  1. Thank you. Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App
  2. OK, I don't know if this is true or not but I found this on a website: "the bypassed stomach remnant or body remains present because it still has important jobs to do – namely the production of digestive enzymes and juices and hormones which still play an important role in digestion and metabolism. Removing the stomach would increase the invasiveness and risks, magnitude and recovery time of surgery markedly and bring very minimal advantage." http://www.sasseguide.com/blog/what-happens-to-the-%e2%80%9cold-stomach%e2%80%9d-in-gastric-bypass/
  3. That is a fantastic question. I know they remove it for the sleeve but for us RNY people they leave it in. I will have to research that.
  4. I hope that it won't.
  5. I am in Livonia. Please let me know if thee I having RNY surgery on 20 Oct 2016.
  6. Sounds like you have the med situation well in hand. Good luck with your surgery.
  7. It doesn't make me gassy. However I drink like 4 oz at a time because it's strong and at times I find it leaves a bit of a residue in my mouth. Not sure if it's because of the high Protein amount. It might just be me but it's like a film in my mouth if I drink too much. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I drink only 4 oz myself. I like the taste of my Protein powder. It makes me horribly gassy. Maybe it is just the powder that I am using?
  8. Does the surgery help with the depression?
  9. I was told the same thing. I went to Wally World and bought them. I think it was $5.00 for 60?
  10. Maybe I should try this Isopure? Does it make you "gassy" like the meal replacement shacks?
  11. I am going to look this up right now. Thanks for posting this.
  12. I had never heard of vitamin patches. I am going to have to check them out. Does anyone have a recommendation as to where is the best place to buy them?
  13. I had my ultrasound and they told me that I get to keep my gall bladder. No stones, looked good. My surgery is next Thursday.
  14. I have Federal BCBS and I had no issues with getting it approved. My surgery is 20 Oct 2016. I wouldn't worry about it, they will approve you.
  15. You look great. Thank you for the inspiration. My surgery is on 20 Oct 2016. RNY for me.
  16. I am scheduled to have my surgery on 20 October 2016 at St. Mary Mercy in Livonia, MI. So far, Dr. Roberts and his staff have been fantastic. I will post here again once I have the RNY surgery.
  17. My RNY is on 20 October 2016 at St. Mary Mercy in Livonia, MI. I just started the low cal part of my pre-op diet. I start the liquid phase on Monday 17 October 2016. I am a little nervous about the procedure.
