It's Halloweenie! Since I'm still on liquids, I bought no candy for trick or treaters. I had one come up though my light wasn't on. Ignored. Then I had some middle schooler come up at 10:50pm. WTH! So anyway, I have one week left on liquids and it's REALLY getting old!!! I know my stomach is healing and all that but still - I wanna chew my damn shoe. It's funny b/c I'm craving a scrambled egg and I don't even eat eggs that often. Lulu told me that she has, for the most part, lost the desire for snacking. Please God, let that happen to me!!! Oh and I weighed yesterday and am down 16.5 pounds.
  2. That would rock!! My short-term goal is for my gut not to stick out farther than my DD boobs....oh, and to have only 1 chin!!! Ewwwww - on "Big Medicine" they just cut off 12 pounds of excess skin off of a man that lost 200 pounds. :smile2:
  3. We agree - eek! I do understand what you mean. I think God put things in our path for a reason in order to learn. PS - I'm watching "Big Medicine" right now.
  4. You sure the psych will approve a Republican? Badabing! Corny, I know. I hear ya regarding the tying the shoes! Oh, one thing...bending over to pick up something off the ground was definitely tenuous but not horrid. I was banded 10/16 and just realized this week that I picked up the paper off the driveway and didn't cringe. Woohoo! My surgeon's office has been incredibly organized which has been great! Have you seen the threads by Alex about what to expect pre-op, you have a date, what to expect post-surgery, etc? They're really good. Oh and there was a "what to bring to the hospital" thread so if you haven't, you might want to check those out! My pre-op was money (of which I owed $0!) and then meeting with a nurse about all of my existing health questions (yet again!) and then meeting with the anesthesiologist. I told him that anesthesia can sometimes make me sick so he gave me an anti-nausea patch that went behind my ear the night before and that I took off 3 days later. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. Also, there are 2 October threads if you want to read through them. Any October Bandsters!??!?! Øctober Ødyssey 2008
  5. I'm very sorry that you needed one. Sounds like you got away safely, thankfully. I definitely agree with that too. Politicians definitely need term limits. They're too concerned about getting re-elected than leading the country out of the crappah.
  6. No ads....I cannot wait! Our senate race is close to they're every damn other ad. I keep the remote handy so I can hit mute quickly. Pre-op at my hospital was good fun. It had to have taken 3-4 hours and why!?! Can't answer that question. Oh and the best part? I left my wallet at home - doh! So they wanted a copy of my DL and insurance card yet again. Luckily she could verify me through their computer system. I was very lucky with my surgery b/c I had very little pain (just soreness) and zero gas/air. I was SO thankful. I have one more week of liquids. I may start chewing a shoe soon...
  7. HA! If only I'd known...
  8. I have an undergrad in poli sci (and an MBA). We had to look at the federal budget in some class. If that can't raise your blood pressure and/or make you upchuck, nothing will. And that was many many years ago. BTW, the chick flick comment was hysterical. Can you imagine some "normal" people sitting in the Senate facility and all of these entitlement people having to come back and ask for funding? Hilarity would ensue. (Of course, you and I might fight about some of the funding!) We could "reach across the aisle" to take money from tons of "people"! Studying how ketchup flows due to gravity? Uh nope. Me: Let's take that money and give it to abused women's shelters! You: Reaching over to take some. Me: THWAP! ha Building a bridge nowhere? NOPE! :tt1: Cha-ching - savings against the $7T debt! My biggest one - golden parachutes for the sh!theads that benefited from the bailout? OH H TO THE NO!!! <jumping off the crazy, late night soapbox>
  9. I haven't done enough research to know if Keyes' 13% tax would bring in enough revenue. I would just like for everyone to pay taxes and not just reap benefits! For me to be a Dem, I am a businesswoman. I would LOVE to get my hands on the federal budget with a red pen. I would have a blast! You want money for arrow mfrs in Oregon? Um sorry!
