What do you think?
My screenreader says twenty-ten. I can't stand hearing it say that so I'm going to have to change it. I'd do the same if I lived in Texas, or Mississippi, where I was born, in the fahties! LOL!

Global Warming: Real or hoax?
Jack, I have been paying attention, and based on what I'm reading, I'm leaning more and more toward the fact that global warming does not exist. So thank you for the articles. Debbie

What do you think?
Twenty-ten just doesn't roll trippingly off the tongue! LOL!

What do you think?
Is it pronounced twenty ten, or two thousand ten Someone on the news says the correct pronunciation is twenty-ten. I object simply on principle, I guess. This same person also said we should have been saying ot 9, for instance. What do you think?? Debbie

Stretched Pouch
I think I read somewhere that going on liquids will shrink the pouch, in some cases, with a doctor's approval. I'm not sure about how one can tell if the pouch is stretched Maybe you'd have trouble keeping things down, or being able to eat too much? Hopefully someone will come along and let us know. .

Why can I eat so much and keep gaining weight?
Has his doctor checked the band at all, under a fluoroscope? I'm no expert, but I'm wondering if maybe there could be a leak, so the fill isn't staying in? Just a thought.

Hello from Southern California
Spaz, good for you! Dr. Quilici was wonderful, and there are quite a few of his patients on this site. In the social groups there is one called Banded Around Burbank. There are support groups every month, which you may or may not know about. The surgery was a piece of cake for me and I'm a big chicken when it comes to needles. Feel free to ask any questions. I'll be happy to help if I can.

How long have you had your band and are you still happy?
I love my band, have had no complications, and I know I couldn't have lost the weight I have, and kept it off without it. I am not perfect, but I have a tool that reminds me that I can't eat the way I used to, and with exercise and good food choices I can do this! This Christmas my best friend bought me a pair of corderoy pants (sp) that are a size smaller. I've lost two pants sizes and maybe three blouse sizes. I didn't have to unzip the cords to put them on!! Let's hear it for the band! Debbie

Need advice from long term bandsters
Hello Briansangel, I have not been banded for a year yet, but I've read about people who have for several years and are doing very well. You might want to check out the success stories to reassure yourself that you can believe you will continue to do well. I think a lot of people who do simply don't post as much; just lurk, or give support and encouragement. Congratulations on your success, and I hope it continues!

Adhesions - Turned down for surgery?
I had an abdomenal hysterectomy and didn't have any problems getting banded. Good luck. I hope all goes well.

OK, I'm an idiot!
I started a thread in the lap band talk lounge entitled Global Warming, Hoax or not? (Or something like that.) I meant to close the pole in January, but guess I didn't do that, judging by someone's response. Can I change that, or can I just delete the thread? I feel really stupid!

Global Warming: Real or hoax?
I didn't want it to be. Guess I don't know how to set up a pole. Any suggestions as to how to make it longer?

Fabulous February Bandsters check in
Hi, The Fabulous February bandsters unite thread is still on the post op forum. I just thought it might be a good idea to start a new thread so people could check in. (I didn't start that thread.) I'm doing well, too. I have restriction, am staying full longer. I don't know if I've reached my sweet spot yet, so will see how much I've lost when I have my next fill. I weighed myself and my scale says I've lost 3 more pounds than is on my signature. That makes me feel good, as long as the scale keeps going down! Hope to hear from more February bandsters!

Just for Fun ... Describe yourself to me!
Wow, Electrawoman, thanks for the description! And congratulations on getting banded! I think I responded to one of your threads, and I can imagine the commanding presence you must have. It comes through in your description, and that's definitely not a bad thing. Thanks again.

Global Warming: Real or hoax?
A friend told me yesterday that she'd heard all this talk about global warming wasn't true. I'm not sure where she heard this, but it was apparently on some news broadcast. I'm not sure what I believe, but I'd like to know what others think.

Just for Fun ... Describe yourself to me!
Humming Bird, you made me think of something else. I used to wear fingernail polish, and I loved pink, but I stopped wearing it because it was always chipping. I can't ever have my nails long because I'm a pianist, but I've always liked "seeing" other people's. One of my sisters used to have really long nails. I loved your description! Thank you!

Just for Fun ... Describe yourself to me!
Ellen, thank you! Since you know me, you can tell me if the description I gave is accurate. Funny, I remember asking you once jokingly if you were blonde. You said yes, but I never thought about what color your eyes might be. You're doing great! Thank you to yet another supportive bandster! Debbie

I choose to live.
Drasan, congratulations for getting this far! I'm glad your husband is on board. Many of my friends expressed concern. Most of them were willing to listen and have been very supportive. There was one person who went so far as to post something about me on another web site, and received the negative comments we have all heard: "I know someone who had that surgery and ..." fill in the blanks. Let us know when you get your surgery date!

Can someone please explain?
Thank you, kiz. This is the second time you've rescued me! LOL! Debbie!
