Protein Shake help !
I like the IDS Banana flavor protein powder. I mix it with 1% milk and some ice. Taste like a banana shake to me. It took me a little while to find one that I like. Keep searching, you'll find something eventually that you can tolerate.

All for nothing
First of all, I'm So sorry about your grandmother. I adored my mother in law, and that's exactly how she died. Fine in the morning and in the ER having a heart attack that night. Sounds like you did a terrific job of losing weight with your band that first year. I think you are right about taking care of the depression first. No matter how long it takes, I don't think losing weight would be your first priority when you are battleing the depression. I'm sure when you get better, you can get right back in there and lose that weight again. Hopefully for good. Whether it's with lap band or another WLS, I think you can do it. Hang in there are get well first. Carol

New to Yakima and lost with a Band...
I'm in Yakima, but my Dr is in Federal Way. I just got banded June 1st. I'm looking for a support group for the Yakima area. We might have to start one.

Yakima Support
Wow Cindergirl, You've been banded a long time. Have you reached your goal? I just got banded June 1st. I haven't recieved any posts on my question, so I'm guessing there isn't any support group for Yakima. I'm sure there are more of us, we just need to find them. Let me know if you run across anybody and I will do the same. Carol

Thanks Emjay I'll try that next time. When I get up the nerve to try an egg again LOL

Is this Normal
OK, my egg came back up. I feel much better now. Does that mean that 1 egg was too much food to eat. I did eat slowly and chewed very well. Last night I had fish and salad with no problem. Whats the deal??

Is this Normal
I had my first fill on June 29th and with one egg for breakfast this morning, I feel like someone is sitting on my chest. Is this normal? I've been feeling this way for about an hour now. Is it going to stop anytime soon?

Does it hurt when you get a FILL????
I got my first fill today. Mine was very easy. A small shot to numb it, 1 minute and it was done. No pain at all. I didn't look at the needle. Didn't see any reason to worry myself about the size of the needle.

4th of July Challenge!
Got my first fill today. Wasn't bad at all. Found out I'd lost 5 pounds this week! My scale was broken and I had no idea what I would weigh. Only 2 pounds to my July 4th goal.

Do you update your weight loss in a ticker/program/website/app for each pound?
this is the only site where I have a ticker. I update it every 2 to 3 pounds.
-
what do you want to do once you lose weight
Walk, as long and as far as I want to, without any pain. Ride all the rides at any amusement park with my grand kids. Go to the pool in an actual bathing suit, not shorts and a T shirt. Try to ride a bike again. Used to love to ride, but am now afraid I would dwarf the bike, and the tires would go flat. I too would love to have a picture done of me and hubby. We've never had one done.

wondering??
Most people did the research and know what is happening to them. It's just venting at a place where people most likely will understand.

Any June Bandsters???
Hi, I was banded on June 1st. Doing really well. I'm suppose to be on just liquids for 4 weeks after surgery. I've done pretty good, but I've also cheated more than once. Cheating is mushie food. creamed soup, cream of wheat, that sort of thing. No solids, so I don't think it's hurt anything. I did do just liquid for a whole 4 weeks before surgery and 2 weeks after surgery. Hasn't been easy. 4 weeks before surgery was because my original surgery date was postponed. I never experienced any gas pains what so ever. I kind of wonder why.
-
in pain
I hope you aren't trying to eat solids. It will get better. Sometimes the gas pains can last a while. Give it a few more days. Walk a lot, that should help.

Does anyone have an issue with port placement??
My doctor is far from fantastic. I think you have me mixed up with another post.
-
Does anyone have an issue with port placement??
I had even asked my surgeon before surgery if I had any say as to where the port would be. I was rudely told no. He didn't have the best bedside manner. That was very considerate of your doctor to ask you.

Can't seem to find a good protein drink
I ordered a sample pack of the nectar by Syntax. I couldn't stand any of the flavors. Was sorry I wasted my money.
-
Anyone tried this stuff?
I'm with you. I too, ordered the sample pack. Couldn't stand any of them.

Does anyone have an issue with port placement??
Thats where I kinda thought it would be. Away from the waist and the bra line. The incision is below the ribs, but the port is about 2 inches lower.
