  1. I know this is a fitbit thread but I didn't like the fitbit at all. I thought the Garmin was a far better fitness tracker.
  2. I have heard different things about the size of compression shirt that you should wear. I heard that you are supposed to wear your "normal" size shirt and I have heard that you should wear one that is a size smaller. Any advice?
  3. Congratulations!
  4. Maybe this with the date of 20 Oct 2016 (the date of my surgery).
  5. I think just about everyone on this forum has hit the dreaded 3 week stall. It will pass. Don't get frustrated and try to keep a positive attitude.
  6. WOW! You look great. Nice ink as well.
  7. Congratulations! You will be joining us on the loser's bench before you know it.
  8. It could be worse. They could ask if you are sick. That is what happens to me.
  9. CONGRATULATIONS! I hope that it is a speedy process for you and I hope to see you on the loser's bench real soon.
  10. Thanks. I didn't think about doing that.
  11. I had Roux-En-Y (Bypass) surgery on 20 October 2016. As of today I have exceeded my surgeons weight loss goal. I am almost 100 pounds down. I am extremely happy with both my procedure and my surgeon. From what I was told, sleeves have a higher rate of regaining the weight than the pouches. Again, that is what I heard. My surgeon told me that the pouch was better for me to help with the diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol and sleep apnea. So far it has helped with everything but the sleep apnea (I went from obstructive to central apnea) and as an extra it has helped with my depression.
  12. Has anyone gotten some new ink to celebrate and/or commemorate their WLS? Thinking of getting something but not sure what yet. Was thinking maybe a kangaroo (since I am a pouch). Please let me know if you did and if possible post a photo of it. Thanks.
  13. I think that I look older and more haggard but everyone else seems to think I look a lot younger and good. I have also noticed some of the people in my support group look older and haggard. There is a 48 year old woman who I thought was in her late 50s. I guess it has to do with how big you were before the surgery. Just my $.02.
  14. I saw this on FB and thought that maybe some of the "newbies" might like a list of the WLS abbreviations that are used on this forum.
  15. Zero hair loss, no special anything.
  16. It gets better. Try to keep a positive attitude. 23 pounds is a lot in just 6 weeks. Give yourself some credit.
  17. Always happens to me. I have just decided it is all mind over matter. I don't mind at it don't matter. To be honest I trust my scale more than I do the one at the doctors office. I take care of my scale and don't have different people on it 20 to 30 times a day.

    That's the ticket.
  19. I am excited for you. Just remember it isn't all sunshine and roses. It can get frustration. Try to keep your positive attitude and lean on your support network (including us) if you need to. Congratulations! And we will see you on the loser's bench very soon.
  20. Thank you. Interesting, the other site gave me a BMR of 1518.
  21. I don't know if this is accurate or not but I found this BMR calculator online. My BMR according to this is: You have a BMR of 1519.259. http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/#result
  22. I hate to say it but I hope that you don't get to read those books. Hopefully after you have your surgery you will be too busy walking/exercising that you won't have the time.
  23. I had never heard of such a thing until I read your post. Sounds like a pretty cool thing.
