TMI - Embarassing questions

Hello Shamrocks!

I keep meaning to start this thread, then forget about it when I am online. I figured it would be nice to have a thread that is for all our embarssing questions and/or comments. Funny part is that right now I don't have one, but I wanted to start the thread before I forgot.

What is the best thing to say to a new partner who you dont want to know you had the lap band as yet when he sees abump and it stands up at times???(thats the lap band port by the way).;)

You could tell him/her its a tumor - but that's not sexy at all... :tt2:

hee hee the tumor one sounds funny. was thinking scar tissue from hernia op??

Is it just me or does anyone else burp alot?? Drives me nuts because it happens at the worst times.

Burping a lot here too. It really does bother me. I am hoping that as time goes by and my body gets used to this new way of eating it will get better.

If I am with a new partner for the first time and he is noticing the port bump, I am doing something very very wrong................

I have been banded for 16 months and the burping doesn't seem to go away. I am not sure why, but I know a lot of banded people who have had their bands a lot longer than me, and they say it never goes away.

The band must trap air somewhere in there.

GREEEEAT!! Have you ever burped over a microphone.....at a conference.....in front of your superiors???? Not cool!!!:w00t:

It was just a little one but it was mega magnified!! Job hunting Monday:redface:

My daughter keeps telling me I need to learn to burp with my mouth shut.

Even with my mouth shut, sometimes they are very loud. It IS embarrassing. It's not very lady like, that's for sure.

I get a lot of hiccups and they hurt! I used to get them when I was a teenager, but not so much recently, until I was banded!

I have to say that I LOVE my new burping skills! Sometimes I can lean forward and emit a low, gurgling growl that lasts five or six seconds. It's hugely satisfying!

I couldn't burp and the air got trapped inside, it was excrutiatingly painfull... be very glad you can and do burp, in fact I encourage it as often as possible. The other alternative is an NG tube and two days in the hospital. That's just my experience. Thankfully, there is medicine that will help you burp, so I'm hoping all is going to be fine now. I however, received my first fill last Thursday and was very worried that the problem would come back. No problems so far, but there is a pressure there that doesn't seem to go away. It's not painful (as of now) but it still worries me.

BURP AWAY and smile sheepishly if anyone says anything.:smile2:
