Feeling discouraged

I am six weeks out from bypass… Feeling very discouraged, only 23 pounds lost, dealing with major constipation and can hardly eat anything other than yogurt and cottage cheese… I hope I didn't go through all of this for nothing

It gets better. Try to keep a positive attitude. 23 pounds is a lot in just 6 weeks. Give yourself some credit.

Instead of 'growing pains', you are experiencing 'shrinking pains'. It comes with the surgery, Don't give up, it will get better.

Prior to surgery, think how thrilled you'd have been to lose 23 pounds so quickly. :) Perspective.

Make sure to get all of your liquids in, that will help with constipation. Also walk as much as you can, that helped me tremendously.
