What does the timeframe look like from initial visit to surgery?
Mine was 6 weeks from consult to surgery date. I checked what things the insurance company wanted and made sure they were done before the consult so that made things go much faster and smoother. If they want a 3 month supervised diet , my suggestion is get it done before hand along with all of the other things the insurance company wants and then it's just going through the classes and little things. Good luck Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

3 days post op
Consult weight 237.6 Surgery date weight 229.2 Home and feeling pretty good. First day after surgery I was not able to walk as I was so loaded up on meds. 2nd day had severe back pain but walked 6 times that day and was doing much better. I did have major issues with high blood pressure even in recovery room. My bp was 220 over 105 so they kept me in recovery longer. Then next 2 days in hospital room my BP kept sky rocketing. I was able to come home but I have 24 hour care till post op on the 11th to keep an eye on my bp. Even with all that I say this is the best thing I have done for my health. Feeling well, walking, stretches and liquids. Definitely make sure you get a knack for the liquid diet prior to surgery because it makes it easier post op. You definitely can't gulp or drink quickly and slow and easy is the way to go. Leak test was not as bad I thought. Good luck and if you have any questions I am happy to answer Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

I am very happy I could help. I was extremely anxious hoping fepblue would approve everything. They are very straight forward with their guidlines. I think that is a great thing too. Keep me posted and if you need anything just reach out. This us a great forum and it definitely helps having people that have the same insurance and have gone through the process Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

I have Fepblue and I completely understand the anxiousness! Best thing to do is get most of the items Fepblue wants out of the way. It is not consecutive but 3 months within the last year. Also get your PAP done, Chest XRay and EKG. ASAP. Also if you can schedule an appointment for a sleep study for sleep apnea. This helps move things along faster. Your surgeon will set you up for classes and psch eval. I found knowing what fepblue conditions are and having them done before starting the consult made the process go much faster and smoother. I had 3 month sup diet, ekg, labwork, Chest xray, sleep test, pap and mammogram done before consult. In having all that done my consult was Sept 14th and I have surgery Nov 3rd. From start to surgery 6 weeks. They don't really speak to your doc, they just make sure 3 month appts are complete. Best of luck, I hope this helps. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

Day 2 of 7 Day Pre Op Liquid Diet
Haven't really had the urge to eat regular food. Thank god. Going ok, just kind of bored with the same old liquid stuff. Looking at straining different broth based Soups. Any suggestions. My husband has also been very considerate and has only eaten salads and soup that way I don't smell the deliciousness of what he is is eating and want want to cheat. I found that has helped alot. Surgery date of November 3rd coming up fast. Pre Op appt Friday the 28th at 9:30 am. Getting excited Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

liquid diet questionS- 5 days in.
The Protein will break down even in the fridge so don't make a big batch because you will have to throw it out. Also if you have a shoppers club card for whatever grocery store alot of times the have them on sale with the shopper's club card. Also look on line for coupons. I have found a couple really good ones for 2-3 dollars off. I start my pre op liquid diet next Wednesday. Good luck and hope this info helps Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App
