  1. I noticed some of the reviews say theirs died. I've had mine for 2 years with no problem.
  2. This is the scale I use: https://www.amazon.com/My-Weigh-XL-550-Talking-Bathroom/dp/B0014ZQH84/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1493916572&sr=8-3-fkmr1&keywords=heavy+duty+scale+550+pounds It goes up to 550 pounds. I was 540 at my highest. Funny thing...I didn't know it talked. One day after I had moved it I turned it on and it said "hello" I freaked out! haha The talking is helpful though because when I was so heavy I would need someone else to look at the weight because I couldn't see it but it just tells me the weight so I could weigh myself on my own. I still use it and I'm now 290 pounds. I still think the talking is helpful because I feel your weight changes if you bend your head down. I love it.
  3. I would call your doctor. It sounds like an allergic reaction of some kind. You can probably just call your PCP.
  4. It really depends on your plan what kind of wait you will have...Some plans require no wait, some 3 months, some 6 months. The only one who can tell you what the requirements are is your insurance company.
  5. @jwinters19 That's what I thought! Thank you for participating!!
  6. @jwinters19 This is your 5/5 weigh in right?
  7. You kind of need to eat all day to get your calories in.
  8. @New Me 31317 For me it was my nutritionist and doctor together. I was on each stage for 2 weeks.
  9. You can add in another small meal in there some where. Either between lunch and dinner or after dinner. Or like @MarinaGirlbeef up your current meals. You can add higher calorie products to your meals in order to have higher calories. Add peanut butter to your shake, have more slices of cheese, add meat into your cheese snack. It's hard in the beginning but you get into a groove.
  10. So you shouldn't compare your loss to anyone elses. Everyone loses at a different rate. 24 pounds in less that 2 months is FANTASTIC!! Be proud of your loss! You are at the lower end of weight so you will lose slower anyway. I might also try upping your calories a bit. At 8 weeks out I was eating 600-800 calories. If you are not getting enough calories you also might not be losing as fast. Your surgeon may have a different calories goal than mine though. But really...you have lost a great amount of weight. I know how you feel about not meeting personal expectations but it is working. Everyone goes through stalls too so not losing in 4 days is normal. Start taking measurements because sometimes the scale isn't moving but your measurements are shrinking. I didn't lose any pounds in 2 weeks but I went down a clothing size. This process is hard and complicated but you are doing everything right. Try not to focus so much on the scale (I know that's easier said than done!) and focus on how you feel and how your clothes fit! Good luck to you!
  11. That's an amazing feeling! Congrats on your success!
  12. Amazing! I also love your tattoo!!
  13. @MissDonni I would just need a revision to my tummy tuck once I meet goal because I would have lost almost another 100 pounds and there will be more extra skin.
  14. I had the sleeve on May 29, 2016. When I started the process I was 540 pounds. At surgery I was 480 pounds and today (11 months out) I am 290 pounds. That is a 250 pound loss. I LOVE my sleeve and am glad I didn't do the bypass. If you have heartburn problems it's not suggested to get the sleeve as it can make heartburn worse. I have exceeded my surgeons weight loss expectations and I am finally able to the life I always wanted to but couldn't
  15. @gnomelover I have added you to the spreadsheet!
  16. @gnomeloverSorry I missed your last sentence. 220 sounds like a good goal since there are 5 more weigh ins. You can also adjust your goal anytime during the challenge if you reach it or if you don't feel you will make it. Do you know what your weigh ins were for 4/7, 4/14, and 4/21?
  17. @gnomelover Do you need help in making a goal or help in losing weight?
  18. @gnomelover Hey! if you would like to join the challenge please post your goal weight for June2nd and I will add you to the challenge!
  19. You have done great!! Keep up the hard work! I can't wait to hear more successes from you!
  20. @Risa900 Stalls are the worst. Keep going though! It will break!
  21. I had the sleeve and I could take pills right after surgery. I am 11 months out and am told to never take nsaids though. I am on extended release Welbutrin, Trileptal, Latuda, Prilosec, Methotrexate, Folic acid, and now all my multivitamins.
  22. I had the sleeve surgery 5/29/16. I am a very social person and very open. I was open with my friends and some of my family and some coworkers about the process I was going through and that I would be having the surgery. Since starting this process I have lost 250 pounds. That is a pretty noticeable difference! In my experience people are curious how you've achieved such great results and when they ask I just tell then I had weight loss surgery and I just watch what I eat and exercise. Most of the time they just accept that answer and say okay! Some people ask how it was and I tell them that I had issues in the beginning but it has saved my life. I tell them about my small portions and the focus on protein. Ultimately it's up to you how much you share. You owe them nothing. If they ask you how you are doing it just tell them you are eating healthier and trying to be active...WHICH IS TRUE. You don't need to divulge your whole story. For myself I tell anyone and everyone. I'm EXTREMELY proud of my weight loss. For example, I was just at the lab to get bloodwork and was so excited to fit in the chair with the arm down I couldn't contain my story and told her how I used to not be able to put the arm down and I had lost 250 pounds. That's me though. I'm very open about my experiences and I like people to know how hard I've worked. When I am able to fit somewhere I couldn't before or do something I couldn't I am SOOO surprised still. My mentality is still in the 540 pound woman who can hardly walk and can't fit most places. I think part of me telling people is that I'm still overweight and want people to know I am working on it and have already come a long way and won't be like this forever. That is my own insecurity though. In conclusion...just do what you want. Share what your feel comfortable sharing. You will be surprised at how little people judge you for it. At least that has been the case in my experiences.
  23. I'm 30 years old and had the sleeve 5/29/16. I had no hair loss that was different than usual and I have long hair. I didn't do anything special.
  24. If you continue to not reach your protein goals it will affect your weight loss. The goals have been set to ensure we stay healthy but also to help promote weight loss. If that is all you were eating you also are not getting enough calories. If you not meet your calorie and protein goals your weight loss will slow or even stop.
