thislog kept moving to the next stage of the ride. finally i pushed up on the sides really hard, whiched loosed me, but tore my pants almost completely off. i ran out of the ride area barely holding the bits of my pants to my body. i found a bench that was sort of hidden from the main path and just sat there and cried. dh cameover and sat with me and he cried as well because ofthe embarassment i had endured. our friends did not even stay. they watched what happened, and disappeared completely. I didn't hear from any of them for about a month. DH went to the gift shops to see if he could find anything for me to wear for the long walk back to the hotel, and it tookhim about anhour. finally he just went back to the hotel and brought back my jeans. I refused to walk to the bathroom (the nearest was quite a distance) and I was already half naked so I just put them on there. DH never spoke about it again until I broughtit up recently. It made him cry just remembering. And this is a guy who doesn't even cry when a family member dies. His embarassment for me was so strong, you can imagine what mine was. I have vowed I am not even going try to ride a roller coaster until I am at least a size 14.
  10. online body odor...as fireman said..that is a real accomplishment.
  11. LivinNY it was a blast!! there were so manypeople ther comparedto the usually one or two! It was great to meet a few new people and get to chat with a few regular friends. We will have to keep that up!! There are usually 3 or 4 of us in there in the evening.
  12. it shoudl. just watch it. the steri strip is really just a strongbandaid. do you have any neosporin or anything like that? squeeze a little of that on the wound, stick a band aid on it, and then call the doc's office in the morning. you can get steristrips from some pharmacies like walgreens orCVS.
  13. it does not log you out unless you actually close the chat connection itself by clicking the little red dot on the upper right hand corner. then you vlose the window. if you just close the window a phantom connection remains. that and pnut prolly just has you on ignore. lol
  14. Already have an account with adam'n'eve. they would shoot me if i took my biz elsewhere lol
  15. Great post jill, and I gotta tell you. There is something very empowering about the ignore list. LOL Just knowing that I can shut out someone not adhering to the rules listed here makes my blood pressure go down lol
  16. holy vibrators batman! I just got a box from them about 4 days ago lol fabulous company. and a great selection. Personally for me my weight really has affected our sex lives, strangely enough. I didn't think so until I first scheduled the surgery and found that my confidence in what my future body would be and my horny shot through the roof! Things had slowed some after the kids, and just the idea of the band spicedthings back up. as for orgasms...thank the lord i never had a problem there!! I am one of those enviable women who seems to go into overdrive and have 7 or 8 O's per encounter. More if we go longer than an hour. I am really trying to figure out how to make sex my daily workout. it is a good workout, but not enough I am thinking.
  17. Talked to Aetna today. I am definitely covered. I just need to get approved. So I really need to know what sort of diet the doctor puts you on to become approved. I know it is a doctor supervised diet. Does that mean they are trying to get you to lose weight for the surgery? Or is it to see if I fail? And what is the diet your doctor put you on?? I want to know because my PCP is going to put me on what they want to see, and we will track it for the next few months. Also, let me know what ever else the aetna people wnat to see. What were your experiences and hoops to jump through? thanks!!
  18. wow!! super cool! what was her experiment??
  19. My happy thought for the day... I get to wear a new pair of shoes today. Not sure which pair. I just bought 4 pair. LOL But I get to wear one of those pair and I am gonna feel so good all day because of it. I love new shoes.
  20. Anytime you are starting a new excersize regimine it will take approx 5 to 6 weeks to really strt seeing major changes. ntil then, it is like everyone has been saying. you are gaining muscle mass, the boddy is holding onto fat because it thinks it needs the extra energy stores for all the new work you are doing. up the cals just a few hundred with maybe a protein shake or two. this will help you to also heal the muscles you are growing. a losing body does need food. Good luck! And keep up that workout! Its sounds like a great one!!
  21. i think als when we weigh ourselves at home we are usually nekkid. getting everything off of us possible. but you can't do that in a doc's office. well, you could, but they might ask you to leave, lol
  22. great job!!! what is you next goal set for?
  23. I just have to say that I m really happy to see that most of the peoplewho said thatthey were leaving are still here or have come back. Even people who left a while ago are returning.
