  1. Did you see? The new fall scents are in! LOL. Literally laughing my ass off! https://www.poopourri.com/collections/fall?utm_source=optimove&utm_medium=email+&utm_campaign=Fall_AF
  2. @Sheribear68 Ouch! So sorry to hear about your friend!!! ((hugs)) TG you are escaping that fate with every day of your lifestyle change!!! I know how you feel and can relate! And for anyone who is genuinely interested in hearing my journey and not just a rubbernecker, I will discuss the specifics. But for anyone else who looks at me, there is no doubt that I'm somewhat fanatical religious about making good choices--cuz like you, we have some big strikes we deal with. But sadly, no one likes reformed smokers or reformed alcoholics. So we do just have to live our lives. And sometimes the best testimony is through action rather than words. Live your life hon. Let your friends feel safe, coming to you when or if they are ready. ((hugs))
  3. My highest ever known weight was 325lbs. Over the past 20 years, I lost from 325 down to 218lbs during breast cancers treatment and post bc. But i started regaining at an alarming rate and my onc was very concerned the cancer would return. It took 2 years to convince me of the medical need for this surgical intervention. I'd regained back up to 287lbs. I could always lose weight (although slowly), but keeping it off has been a clear challenge. So I lost from 287lbs down to 222 morning of surgery. Today I'm maintaining at 135lbs. I made goal in 9 months (150lbs). It is very very possible to do this thing. It may not be the "average". I won't lie. I'm an outlier and extremely focused. I've gone hungry a lot -- and still go hungry. But that's ok. I refuse to let food/hunger dictate when or how much I eat or how well-behaved I am with food. This body feels fabulous and I intend to take care of it! I know you can do this too. I'm nothin' unusual--just focused on treating my head while maximizing the mileage I get from my tool.
  4. They completely extinguish when I crave Lay's or Pringles, and also take care of my tortilla chip fixes.

@Cheeseburgh OMG! I can't stand it I love it so much!

So eloquent and well-said! Ditto for everything @Sheribear68 said!!! I mean there are only so many times our fam wants to answer the standard question: Do these jeans make my ass look fat!? Thanks for being such a great group of babes!!! (And dudes!)
  7. This is very important to contact your surgeon. You need a CT scan when it's happening with contrast. Cuz you are likely having either a volvulus and have an internal hernia where the bowel is getting temporarily twisted and then untwisting. Or you may have a intercusseption (sp? Sorry don't know how to spell this). Or you could just be full of poop and need a great big dump. Or it could be gall bladder problems, or an ulcer, etc. Any way, you need diagnostics beyond an xray.
  8. Too many carbs for me. I love my Premier shakes, but I do confess that I never drink them straight. In coffees and teas they are just perfect amounts of sweetness without having 4 or 5 added carbs on top what they already have. Glad you found something you like!
  9. Also, it depends on what their definition of normal is. You can still be symptomatic but within normal limits of your labs. Some cases of that are: low ferritin and low iron/hemoglobin, low Vitamin D3, low B vitamins (these are the energy vitamins) so a low B1 and low B6 are very normal. And they can still be in normal limits and you'll feel like doo-doo. Also thyroid is notorious for causing symptoms while being within normal limits. A normal TSH is at or around a 1. And normal FREE T3 and FREE T4 are at around 3/4 in the upper normal range. If they fall below that, then it's low and you will likely feel it. Sorry you are going through this. I would also encourage upping the fat, dropping the carbs, and making sure you are getting plenty of quality proteins. Even organ meat proteins like heart and liver! Also CoQ10 can help with energy. Congrats with your losses!!! Outstanding maintenance!
  10. Nope but it looks good! I don't do sardines in oil--too many cals/too much fat in a meal for me. So I stick to my sardines in spring water at 150cals per can. You can go to My Fitness Pal and plug the entire meal in and save it as a meal. Put in the title how many servings it gives you. Then you can select the meal next time and put the fraction that you eat. For instance: 4 Servings = .25 meal 3 Servings = .33 meal 2 Servings = .5 meal 1 Serving = 1 meal
  11. Yes. For me it's a "too many carbohydrates" in a meal. But it can also be "too many fats" in a meal.
  12. Good to know in a pinch!! But you could also just get iced decaff black coffee there and pour in your own Premier Protein shake that you carry with you!
  13. Thanks!! I will look at Vitacost and see what they have in MK-7 100mcg! I get confused by the MK-4 and MK-7 stuff!!!
  14. Yep. Norms. And varying the temp is so important! I still have better results sipping room temp water and warm liquids than I do cold. I can tolerate cold now, but it does make me feel "jammed up."
  15. Yep. Go back to liquids or mushies for a couple of days until it passes. It's swollen and inflamed most likely.
  16. Catwoman, would you mind sharing which type of K2 and dosage please? I have been wanting to add this in so that I'm more assured the calcium is going to my bones rather than my heart and arteries! But I just know so little about it.
  17. My understanding is that there is never an "end" when we won't need vitamins post op. I'm 18months out from RNY. I take: 2 Celebrate Multi-Capsules 6 Celebrate Calcium Citrate (1500mg) 500mg B12 50mg B-Complex (low B6 and B1) 35mg Bifera Iron (HIP & PIC) every other day 2000mg D3 400mg Magcitrate 17g Clearlax 10g Psyllium husks 250mg Colace 40mg Omeprazole
  18. Use My Fitness Pal and after you populate it, it's so easy! Also, order a food scale that reads in grams. Then weigh and measure everything going into your body! And don't eat packaged stuff! LOL. Eat lean protein and eat veggies and some healthy fats. Eat a serving of dark berries now and then. Order protein powder on Amazon, or see if Premier Protein shakes are available in Europe. Beyond that--stay away from C.R.A.P.
