I was dx'd with adrenal hyperplasia too. I didn't take the decadron either. I knew that way was death for me. So I went without and it was pretty hellish. Pre-surgery, I had to be down <800cals to lose. Post surgery the same. The difference is that the surgery helped my body defend a lower weight without feeling like I was starving all the time on 600-800 cals per day. So I was finally able to lose. I do understand your difficulties. We're both outliers. Thankfully, there are others who have different experiences with protein and their post op diets!!!

Thank you! I feel much better about it now! I don't know why I was obsessed with wanting to wear this cardigan! LOL. I think I was channelling my inner @sillykitty with the animal print, but I know my tshirts are limited. They are all too big right now. (Great problem to have I know... ha)!

Stricture Issues
Yes agree with @Darktowerdream! Try switching things up! Vary the temp of your water, try ice chips and popsicles. See if you can get liquids to stay down. Vary the thickness of your protein drinks, the type of protein, the temperature. I love thinning them down with decaff coffee or tea. To this day, room temp or warm liquids go down much easier and quicker for me than cold ones. You def have an ER trip if you can't get the clear liquids to stay down.

I changed the belt and added a necklace and bracelets. I wish I had a lower neckline tshirt or a turtleneck. I think it's better? I don't, need to spend quality time with Amazon. But I think adding the accessories helped detract from the stark difference in the neckline. Right?

Daily Menus for Maintenance
Exactly!!! I got tired of my measuring cups being in the dishwasher when I really needed em, and was sick of hand washing. So these are quick to rinse and wipe down with a soapy rag and done baby!! Plus, once I save a meal with it, I don't have to use em again, cuz I know what weight of each thing fit. So no more measuring by volume for a basic chopped salad with those ingredients. Just plop a plate or bowl on the scale and weigh it and tare like a mofo.

Problem digesting meat?
Yeah, as @lvidacovich said, the only time I had issues with meat was when it was too fatty. Sorry you're dealing with that.

- restriction
We're all so different. Each of us has our own unique experience with restriction. I never really felt restricted from liquids until I started "water loading" about 6 months out from surgery. Then I finally felt fullness from drinking quickly. If I sip though, it goes right through without registering that I'm full. Doesn't matter if it's water, or protein drinks, or cream soups.- Post op healing - How long till I can return to work?
I have a desk job. I was back at it within 4 days if I remember correctly.- Weight-loss funnies

Yay girlie!! Sounds like a plan! I had wanted to drop sub 130lbs before Fatsgiving next week, but it is beginning to look like that is never gonna happen lol. Which is fine too. Either way. I just want to be sure I'm not up at the top of my weight window of 135lbs. So we'll see. I am pretty sure you will make your goal! Yesterday went very well. It's so interesting how quickly it is to ease in and out of IF. I'm doing another back to back one today and will have a regular day tomorrow. Cuz the schedule works out better for me this way.- Post diet question

Gosh I hear you!! For years they thought I had Cushing's Syndrome cuz my cortisol and DHEA numbers were so bad. Turns out, that I just had very severe PCOS which eventually led to MO and breast cancer (not that I also didn't contribute to my own demise with eating poorly and willfully at times). But to lose weight even with surgery, it's been very very difficult. Before surgery it was even harder. So I get having to keep cals and protein low! At 5'0" your "ideal weight" as defined by the archaic insurance charts is 100lbs. So in kilograms you are 45.5 kg at "due weight" or ideal weight. From there you calculate age, metabolic health, activity etc. So I figure with my metabolism that it's best to be closer to my 0.8g per kg range than on the high end. You would be around 36g for the day which seems way too low. So I would shoot between 50-60g of protein per day.- Daily Menus for Maintenance
Hey, playin around with my new toy (portion mate rings from BP store) = seriously heart these things. I made a salad with them today. Plopped them on a bread plate and weighed salad into it. I thought I had the 1/2c ring but accidentally used the 3/4cup ring. I firmly packed the romaine into it and then just cut the other veggies into it, so all total the salad measures about 1 1/2 cups in volume which is about what I eat for a salad serving, give or take. And here's what fit into: Basic Chopped Salad: (1 1/2cups volume=2oz by weight) 3/4c Romaine (28g) 3/4c Mixed Veggies (40g cucumber, 14g cabbage shredded, 14g purple onion) Totals: 19 calories; 0g protein; 0g fat; 4g carbs; 1g fiber; 3g net carbs. I saved this in MFP as a meal for: chopped salad, basic (1s=1 1/2c vol) 3/4c romaine + 3/4c veg)(rom, cabb, po, cuc). Here's the meal with 1/2c volume tuna salad (112g). I accidentally made it too soupy, so more sliderish, but I will mix it up with the salad like a dressing. Will be interesting to see how much I eat. It's another magical meal with the cals. Meal Totals: 114 calories; 14g protein; 3g fat; 8g carbs; 1g fiber; 7g net carbs.- Protein Amount

So when I was in WLM, I tried not to do stuff like this. Cuz I was trying to retrain my brain from seeking pleasure and satisfaction in analogues that could make me slip out of healthy eating mode. And so I didn't use these types of snacky types of foods very often. Once in a while I would treat myself to Quest protein chips (which I do like)... But I'm a snacky kinda girl. So these can be preferential triggers for me. Now that I'm in maintenance, I do allow these as part of a meal. I only eat 10g at a time, which is about 1/8cup. And they get eaten after everything else if there are cals/macros available. No way would I sit down and eat out of the jar. They'd be gone too quickly. But eating them in 10g portions, the $24.99 isn't such a bad price. I think I figured I would get 50 servings from the jar that way. It was the way I allowed myself to cheat rationalize eating these delicious bits of nonsense--since they don't/won't fill you up.- Twin Peaks Protein Puffs
I heart these things to the moon and back!!! Seriously! Got the garlic parmesan ones. So delish. Now I'm gonna go for the nacho flavored!!! - restriction
