When you enjoyed shopping for a dress for a relative's wedding....and at that wedding people you haven't seen in a while flip out over how good you look

Also when you run into your ex-husband who you haven't seen in a year and he stammers and says you look amazing

The first one is today and the other one was me at about 125 pounds heavier. My surgery is Monday and I am officially 150 lighter than I was when I started my journey on Oct 10th. That's when I decided to do this and went on the low carb, low fat, high Protein diet.

I don't know if this is necessarily the place to post this, but I just got married!!!! This woman has been by my side through the last 2 and a half years in this journey. She met me when I weighed over 600 pounds. I am now back down to my playing weight for football in college, but I am much healthier and and in better shape than I was then. I still have a lot of work to get under 3 bills, but I am extremely happy to head down this new path in life.

I'm on day two and it is much better than yesterday. I was very disoriented and in pain when I woke up. What a difference a day makes! I'm onto sips of Water and clear fluids.

I had my sleeve done yesterday, May 8th. I had already shared my fears and concern 2 days prior as well. I am now awaiting my shuttle to head back to my hotel as we speak. So far I am having very, very little complications. The only issue I had was gas/CO2 level pains. But nothing that is intolerable. My experience, so far has been wonderful. My advice to you all is to remember why you were compelled to have the surgery in the first place. It is different for everyone of course. You have all come this far, and I believe probably the worst of it is over. I feel the worst part so far was the liquid diet prior to surgery. And most of you have already completed most of this part by now. For 24 hours after surgery all you can have is ice and Water. But what is so crazy is that at almost 24 hours post surgery with only water and ice, I'm not even hungry! food is not on my mind right now. And that is a first in over 25 years! You have all made it this far. Please believe me when I say, you've got this. You've made it this far, you've got this. Good luck to you all. If you have an experience even only half as good as mine was at the OCC with Dr. Ariel Ortiz, then you certainly will be glad you went through with the surgery.

Hi all- I'm a vet, had my wls in 2014. Lost to goal and then some and have successfully maintained. I have also had all my plastic surgery and am just living a happy life now.
I am here because I want to be supportive of others. Bariatric surgery was very complicated for me and I feel I have a lot to contribute no matter where you are on your journey because I have really struggled myself. I want to be there for newbies and other vets who may need support down the line.

This surgey changed my life, almost cost me my life, and gave me back my life. If you want to talk I am here and never going to judge you.

So I am just about a year out since my surgery. Had it on May 23rd of 2016.
Far and away I can say this was the BEST decision that I have ever made in my life. My highest weight was 433 lbs with my surgery weight at 397 lbs. Proud to say just about a year after surgery I currently weigh 194 pounds. 203 pounds down since the surgery and 241 down overall.
I literally cannot even tell you how much this has changed my life for the better. I am posting this because I want everyone to know that if I did it you can too. If anyone has literally any questions at all for me please don't hesitate to reach out. I

Long story short, you are screwed.
Best you can do is flood yourself with Water and and try to dilute your urine as much as possible.
    Good luck.
I don't smoke pot but I know a lot of people that do. Even with the urine cleaning stuff you can take, you need more than 5 days. If you pass this drug test it will just be the grace of God that allows it.
Also I hate to tell you but loosing a massive amount of waste rapidly throws a lot of tests off. So maybe you will get lucky, but I doubt it. If anything dropping a ton of weight will have more THC floating in your system than normal.

This is my first post on this forum
As long as all goes well in Insurance Land I will be getting sleeved in 12 days (eeeeeeek!) May 17th is THE DAY!
I came home on Monday after eating and drinking my way around France and Italy for 2 weeks (best food funeral ever, btw). Even better, I was only up 2.5 lbs from when I left, which was the day after my last visit for my 3 month supervised diet. I wanted to be sure I was under my last recorded weight when I went back to see the surgeon yesterday for my final pre-op visit, so I started my office's pre-op diet just to drop a few pounds. Well, that worked out in my favor b/c they were able to schedule me 13 days out instead of 19 (they only do WLS on Tue & Wed).
So, I'm powering through the pre-op diet . My office does 2 - 3 approved Protein Shakes a day (I use Premier) and 1 high Protein, low carb meal a day, with the option to snack on raw veggies whenever. I'm feeling pretty good so far. This weekend I'm planning on preparing for post-surgery meals for my family. I'm a big meal prepper so I'm going to make sure the hubs and 3 kids are set for food so I don't have to cook when I can't eat anything.
Looking forward to sharing my journey with everyone! I love reading about your journeys.

I had my sleeve on Monday and then proceeded to vomit for 2 days, earning myself an extra night in the hospital. I was so afraid I would rip the staple line, but it seems to be ok. I really was not expecting to vomit so violently.

I was scared in the days leading up. Today, I feel hopeful, relieved, and excited.

Nope. I was pretty convinced I was going to die pre-op. I wasn't even concerned about dying because or during surgery because I knew that would be a lot faster than the route I was on.

There are some benefits to hitting rock bottom, you have nothing to lose.

It's crazy to see pictures before because that is not who I saw. I feel I am more of a reflection of who I am now, than before my surgery. My "before" pic was taken in March of 2016. Three months later, I began my journey.

Bri_Guy reacted to Tufflaw in 100 pounds down in less than 5 months? Holy cow!
Got some great news from the scale this morning, I'm officially down 100.4 pounds from my starting weight of 314.6 on 12/7/16. That was the date I started my pre-surgery diet, and my surgery date was 12/21/16. I never dreamed it would work out so well. So close to my ultimate goal, but this was an unofficial goal for two reasons. First, 100 pounds just sounds nice Second, when I did Weight Watchers about 10 years ago, the lowest I ever got was 214, so I wanted to get there again. Before that, I can't even remember the last time I was so low, maybe 25 years ago. Anyway, just wanted to share!

    Hello!
Was searching around the Internet last Friday when I happened across this site. I'm so glad I did! Since then, I've spent hours reading posts, writing down tips, and generally putting my mind to rest over my upcoming VSG on May 12th.
I couldn't figure out how to go back and edit things on my profile (starting weight, etc...), so here goes. Would be great to have a buddy to share in the highs and lows of our journey together.
Surgery Date: Friday, May 12th Location: StarMedica Hospital, Juarez, Mexico Surgeons: Dr. Jose Rodriguez-Villarreal & Dr. Elmo Aramburo Funding: Self-Pay My only main concern at the moment is travel. My husband is travelling with me from our home in New Hampshire to El Paso, TX (via Atlanta). This doesn't worry me for the outward journey, but am a little concerned about spending 8+ hours traveling 2 days after my procedure. Has anyone had a similar experience and is able to offer any advice?

Checked in the hospital this morning at 5:30am surgery is set at 9am! I only had one day for liquids but I did 3 days just to prepare myself. Not too bad. What really sucked was the darn commercial about food lol! I continued to workout during liquid diet and that was weird. Felt a bit week in the legs but nonetheless I did it. Today during my weigh in I was down 10 more pounds. I have exceeded my Dr recommendation prior to surgery. The next adventure will be post op and I can't wait.

In a couple hours a new chapter will begin for me. Again, best of luck to all on this journey and remember all our hard work will pay off!!