  10. LOL - right?? Honestly it kind of scared me as I live alone. Then I got worried that they would do something to my house/yard b/c I have no candy. I'm on liquids after having just been banded - I don't want candy in this house!!! :tt1:
  11. Explain to me why a middle schooler-teenager came up begging for candy at 10:50pm!?! WTH?
  12. Hey you asked the question!!!!!!! I can't wait for it all to be overrrrr! PS - November 21 will be in here no time! I think I was scheduled a month out and thought it would take forever. It didn't!!! Now I'm just so sick of liquids, I could scream!
  13. I love it! The voting machine manufacturer promised Bush Ohio in the last election and you claim the Dems are the voting cheaters? Pot + kettle. Gadget - saying that the President, Congress, and Supreme Court will all be liberal is misstating (not direct quote clearly). The Supreme Court was rather balanced until Bush got to replace two during his eight (horrible) years. Just saying. Additionally, there were some posts about the different theories on economics. The worst cases of poverty and homelessness were during Ronald Reagan's two terms of "trickle-down" (or supply-side) economics which Mr. McCain also endorses. Reagan cut taxes on the rich from 70% to 28% but alas, the tricklin' never began. All that being said, I still favor the fair tax! PS - Explain to me why a middle schooler-teenager came up begging for candy at 10:50pm!?! WTH?
  14. Dear John McCain: You sly dog. You wanted someone to lasso up the Hillary supporters and you nailed it! It takes but one glance at Sarah Palin to see why you would chose her. I mean, it’s like holding up a mirror to Hillary Clinton! Except that she’s anti-abortion (even in cases of rape and incest!!!) and believes that creationism should be taught in public schools. And that she thinks global warming is a “hoax.” And then there’s the whole pro-NRA thing. Not to mention the fact she’s married to a BP employee and is chomping at the bit to rape her home state for a cheap oil and natural gas fix. And, well, there’s the pesky problem that a year and half ago her job was being the mayor of a town with a population of 8,500 when you, Mr. McCain, have been berating Barack Obama for lack of experience. I’m also sorry to report, she’s currently being investigated for abuse of power in her own state. (Let’s face it Johno, how much power is there in Alaska? I mean, come on. If you’re abusing power there, you are working hard to be smarmy!) But I gotta hand it to her, that is one sweet couch. The ginormous crab might be a bit over the top though. While it’s entertaining as hell to watch from afar as the Republican pundits try to spin this positively, it’s also SO GOD DAMNED EMBARRASSING. Mr. McCain, you were supposed to be different. You were supposed to be the “good Republican.” And now you’ve completely succumbed to pandering, insulting and frankly, dangerous tactics. Let’s be frank. You are no spring chicken and unfortunately you’ve had your share of scary cancer moments. Conservatives always counter the age issue with the fact that Reagan was old as shit too, but it’s also common knowledge that he had Alzheimer’s while in office and that he “could not recall” vital moments of the Iran-Contra “affair.” That said, is it safe to place the future in Palin’s hands? Once you start your inevitable war against Iran (the one that Iran insists will be the beginning of World War III and even your mentor George Bush recently realized was not worth it) will she be the person we need leading that charge? It’s absolutely terrifying. A friend wondered aloud tonight if the Republicans are trying to throw you under the bus. If the choice of Palin was a way to spare the other potential VPs from an embarrassing loss and therefore saving them to run in 2012. I wouldn’t put it past the GOP, but honestly, can the U.S. survive another four years of incompetent leadership? No. The answer is an emphatic “NO!” So Mr. McCain, I hope you know what you’re doing. I hope she is as smart as you claim. I hope to hell that you lose, and preferably lose BIG. But, I know my country. I know how selfish it has become. I know how short-sighted and petty. And I know there is a damn good chance you can still win this election. I sincerely hope not.
  15. If you had your surgery in America, Dr. Steinberg will do fills, I believe. He's at the DeKalb Medical Center in Decatur. 404-501-7903
