  1. AWESOME!!! and the happy dance can help you lose weight. just do it for at least 20 minutes a day.
  2. I had a good moment today. i went to the hardware store to get some more packing supplies. i was in my scrubbies, and my hair was up in a bunch of pigtails so that it could be out of my face. i did have makeup on, but not much. I got to the checkout counter and there was an EXTREMELY good looking guy working the register. He asked where I was moving to, and I told him, and he said he lived in the same little town. As there was aa price correction/check going on he flirted with me and then asked me out on a date!!! I just about fell over!! I even askedhim to clarify! "Are you asking me out on a date??" He laughed and said yeah, is that not allowed? I showed him my wedding band, and said that it was so flatering that he asked. He literally slumped when i showed him! I was so amazed. I actually gave him a peck on the cheek for asking, and have vowed to shop there for something at least once a week! LOL Maybe I will get a pic next time and post it. He was SOOOOO hot!!!
  3. sarah i had the same thing happen. she put 250 for me without asking. I laughed and took it back to her and said "this is wrong, I am actually 350" They actually called the manager. The manager said that they had to put what I 'looked' like, not what I really was, and I 'looked' 250, not 350. I left with a smile. I used to body build before I got fat. I was very small, hard, and very muscular. That is all still there under this fat, so I am very dense. LOL I love saying that. I am sure there are a few people here that will chuckle with me, and at me.
  4. hahahaha used to have a little book that had those in it, as well as old southern sayings and wives tales. it was awesome. the south is the creator of some of the funniest sayings, sounds, and spellings.
  5. DH and I used to be against WLS because of RnY. we had never even heard about the lap band. We never discussed it. Then rob started his new job, and met a band girl in his office. He started doing research, and brought the idea to me on our way up to North Carolina for Thanksgiving with the family. We talked the entire 12 hours. We were both so excited! Everytime we were alone for about a month we would talk about it. Wedon't talk as much about it now that we are waiting, but when itis brought up, he is more excited about it thanme most times...and that is saying a lot since I am pretty damned anxious for this surgery!! When we had that rash of divorce posts a few weeks ago I brought up the issue with him. He told me he secretly fears me finding him unwanted when I lose the weight. I asked about his love for me and if he felt it might change when i lose the weight as well. He explained that what he fell in love with was not my body. His appreciation for my body came after his appreciation for the rest of me. My intelligence, experience, personality, love and respect. My body, no matter what its size or shape, was just a bonus part of the package. He loves my body now, I am in proportion and very hourglass (I can make this whale of a body look sexy when I need to LOL) but he knows, as well asI do, that he will love the thin me even more. His honesty in this dicussion is what made me realize that he was 100% behind me, without fail or stumble, and would see me through any complication, down side, flappy boob and tummy skin, and scar stage. I wouldnot do something like this without his support, and it feels so good to know I have it.
  6. 5'4", 340 pounds, size 28-30 or 3x to 4x, bra is 42DDD. I am between a triple D and double D. I used to be a 5x, but have moved to a 4x, and even some of those are big. yay! I am very muscular under all this fat, so i weigh more than i look according to many people. or maybe they are just being nice. who knows. lol
  7. I am totally confused too. Which did you switch from and to?
  8. maybe it is a texas thing! I have never seen it spelled ya'll. Maybe you are joining the words 'ya' and 'all' instead of 'you' and 'all'. In georgia, south carolina, north carolina, tennessee, and florida (the states we have family scattered throughout) it is joining 'you' and 'all' for y'all.
  9. strawarts, that is an interesting article. the only problem is that there are things that happen when you do a liver or colon cleanse that proves what it is doing. When I have done liver and colon cleansing, my skin breaks out as toxins are being removed. for me, my skin is the exit for a lot of the toxins in my body. So for the first few days i breakout. then my skin clears up and has a very healthy glow all over. i have much much more energy, and i do not have a weighed down feeling, or drowsy feeling in my head all the time. my digestion is easier and quicker, and i have a lot less gas. and it takes me for me to get drunk. LOL my pcp, who is a medical doc, not a chiro or natropath, believes that it is good to do a cleanse at least once a year. hedoes believethat toxemia can cause many problems, as well as make it hard to lose weight sometimes. Now this being said...I do not believe those products that make you have "alien shits" and crap more than a bull. I think that is inflated fiber. ButI think some flax seed, a good liquid flush anda regular fiber intake is a good thing to keep you liver and colon healthy. It won't cure cancer, but it will help you feel lighter and stronger.
