  1. I feel the same way. It's just not worth the pain of eating. For the most part I tolerate things ok but if I forget to extra chew or wait to drink, it hurts. So I go back to popsicles and shakes and teas.
  2. So I ran into a turnstile because I was distracted and forgot to swipe my metro card. I was rushing so I went full force into the bar and have had cramps all night and this morning a soreness. I am almost two months post op and was wondering if anyone has had any accidents after their surgery. I'm calling the dr when he opens but I wanted your input/experiences. SD 12/19/16
  3. I had surgery 12/19/16 and am at a stall
  4. 9 weeks post op and I have been loosing and gaining the same darn 5lbs and nothing else! This is so frustrating! I can't keep up with the water or the protein. I'm so frustrated Sleeved 12/19/16 SW 208 CW 185
  5. I took 5 weeks. I didn't want to be around ppl with colds and other nasties that I could catch. I also take the train and bus to work and didn't want to risk getting bumped into. The first 2 weeks are exhausting. I was always dizzy and tired and remembering to drink all day and take my Protein and pills would have been difficult at work. I work in an office and sit all day too but even my dr said to stay home. It's just safer. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Wow! I still haven't done that. Good for u. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Everyone is different so it's hard to say what you should say to your wife but for the most part and in general we just want our partners to look at us the same way they did before. In love. This surgery made me emotional and cranky. So just be patient. In the end she will be so happy and much more in love with you. My husband was so caring and attentive even when I was moody and now I'm doting on him lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Exactly. Like today I had some ziti. 3-5 spoons is the most I can get in if that but right after the 3rd spoon I'm thirsty and need to drink but can't. It's gonna take some getting used to that's for sure Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. I thought that I could go back after 3 weeks but with the exhaustion, dizzy spells and eating only purée made it impossible. I decided to go back after I was ok'd to eat solids. But bending is a definite no-no. Talk to your doctor first. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I still haven't gotten used to it. I used to drink 70-80 oz of Water a day so now I feel like I am always thirsty. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Walk and walk then walk some more. Trust me. And drink teeny tiny sips all day. This will pass and you will soon see how totally worth it this is! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. In between food and drink? I'm thirsty after a few bites but know the pain it will cost to drink right after. So annoying. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  17. I finally started tracking my calorie and Protein intake and am under 500 calories a day. I'm ok on potion about 50-60 but I'm worried about the calories. I'm in phase 2 right now and hopefully tomorrow I will get the green light to go on solids. But I don't see how I can eat more then what I am as it is... Any suggestions? 18. I was put on blood thinners for 2 weeks and ended up getting my period a week early. They also put me on Iron pills so I didn't go through what you are. I highly suggest you ask about the iron pills. I believe that's what helped me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. Sleeved 12/19/16 Start weight 208 Current 190 I feel the same. I thought I would lose more and I barely lost 18lbs I'm not happy at all. But I do agree that if the starting weight was on the smaller side then it will take longer but it's frustrating when you have gone through so much. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. All I read is that the purée phase is eggs and cottage cheese lol and here I am eating everything so I wasn't sure. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. I stood 2 nights bc of vomiting, slight fever and irregular blood pressure. It was all over the place. But I didn't mind. It gave me time to adjust before going home and being on my own. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. So I'm almost done with the puréed food phase but I think I did it wrong...day one of purée I ate mash and meatloaf, I ate it for 3 days straight, about 1/4 cup. Then I make steak in sauce and puréed that and ate it for 3 days. I thankfully haven't had any issues but now I worry because I go to the dr on Thursday and when they ask I'm have to tell them what I ate. I thought that as long as it was puréed then I could eat it... Has anyone else done this too? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. Thanks everyone!!! I will look into all these! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. No problem! And u can purée and freeze into the appropriate portions for u. I can eat about 1/2 cup purée for lunch. Enjoy! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. Sleeved 12/19/16 Weighed 208 Current 191 I woke up in recovery and couldn't stay awake so I had to stay there for a while longer then everyone else. So make sure to stay awake once you wake bc they may make u stay there longer instead of going into your private room. Walk as soon as the dr says to and walk every hr up and down the hall while u r there. TRUST me. I had no issues with gas pains bc I did. They will give u small cups to drink from. Start with a tiny sip then put the cup down. U can no longer take large amounts of anything into ur system. And I noticed that putting the cup or spoon down helps in slowing me down so I didn't feel that tightness and discomfort in my chest. They might give u a disgusting liquid to drink after surgery too. And if u r like me u may need 14-28 days of blood thinner shots twice a day that hurt like hell. For the liquid phase I made Soups and just strained them and drank the broth. It helped bc I liked them rather then the store bought broths. Hoped this run down helped. Best of luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
