  1. I'd be bored too. Why are you so limited? Add fish, ground turkey, chicken, seafood of all kinds, canned tuna, chicken and salmon to make salads out of using hardboiled egg, cottage cheese, greek yogurt (plain) and spices with some mustard and dill relish. Lunch meats, veggies of all kinds. Some small amounts of nuts. Some avocado and olives for healthy fats.
  2. Congrats!!! WTG And in such a short time! Imagine what next year is gonna feel and look like! Such great work!!
  3. search for "what I eat in a day and your type of surgery" on youtube. As Tracy said, there are tons of vids on your surgery type.
  4. In a muffin tin on the stove top?

I so agree! So sorry not to comment on each person's SOOO CUTE outfits and how fine they look!!! Pinterest helped me decide how I wanted to reinvent myself. Only thing is my fat brain won't let me buy super tight things very easily...so my look is still too baggy.
  7. I wasn't given a goal either. She only wanted me to worry about protein and the goal was and is 60-80g although she's now backed that down to a range of 50-75g. Here's a glimpse of my MFP goals I set at Stage 3: The top is what I actually got. Also, MFP adds in exercise macros. And I never try to eat that back cuz it's doesn't help my weight loss/maintenance any. So my goal for the day at that time was set at 600cals. Here's where I set my goals to: I was very hyperinsulinemic, so I kept carbs low and limited to most coming from veggies and sometimes a bit of berries. The focus was and is on protein. And I had to keep fats low cuz I would get nauseated from too much fat in the meal--especially early out.
  8. What are your symptoms after eating meat? The salmon is probably too high fat for you right now and sits heavy, making you queasy. That used to happen to me, although now, I do just fine with it. Try a white fleshed fish like basa/pangasius/swai (all the same fish)--it's very delicate and mild.
  9. ((Hugs)) You aren’t alone!! Come here often and read and post! Get support! Give support and be strengthened by it. When you’re tempted come post!!! Quit testing cuz that’s not really what you are doing-that’s just the label you put on it to feel better. You can’t game the process. Trust me on that. This is hard. So hard. But if you work it and use the time wisely it will also be the best time, the transformative time, and a time of huge growth and healing! Welcome to the boards. This is a great group of amazingly successful and helpful friends! You WILL figure this ou as you go. For me doing the head work was the hardest part!
  10. Yep. What everyone else said. Volume is KING. Through every phase it's very important to follow their volume instructions for your stage. Stage 1 & 2 is usually 1/8-1/4c. Usually calories (liquids) take caree of themselves. If you are getting in your 48-60g of protein at that point from liquids, it is usually about 300-500 cals. As you progress, you will be at 60-80g of protein and Stage 3 & 4 will look more like 1/4c-1cup max. Anything you eat needs to fit within your cup. So if you eat 1-2oz of dense protein by weight, it goes into your measuring cup for your appropriate volume limit for the meal. 1-2oz of protein can take up as much space as 1/2cup of volume.
  11. Soft scrambled eggs with cottage cheese and cheddar with taco bell mild sauce. In retrospect I should have held off on the cheese cuz it caused me terrible issues afterward.
  12. Oh mah gosh!!! Congrats!! You look amazing. What a transformation!! Great job girlie. You're beautiful!!!
  13. So you are at least eating softer foods. But the preparation is not so great. Fried is fried. And will add tons of calories from bad fats. 11 days doing this is not good. I'm just gonna tough love this for you. FOLLOW your doc's plan for you and don't advance your diet. Liquid phases SUCK GIGANTIC GREEN ONES! But truth? Suckitupbuttercup. We ALL had to do it. You get through it. You do not have to LIKE your protein drinks. You simply HAVE to do it. Sadly, the first 2 weeks are when most of us feel the least like eating--so consequently we eat very little and eat only protein. And so we are 2 weeks into breaking a bad food habit. Most of us had 2 weeks liquids up front so 2+2=4weeks out. Supposedly it takes 3 weeks to build a new habit. And now that you are having your shenanigans, you are starting your brain and behaviors back at ground zero. My advice? If you can't be compliant at 11 days, you need to get to your RD, your surgeon, and a psych. Cuz you need counseling to work through the head work. The first 2 months is when we lose the most amount of our weight. Don't squander this opportunity to change your life and heal you legs and self image--heal your blood pressure. Write out an index card with your WHY on it and post it on your fridge and mirror. WHY did you have this surgery?!! WHY! Keep a focus on that. Make good and healthy food choices. Get your protein in according to your doc's phase.
  14. Oh I’m totally on it! ?Lemme know how the rings work out!!! I saw those but was skeptical!!
  15. Holy crap!!! (runs off to place an Amazon order, stat...)
  16. Yeah, I don't think everyone did... Typically (or in many) of this type of thread question, the discussion gets very spirited with people either defending or asserting their position or right not to have to be the food police for the rest of their born days. Sometimes fireworks spontaneously errupt. hehe. And I was trying not to insert my particular obsession love of weighing and measuring to the nth degree on the poor newbie OP--so I was gonna recuse myself from answering seriously. LOL! bahahaha.
  17. I'm a sucker for these things! https://www.amazon.com/Portmeirion-Sophie-Conran-White-Measuring/dp/B004O2K7GW/ref=sr_1_11?gclid=CjwKCAjwkqPrBRA3EiwAKdtwkztgciP5GRnlewLlwajzrZtkqaI-tQtwOnV532RPcZrb8K89gOWNNBoCEQIQAvD_BwE&hvadid=323112042713&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9027716&hvnetw=g&hvpos=1t1&hvqmt=b&hvrand=7652504210567318980&hvtargid=kwd-813743368512&hydadcr=28577_10704731&keywords=ceramic+measuring+cups+stackable&qid=1567197868&s=gateway&sr=8-11
  18. Thanks for all you do, Alex!
  19. My reply was not meant in any other way but fun. It's actually my favorite question here and we always get SO many different viewpoints! Especially from those who do not weigh or measure and those (like me) who obsessively plan, weigh and measure! Apologies OP. I did not mean this to discourage you! I should have typed this out in my first response. (Disclaimer: I am an outlier!) I actually still plan, weigh AND measure every bite of food that goes in my mouth (unless I'm out at a restaurant. When I'm at a restaurant I use my hand to estimate serving sizes and pack away my extra food immediately). I use (d) the size of measuring cup appropriate for my stage and place it on the scale. Then I place each item I'm eating into the cup, starting with protein at the bottom and weigh that in grams. I eat 2-4oz of lean dense protein per meal by weight (that makes about 3/8-3/4 cup of volume just from the protein) and at 18 months I have a 1 cup forever diet maximum per meal--supposedly. I try my best to observe that Maximum limit so I don't fork over my surgery. Then I tare the scale before each new addition so I know exactly how much and of what I'm eating and I also know that I have satisfied my protein goal for the day. I eat mostly protein + veg + healthy fats at each meal. So it's pretty easy. I do eat more than 1 cup per meal when I eat salad cuz it scrunches down into a lot of water when well-chewed. Hope that helps!
  20. Can't wait to hear the replies to this one!
  21. Congrats on the coming surgery! So exciting!