  10. hey all. My name is Amy and I am from Tampa, Florida. I am 29, married to a wonderful guy, and we have two adorable children. Emily is 4 and Anderson is 3. Rob (dh) and I met...where???...Online!! lol We met when I was still in hs and he was in college. Just friends at that point, but he helped me get away from a guy who was making me fat. Yes...I was the skinny girl in school. And a guy I ran away from home for thought it would be fun to take that away from me. Without getting into details he made me fat from when i was 16 to 18. Then Rob came to my rescue. Who couldn't fall in love with that?? So I have struggled with losing the weight and holding on to past demons. It has been a form of punishment to myself. Which I am not ready to face head on. I have the money saved up to have the surgery in Mexico, but am going to go through the steps to see if insurance will approve me first. If they do that money will go towards buying dh an old BMW for him to restore. It is what he gave up as a gift to me to have the surgery this christmas. My highest weight was 372, and now I am somewhere around 340. It fluctuates between 340 and 335, and the scale at the house here only shows as high as 335. So until I am under that I have no idea how my progress is. Oh yeah, and Pnut and I are twins seperated at birth and a few years. Some strange coincedences there that have made us loser buddies. If I get nothing more from this site than my friendship with her, the time spent here will be considered time well spent. H - 372, C - 340, G - 120
  11. oh yay!!! that is awesome!! I want that too!
  12. here in the southeast we spell it y'all. i think the proper english rule would have it y'all as well since the apostrophe is in place of the missing letters. you all minus the ou and a space, and join the y and all with an apostrophe. but thats if we want to get really technical. lol
  13. Jon that was so beautifullyl said!! thank you. And it is all y'all.
  14. oh fabric softner is a secret weapon in our house. i have a spritz bottle that i fill with water, and a spoonful of fabric softner. it takes wrinkles out of hanging items, like curtains, or a light blouse. it is also great on the carpet and couch and other upholstered items o make the house smell fresh. i also put sheets of fabric softner between stacks of towels that maybe are not used that often. same for bed linens and clothes that are put away for the season. It keeps them smelling fresh, andnot needing that wash when they are pulled out again. Also, sheets of fabric softner are great to help frizz in your hair. Lightly run it over your hair after blowdrying. It takes the static out, and calms the fizz a bit. also good to wipe on tv screens and computer screens and anywhere else that gets really dusty from static.
  15. i was told that you could not do a pill form of body cleanse with the band due to the inflation of certain fibers in the pills and that it might stretch out the pouch, and that you can not get enough water quick enough to keep you from choking. Just telling you what the nurse at the local bariatric clinic told me. I just did a body cleanse kit (pre band) and it did nothing. I feel ripped off honestly. but I also want to do a fast and a body cleanse. jack...sending you a pm on that info. lol sounds like something i need to do. body cleansing is such a smart thing to do on a regular basis. most of us eat junk, even when we are trying to eat right. there are so many toxic things we put into our bodies. and a buildup of those things can actually slow or even stall weight loss. it is so important to do a liver and colon cleansing at least once a year.
  16. oh, for streaks on glass when using windex...use newspaper. trust me. takes care of the streaks.
  17. oh, after cleaning the stainless steel sink you can also rub it with wax paper. it helps to keep the waterspots and stains from setting in. it also will shine ita bit, a more natural looking shine, without the buildup from oil.
  18. Clothes do make a huge difference!!I had been wearing 5x. I went to work at Nordstrom, and my boss took me aside and said that I was not wearing the proper fit. She got me into some 4x and 3x clothes, and even DH said it looked like I had lost a ton of weight. Now I preach it to my customers. I work in Encore, so fit is key to making us look as good as possible. Sure we have more things to hide, but hiding does not need to mean wearing a tarp. We really have to try to camoflage thebad, and accentuate the good.
  19. to brighten up those walls and baseboards and any other surface that you are not replacing or repainting.... get yourself a magic eraser!!! I SWEAR by them now. They are also great to remove any pet smell if you have a cat. scrub the floor and wall by the litter box and you would never know you had a cat.
  20. open yourself up Kim. No reason to deny yourself the spoils of this war with fat. You are working really hard, and to nottakein, accept, enjoy, and respond to those cheers from your friendsand family and coworkers then you aremissing the greatest part of losing weight! Andall that praise will help you to continue to work hard on getting to goal. I challenge you to to tell him that you just realized thathe was serious, and thank him sincerely.
  21. ohi love dethaw. that is a new one to me. and 'axe' vs 'asked' is a big petpeeve of mine too. this is a bit anal... but the correct usage of 'y'all' gets me too. y'all - singular all y'all - plural y'all's - possesive singular all y'all's - possesive plural jeez people!! get it right!!! ok...just kidding, but my MIL is serious about it. she gets upset when people use it all wrong.
  22. wow!! from a 14 to a 10?!!? that is great! what an amazing transformation! I love pictures like this. it makes me wonder what I will look like when I am at goal and done with the total body lift. I keep wondering if I will be back to my original size and hottness lol
