  1. Hey, I am in SC and was told that the sleeve was best for me. I have severe reflux disease and was type 2 diabetes, hbp, high cholesterol and sleep Apnea. So I did have the sleeve done, i lost 87 lbs in 11 months but I was having worse reflux. Much worse had 2 add 3 extra medications to what I was already doing. Went from 2 pills a day to 10 a day now. My gastrointestinal doctor said that he believes it has gone into Barrett's Esophagus now and I needed to originally have the RNY surgery. Now in process of getting approved for the RNY revision from my insurance companies. My advice is if you have reflux disease to get all the information from your doctor about the effects of the sleeve before considering that option. RNY is supposed to completely get rid of it. I was told that the sleeve would get me off the meds.Well it did for the first 6 weeks. Once foods were coming back in the Reflux got way worse and has gotten so much worse since surgery. I am absolutely miserable. I don't know your situation but I just wanted to let you know that reflux can get worse with the sleeve.
  2. Spark people is a great app and charts your daily intake of carbs, protein, calories ect.. That way you can see where you need to adjust what you're doing. Free app
  3. Yahhhhh WTG girl. I had the sleeve more than 2 years ago and now need RNY REVISION because of my reflux. Waiting for approval from my insurance companies for the RNY.
  4. Are you having sleeve or RNY?? Good luck with your journey and may i say that you are absolutely beautiful..
  5. Omg your doing great and look awesome.
  6. Keep us posted on your progress and how you handle the cravings. Good luck
  7. I was off mp BP ,Metformin, cholesterol medication and no longer have Sleep apnea. Almost immediately after my sleeve surgery. But my reflux is much worse than it was before. Had to add more medication for it. Waiting for approval from my insurance companies for the RNY revision to get rid of the reflux (praying that it works)!!
  8. Stella thanks for sharing your experience with the bypass surgery. I'm waiting for approval from my insurance companies for the RNY revision after 2 1/2 years post OP for sleeve. I am absolutely miserable and hope that once approved by my insurance companies that I can have surgery soon. Hopefully mine will be as easy as my sleeve surgery was. Good luck
  9. Is this after sleeve surgery or RNY?? I have had sleeve in October 2016 no real issues with anything for the first 6 wks and then the reflux was back way worse than when I had sleeve done. 2 1/2 years later and I am waiting for approval from my insurance companies for the RNY. My gastrointestinal doctor just did EGD with the Bravo test for documentation as to how bad it is for the insurance companies. But he thinks that I now have Barrettes Esophagus. Hopefully surgery will be approved and a surgery date will be set up soon. Allie in SC
  10. Wow that is an elaborate concoction.
  11. So depressing. I try to make early morning appointments. I always have a drink in my hand so if I go in the afternoon or forget to take my water pills I can easily be up 8 to 10 lbs. So annoying but I actually have contemplated taking a picture of my scale morning of an afternoon appointment. Lol

  13. Also Sleep Apnea no longer an issue.
  14. I had sleeve surgery in October 2016,lost 87 lbs but( gained back 30 and have lost 11 recently),my reflux (GERD),has gotten so much worse than it already was.Instead of 2 pills a day I am taking 4 medications a total of 10 pills a day just for the reflux. I also had a hernia repair at the same time which almost immediately came back. That's why I am waiting for approval from my insurance companies for the RYN surgery. I am absolutely miserable all the time not sorry I had surgery at all as I am no longer type 2 diabetic, no high blood pressure, no high cholesterol and the weight loss is a great plus. Just want the reflux gone.
  15. Awesome to see the loses you are all having.
  16. I totally agree with hospitalization at this point, call 911 and get an ambulance to get you to the hospital.
  17. Violet, I can't believe your surgeon is so insensitive. WTH??I can call my ppl anytime. Yes they do follow up once a year but if you are having problems they should want to help you. I'd be like " Okay so I want names and information on which one of you guys are going to be held responsible if I pass away?". Heck I would contact local news as a human interest story and I bet your doctor will be happy to see you asap because they don't want their reputations ruined. Wow I am so sorry this is happening to you. I am in SC.Not sure where you are. God bless you Allie
  18. You probably should call your surgeon office Immediately and try to get with the nutritionist there. I hope you have some good family and friends that check on you frequently. What kind of time frame did you loose from 22 to size 2?? Wondering if it was too fast?? Please be careful and get with your doctor. You need someone to drive you there. Also have someone help you for a few days. Possibly let them get what you need from the store and be sure to take your vitamins. Allie in SC
  19. I had the sleeve 2 1/2 years ago and because I have such severe reflux disease I am now jumping through the hoops and waiting to get approval from my insurance companies to get the revision surgery for the RNY. It happens quite often apparently and I had no clue or i would of just had RNY the first time. My surgeon thought sleeve surgery was best at the time but my gastrointestinal doctor said it was the worst surgery for me because now the acids and foods have no place to go so it keeps going back up my throat constantly. Fingers crossed it will be approved soon. Good luck with your journey e everyone.. Allie in SC
  20. I have Medicare and tricare for life (my husband is retired Army)!! So I didn't have a long wait for approval it took longer to get a surgery date.
  21. Are you guy's possibly losing too fast from not enough calories taken in that can cause you to be dehydrated. Which causes weakness, nausea and tiredness. Be careful and keep your Dr.in the loop.Don't think you are being a nuisance or a whinner. Take care of yourself
  22. So maybe part of the weakness could be not enough protein?? Get better soon
