100 Pounds Lost Pin
Thank you. It has been a "fun" journey.

Thank you vets
I agree. They are great.

Hi, I'm Mystique - new member/pre surgery
Welcome to the forum! It is very exciting news. I hope you get the 5 June surgery date. Keep as positive as you can and we will see you on the loser's bench before you know it.

No support
That is pretty jacked up. Maybe you need to call them and ask WTF? If they don't want to help maybe it is time to shop around to find another surgeon that would be willing to take you on.

Surgery Tomorrow!!
Make sure the slippers have some sort of tread on them, you don't want smooth bottom slippers that may actually make you slip. That wouldn't be good at all. We all went through the nervousness of pre-op. Stay positive.

Needing Advice & Support
Do you have the pouch or the sleeve?

Surgery Tomorrow!!
Just try to keep a positive attitude. You can do this. It will get worse before it gets better but I promise it will get so much better. Take it one day at a time, and remember to walk, walk and walk some more. We will see you on the loser's bench very soon.

Thank you. I am really excited to have gotten it.

Dunkin donuts
Sorry, I haven't touched coffee since 1991. Too much coffee in the desert. All we had was warm/hot water to drink so we figured we might as well drink coffee. Too much.

Constipation and anal fissures
I didn't have any issues until about 4 months post op (that is when I ended up in the ER for fecal impaction). Ever since then I have to strain a little to have a BM. I drink plenty of water. I don't think it effects everyone.

100 Pounds Lost Pin
So my support group awards you with a pin for 100 pounds lost or 1 year since your surgery. Last night I received my pin for 100 pounds lost (two days short of 7 months). I will wear this with pride on my Veterans of Foreign Wars Uniform Hat to remind me of my journey.

Why can't we donate blood?
I have never heard of that before. I know that I was banned from giving blood for awhile because I was in the desert (sand fleas carry infections) but now it is just because I lived in Europe in the 1990s (mad cow disease).

How do you feel?
HHHHMMMMM!!!!!! Interesting. I may have to try that. LOL

Feeling Kinda Meh.
It was in another post of mine.

Those of you 5 months post op...
At 5 months I would hope that you are back on regular food. Really you will be able to eat anything. But there are the things that you shouldn't eat and you should know what those are. Good luck to you.

First Post Just got Surgery Date
Congratulations! Try to keep a positive attitude. It will get harder before it gets easier, but you can do this.

Gastric bypass or sleeve? How did you choose? Anyone 5 years out of surgery?
I had the bypass and do not regret it. The RNY is better for long term weight loss if you are very heavy. I was not heavy but the RNY fixed GERD and diabetes (which I had). From what I have read on here (and other sites) is that those who get the sleeve are more apt to fall back into unhealthy eating habits and gain the weight back. It is harder (not impossible) for that to happen with a pouch. Just my $.02. Take it or leave it.

I finally hit "Healthy" category on the BMI chart!
Congratulations!

Sometimes it helps to take some pictures!
Looking good. Keep up the great work!

Feeling Kinda Meh.
WOW! You know what? I think you are right. It never occurred to me.
- How do you feel?

How do you feel?
Yeah, you might be right.

How do you feel?
Thanks. I have been in a great mood for months, now for some reason I just feel meh and people get on my nerves. Not really sure what is going on. Part of it maybe that I hate being the center of attention (abusive step monster made it so I had to fly below the radar).

Acid reflux problems after going off meds
I stopped taking my omeprazole and had to get into it with someone at the VA because they said I needed it. I told them to look at my records and that I had RNY surgery and that I was only taking it as needed anyways. When I finally talked to my primary she said no problem, you shouldn't need it.

What is your favorite way to stay active on the rainy days?
For me, I go to the mall and walk. I really hate being cold (thanks WLS, LOL) so I just go to the mall so that I don't get cold and wet.
