  2. bahahahaaha! I wasn't even talking about the oh so gorgeous and healthy selection! BAHAHAHAHA! I was speaking to the fact that you actually had a clean plate and we didn't have to play the NYT Who Moved My Cheese puzzle! Nice lookin' cookies!
  3. I try really hard (especially in losing mode) not to "plan" or "schedule" for cheats. It makes it that much easier to have one...like I've already given myself permission or something so then I get to bypass the rationalization and reasoning phase. Right? LOL. But like @Healthy_life2 said, it's important to know your capacity for pain and/or deprivation. Ideally you want to limit the hedonic pleasure center. When you give yourself high reward, high value meals, it causes your brain to defend a higher set point, making weight loss slow to a creeping crawl. Frustrating and tough to be compliant with slow weight loss. So I would go for painful abrupt deprivation and get the weight back off, then try to ease into a maintenance plan that does include a few limited indulgences that are well planned and can be incorporated into your daily macros for maintenance. But that's just me. I figure I can bear pain as long as I know there is an end. If I add extra treat calories now, I guarantee the compliance will be worse, the losses slower and I will get diet fatigue before ever seeing my goal or finish line. So it's a tough call. Right? Now, YOU are the mommy and the boss of cheese and ketchup. So why can't you clean out the house/pantry? Why not ONLY keep the natural healthy things around? Make it tough for the kids or hubs or you to eat crap!? Would/could that work? If not, I will be back with snack suggestions that you can make yourself rather than buy and it shouldn't totes kill your diet plan. But for now...you have to remember your WHY. WHY did you have the surgery? WHY did you endure the deprivation to lose all your weight? WHY aren't you loving yourself enough to self-discipline your food choices? These are the tough parts of headwork we all have to entertain. ((hugs))
  4. Ok, who are you and what have you done with our Kitty?
  5. Volume is king. In the early days when you are only eating an ounce or two at a time, then you fill that meal volume with lean dense protein only. It gives the most satiety for the least carbs and fat. Then later as you progress and you are able to eat more like 1 cup of food, you can fill your cup with 3oz of protein per meal and have a little room left over for veg and a bit of fat. And pretty much, during the losing phase, if you do that--you will lose all the weight you need to lose very swiftly. Later on you can stress about adding carbs to your life. Carbs (other than veg) are added to a meal at the very very last. And if it were me and it is...lol. I add veggie carbs first, then nut/avocado/olive carbs next, then berry and yogurt carbs next. There is rarely any room for shenanigan carbs. And I keep chips and crackers far far away cuz they are my crack. You daily protein goal for a woman is somewhere between 60-80g per day depending on many factors. That's non-negotiable. The 3-4 non-negotiables are: Fluids Vitamins Daily Protein Goals Exercise (ie walking)
  6. What is your concern about them? You are losing really great! Congrats!!
  7. I'd weigh everyday... It's hard with crap in the house.
  8. I know...it's not even an option. I HAVE to build strength and muscle. It is a non-negotiable part of all of this or else I will end up struggling so hard in maintenance. Thanks for inspiring and encouraging!
  9. Ok, I just got to get serious about resistance training. *big gulp* (hate it so much==but I wanna get smaller everywhere dammit)
  10. DONE! I swear, that's who I thought it was. And I was stumped like dayum, why does she look tight as crap at 137 but looks like she has a tiny bit of bloated tummy at 123? I was scratching my head tryin to find my way out of a paper bag! ROFLMFAO!!! Good job!
  11. Gosh! You look amazing! Congrats on 5 years of maintenance and for changing your life! You're so smart to nip this in the bud at 10lbs. Ten lbs is so do-able! I totally get the fear of regaining it all and failing weight loss! It's a real risk for the rest of our lives. But I do have to believe that we are not doomed to regain. In almost every case of regain we see, there is a reasonable explanation for the regain--with a rather simple solution. Usually it's a result of us backsliding into old habits, old food preferences, life stress, emotional coping tools using food, depression, change in exercise quantity/intensity, differences in total daily activity...etc. @Healthy_life2 gave you very awesome advice. It really works. I've seen so many vets come back with regain who subsequently lose it by going back to their forever diet following WLS and following the tenets of their docs. The tools still work, we just have to remember that the program works and we have to work the program and help our tool! Hope you will stick around and post with us. This is a very informative, helpful, and fun place to hang out!!! Your journey will help a lot of us as we watch you take your control back.
  12. Had surgery at 9am and was out by noon the next day. No complications from my RNY. I'm in the US, so think it's a max of 2 nights assuming no comps.
  13. Oh wow! Can't wait to hear what the first reading is!!! And now running to read about the Dexa and implants. ?
  14. What's so funny about tracking and logging everything, is that people who don't do it, imbue the action as onerous and painstaking and grueling. In reality, because I've populated my frequent foods, favorites, personal foods, and recipes in MFP, it takes about 5 minutes per day to see what the game plan is for getting my protein in. And it's a very reassuring and comforting feeling that actually frees me up from having to think of food all day. If I know, for instance, that it's Tuesday, and that means I'm gonna try to do an 18:6, then I know: 1> Afternoon snack is gonna be a big ass smoothie with 30g of protein in it and some veg and fiber. The end. 2> Dinner will be flank steak tacos made with my psylli wraps with avocado and tomatoes. 3> Bedtime snack (if eaten) will be a sf popsicle. For me, that's not boring, or grueling. It just simply "is". You know? And the payout is that I know and can predict how my body will react to those nutrients and values.
  15. Well I'm properly shamed and schooled. Thanks. Now I'll know how to go on with my life. And no worries, you've just become the first person I've blocked. LOL.
  16. Count them and don’t do the 30/30 unless your doc or RD specifically told you that you couldn’t count them or that u had to apply the 30/30 rule! ((Hugs))
  17. Ok so they should tell you protein shakes, broth, sf jello, sf popsicles, and ice ALL count toward your liquid goal and you don’t have to do the 30/30 think. Cuz it’s all liquid!! ((Hugs!!))
  18. Excellent article!! Thanks for sharing that. LOL on never having @ms.sss six pack abs. I know!!! *wailing* But we can dream right? LOL Specially since plastics will only be happenin in my dreams. *le sigh* So I will just have to be envious and yet happy for these ladies who have all worked their keester off!!! I am maintaining though...that is a good point. I don't feel like I'm being overly restrictive. I have way more monkey bizness meals/days now--especially on weekends. But then on weekdays, I'm back to beeswax. Yeah I hear ya, it could be all of those things, especially constipation/bloat! And BTW!!! You look as fanfreakintastic as @ms.sss!!! Totally gorgeous with an enviable figure!
