  1. I feel like an idiot am nearly 46 and cannot ride a bicycle,never riden one. I have seen the bike shop with an adult one outside,but you tend to see only mentally disadvantage people on them. I am so tempted to get one though,but think I live in a major city, and we have to wear helmets whilst riding and then I would look real silly. Got to look into body combat classes or something else I suppose, just envious reading about all the bicyle bits on here.
  2. I am having 1 or 2 30gr packets of mixed nuts per day -walnuts,cashews,almonds,200 calories per 30 gram serve. Anyone else snacking on nuts as was told to steer clear of them on other weight loss programs. and are they classed as protein??
  3. I have been sick a few times with sushi, thought i ate to fast but surgeon said no if the green bit not fresh fresh --- bad bad news.
  4. My friends - 4 who have had lapbands over 4 years now ,and the surgeon also said you need to go back yearly, and then may or may not need a fill.
  5. My port is getting more and more visable, i posted question on here few weeks back to see if others have the same problem,apparently can be swapped to a low profile port later if necessary. Mine sticks up and actually protrudes if i lie down and go to roll over. started at 204lbs, now 137lbs.Am five foot four.
  6. Dave you going real well with your losing, my lap band was 18 sep2007, lost 67lb so far, have had 4 fills so far,go to the surgeon 28thmay to see if need another fill -- if so will be fill number 5.

I have lost 67lbs since 18 sep 2007, i found when not eating enough was not losing. i do 30minute to 40 minute walk every second day try for everyday, but normally every second or third at moment. What i have eaten so far today ,and not at dinner time yet: medium bowl cereal and low fat milk,small bannana,quarter of a large rockmellon, small packet of nuts,skinny cappacino, pea and ham soup medium bowl, and 10 rice crackers - the small ones.3 prunes.
  8. That was one of my first questions to the surgeon after op -- i like light mars bars, he said it is a calorie thing, dont waste calories on sweets - cakes, alcohol etc. You can lose faster with less calories and sugar foods are high calorie.

  10. I noticed when i am stressed i pb, don't know if when i am stressed maybe unconsiously eat faster, or maybe my band gets tighter.
  11. Thank you for your info, I went to doctor today have bad cold at the moment and she ref me to a female dietician who specialises in lap banding. I normally work from 10am on sundays, but when i get my holidays - hopefully soon will email you for further details on the group.thanx so much.
  12. I got my band sep2007 have had 4 fills, only time i slime is when being sick as in vomitting - and that only happens if i ate to fast, maybe discuss with your doctor could be that you to tight or eating to fast.
  13. I get the burning but only when i take vitamin tablets,i take the tablets with food,still burning but not so bad, the doctor said it was acid in my case.
  14. I didn't know that its not so bad then as dn't eat rice or wheat much,hehe.
  15. Are most of you taking childrens chewable vitamins so you dont get the burning reflux sensation from the vitamins??
  16. I have been taking zoloft, and it is working like an appetite suppresent on me.

I make certain i chew everything well, the only time i have had problems when out was with sandwiches - half a sandwich german rye with chicken and salad or tuna and salad, when i have half sandwich at home no problems think it is a stress thing,or maybe eat too fast and try to fit it into my lunch break.
  18. Yep they are so yummy and not bad as vegies, but of course our choices are the starchiest, but hey we cutting alot of the other crap out or really really limiting now.Sorminah you in the same boat as me.

  20. Yep,i am in Australia, Perth, so will go to Myers to get sized and then can checkout target,kmart and bras and things.
  21. I decided next week going to get my sports bras but will go get measured as i think changed cup sizes i use to be a d or dd, now maybe b??
  22. Yes will decrease my yummy starches if finding not losing enough weight, i cannot tolerate potatoe skins at moment, never had problem before.
  23. You should ask the surgeon what is causing it, and what you can do.

Yes been trying to do it on own basically as too what to eat,the dietician i wen't too basically was giving me advice on what normally people should be eating all the breads and all but did not take into account my lap band, my surgeon says i don't need any thing special just eat less of everything, avoid the dairy, my body will tell me what not right for me. Will have a good talk to my gp again and explain my concerns as want to know i am doing the right things, will tell her what i have heard about mercy hospital lap band followup info and see what she can do for me.
